"Ihuan nanmechtitlanilia ze páhpaquilizticatlápaloli.

Hahah... Forgive me, I forget that you do not understand. I said, “To you, I give a fond greeting”, in Nahuatl. Plenty of the phrases's original meaning is lost in translation. It is long, yes. But Nahuatl is an example of a 'polysynthetic language', in which an entire sentence (maybe paragraph)'s worth of information is contained within a single word. Like in Turkish, for instance.

My name is Xochiquetzal. I am the Aztec goddess of flowers, and keeper of the highest level of Paradise.

Well, I suppose that means nothing to you fleshbags, does it...? To put it in the simplest of terms, I am the equivalent of your Persephone, Demeter, Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite mixed together and combined into one.

I represent a mythology that once commanded great respect in the expansive Aztec empire... The founders of our empire originated in the wide western North America...The land of Aztlan... And its people migrated all the way down to what is now known as Central Mexico and America, calling themselves the Mexica.

My mythology, while not unheard of, is one of the lesser studied mythologies of the world. While it pains me to see the kingdom that my parents and siblings once presided over fall into darkness, I know that there is hope yet of restoring our place among memory.

I recall fondly on the centuries when the most serious of sacrifices and tributes were bestowed on our names. The people of our lands held us in such high regard that they were willing to give anything to appease us, and for their immense faith and loyalty, we loved our mortal children.

But now, in these modern times, scarcely a soul remembers us, much less can spell our names. (Humans were never particularly good at spelling.) I blame those filthy Spaniards and their disease, but there is nothing left for my family to do save to reeducate the world of our existence.

After all, humans owe much to our affection and gifts.

Why should you care? Well. To start off:

-We gave your world its most beloved of foods--chilli, tlilxochitl, tomatl, and xocolātl. Chile peppers, vanilla, tomatoes, and chocolate... Among other things.

-Our people once, through the gift of our wisdom, charted the heavens and accomplished advanced medical, architectural, and agricultural feats.

-We created calendars, the xiuhpohualli and the tonalpohualli, which, along with those of our Mayan brethren, were more accurate than the calendar of our thoughtless European invaders.

-We, too, conquered and ruled millions as the Romans did before us, and built pyramids and a thriving city of over 300,000 over the surface of a lake—the capital Tenochtitlan.

In conclusion, we are formidable, and our story is interesting enough to be told to the mortal occupants of this earth...

..Though, in your ignorance, you may not be worthy enough to know of us.

Just the same, we refuse to become phantoms of memory, and it is our wish that through this "Guild", my family will reclaim its respect and honor.

We will break down everything you need to be comfortably familiar with the mighty Aztec culture, from pronunciation to proper attire.

I hope that you will no longer be afraid of the length of our names.

My suggestion? You might instead contemplate why, out of fear of us, hearts were carved from the chests of the living so that mortals might gain our divine favor... "
