Anyone, whether he is a novice or advanced designer, may join! Join requests are auto-accepted. You don't have to pay a fee (although donations would be nice). Of course, all donations will go to the forums.
what you can do here
In the Gaian Design forum, you can request layouts to be made for you, help create layouts for others, and share your coding tips. You may also show examples of your work! Tips and coding lessons can be posted by any member. Anyone can create guild or profile layouts for those asking on the guild forums. They alone will receive the profits, of course.
simple rules of the guild
all members must adhere to Gaia's rules
all members must not cheat clients or designers for any reason
all members must give reliable coding tips, not false ones
