A private Soul Eater roleplay
Once proud and full of vigor, although they worked from the shadows, Noah's forces have been injured heavily in a short but deadly battle with Spartoi. Kid's rescue mission was a devastating success, dealing a heavy blow directly to the heart of Noah's forces, wounding Noah himself, and by a stroke of luck freeing Kid himself from Noah's clutches, and the group was able to safely return home to Death City, Nevada. What awaited them was not a warm reception, cheers and praise, but a half empty city ridden with a nameless fear.
Disappearances, during all times of the day and all hours of the week, ring through the city as often as it's church bells. Meisters, weapons, citizens, no matter who they are or where they come from, the disappearances have been springing out without any visible link between them. At first, there was no "scene" to the crime. The disappearances happened seamlessly, as if they had simply been cut out of existence, and they only happened when people were completely alone and defenseless. Weapons, caught without their meister. Meisters, caught without their weapons. In the depths of solitude had they dissappeared, without a witness, without a trace.
And now the city stands, mostly empty, as whispers flow through the streets filled with paranoia. Little do they speak of the dissappearances, or of those who have been spirited away, their lips murmur through their selfish lips questions of sanity and of the integrity of Shinigami's sanctuary. Dark alleys are deserted, quiet marketplaces are cleaned out as merchants flee, and the clinging remainder of Shibusen's staff can only clutch onto their manuscripts as they search reverently for a clue or lead, desperately attempting to resolve the crisis. A city taken by the clutches of madness, cradled in the crib of evil. Crawling chaos, oozing over the city like the great line of darkness that casts its shade across the land when the sun sets. There is only one place for the city to turn, and so it turns to the home-coming forces of Spartoi.
