At the moment, most of the roleplays tend towards the fantasy side of things, but we're open to all manner of storylines and concepts. There is no restriction on who is allowed to make a new roleplay, provided the idea is a hit with the other members. (Read the thread called "New Roleplay Ideas" when you get into the guild for more information on this.)
As a guild of literates, the expectation here is that your roleplaying posts will be consistently better than average compared to say... most of Barton town. By this we mean that your spelling and grammar should be decent, your posts an acceptable length (a minimum of 3 paragraphs containing 5-7 sentences), and the content should be substantial. (By this we mean that the content of your posts should be both relevant and interesting.)
Here is an example of an acceptable roleplaying post.
The harsh wind of a winter storm rushed over houses and down alleyways scarce touched by moonlight. The weather had been more devastatingly cold this year than any year the elders of Evelett could remember, and their wisened old minds had been around for nearly a century. In fact, there was more to the bite of this wind and the cold of snow than just a frozen winter could account for. If one were sensitive to such things, then perhaps they would also be able to name the terror which rode in on that crisp air. Even those who did not understand though would hear the nightmarish yip and howl of wolves racing through their otherwise peaceful streets.
The crunching of footsteps raced ever forward, ducking around corners and under windows empty of all light. Heavy breaths fell raggedly from the stranger’s mouth, condensing wetly in his beard. The night was thick with shadows that the man’s frenzied eyes kept peering into as he ran, but none seemed to scare him so much as the ones behind him. He ran as if the hounds of hell themselves chased him, mad on his trail and nipping at his heels. If only he could make it back to the inn, to safety, then he could pack up and leave this place before night fell again.
The main streets were the best lit, but every house, every lamp post, every tree or bush lining them cast shadows that seemed to thicken as the stranger ran past. His goal was in sight now though, and despite the ache in his side, the man found he still had another burst of speed to give. Doe-skin boots raced over those last few meters and for a moment it seemed as though he might evade his invisible pursuit.
The Blood Hound Inn was little more than an oversized house in Evelett, but it was the only place that you could get room and board for miles around. The path leading up to it was long and thin, lined only by short little shrubs. Then there, at the end near the door was a post from which hung the tavern’s sign. So frantic was he, that the stranger didn’t notice the shadows lengthening towards him as he passed the shrubs. The man didn’t notice that the wind had suddenly fallen silent or that the baying of the wolves had gone quiet. With his eyes fixed on the lantern light peeking from behind closed shutters the poor fellow saw nothing but what was before him…but that was enough.
The long line of shadow cast by the inn’s sign seemed to shrink back towards the pole and thicken. It climbed up the length of that solid wood and then stepped away from it in the shape of a man who barred the stranger’s path. Eyes of pitchest black stopped the poor man in his tracks, but it was that pale white smile like moonlight trapped in the blackness of night that made the man scream.
By the time the innkeeper opened his front door to see what had happened, it was too late. Steam curled up above the stranger’s body where the heat of his blood spilled forth in an ever widening pattern to touch the night air. Tired green eyes looked past the body that bloodied his doorstep and out into the darkness beyond.
“Must you always bring them here?” The old man sighed, subconsciously fingering the pendant around his neck as he did.
The shadow man flashed a brilliant smile in his dark face and then melted back into the darkness without answering.
I would also like to point out that we are a guild that is open to ALL sexual preferences in our roleplays. (so long as they involve only humanoids. Y'know, no bestiality or anything like that will be accepted. Get yourself a nice guy or gal and leave the poor fluffy creatures alone.) We will not tolerate any discrimination against people that like yaoi, yuri, or even hetero relationships. Got it? Good.
Still interested in joining? Well then, let's get on to the application section!
How do you apply?
One day, there will be an all out application thread that we will check regularly. Until that day, I'm going to have to make due with just asking everyone to PM their applications to me. I don't expect too many people to apply right away, but if there's more than I anticipate, it'll just spur me to make that application thread that much sooner.
So, I keep mentioning an application. Where is it you ask? Well, look below!

Copy and paste this application into a PM adressed to Algaliarep, which is my mule. Fill it out and then write up a nice little sample post at the end using the writing prompt below. The reason for the sample post is that all applications are shared with the guild, and the entire guild is given a chance to vote on whether the applicant meets our expectations and standards. The writing prompt is used to make sure that whatever you submit is written up brand new, not copied and pasted from a past RP. The writing prompt will be changed frequently to make sure that we keep you on your toes.
This month's writing prompt is......
Shadow!
In addition to sending your application to my mule Algaliarep, please click the "Request to join" button. Thank you!
Also, if you would like to have your guild affiliated with ours, please let me know! Any messages concerning that can also go to my mule account Algaliarep.
