Welcome to Gaia! ::

I'd like to begin my post here with a small experience I had with my father. He called me an anarchist because of the people I hung around with and the way I dressed. Most would say this was an exxageration, even I, but to him it was the absolute truth.

In the world of the stereotypical, the ignorant, anarchy is pinned on anyone who is different or doesn't live by the set rules of society.

I laughed when he called me an anarchist. He told me I should become more familiar with the term.

The reason I bring my dad into this, is because he is the perfect example of today's fascist redneck conversative capitalist. (Bush is his hero.) This is a prime specimen of today's vote.

The worse and worse things seem to get with the American government, I find myself thinking about socialist views ... perhaps even communist views.

And yes, sometimes even anarchist views.

I'm not entirely clear on which party I fit in. I know I'm a liberal girl, a free thinker ... but I'm not sure if I fall into any other sort of category other than that.

But sometimes I'll sit and think anarchy doesn't seem that bad.

I've heard some people say 'Without laws, we'd parish."

But is that to say with rules, we won't?

Yes, there are some laws made to protect us, but not most. Some things are just forbidden because ... well, because "the man" says so. Or so it would seem.

I think it'd be fantastic if people from all sides could get together and form the government. Socialists, Communists, Capitalists, Anarchists .. all working together to form a compromising life for society. (In anarchists case, not exactly forming a governement ... not sure where I'm going with this ... it's just an idea.)

Some people may think this sounds absurd ... but if you really think about it, doesn't it sound better than what we have now?

Bush is an anarchist. His large corporate backers are largely immune from legal accountablity. The neo-con agenda was most concisely stated as "taxes are for little people." Unrestrained greed and using your economic power to dominate are the neo-con credos.

Bush II's policies are directed towards corrupting all law and removing faith in law.

In the terms of Dungeons and Dragons - Bush II is a Chaotic Evil regime.

Not saying I agree or disagree with you on this, but do you see this as a good thing or a bad thing?

Your logic is a stunning mess. The Bush administration is classic Big Government. If they're so anarchist, what the ******** is the USA PATRIOT act? The individual is losing rights not gaining them. The Bush administration is the antithesis of anarchy. In some respects it borders on fascism.

I'd say facism is closer to the truth ...

I see it as a bad thing. I'm Lawful Good but Feeble myself.

Rousseau's "noble savage" was a feeble fantasy.

I tend to agree with the description of primitive man's life before law - "nasty, brutish and short".

Fascist? Conservative capitalist? And you use Bush in the next sentance? I'm extremely puzzled

Oh, and just to clarify a misperception...there can be laws in anarchy, so long as they're consensual.
One of the nice things about Anarchy that I see is that socity would be more...unitfied. We'd beforced to defend ourselves from people who think they can run around and try to harm others or indulge in greed. Crimes like murder for example, my finaly have punishments that fit the crime.

In theory...it's wonderful...I'd love to live in a world where everyone can live together in relitive peace...however human greed is as much a part of human nature as the need to be free.
While aufheben promotes Anarchy, I'm gonna' have to remind people that Fascism is a government system which is centrist and is primarily socialist/populist(so far, what I've found, Fascists tend to be more socialist populists).

Well pretty much: Bush=/=Fascist.

The fascist governments only said they were socialist because the people wanted them to. Taking money from the rich seems like a great idea when you have NO money. If anything, "national socialism" means the government lets a few large corporations dominate the market, and they pay those corporations huge amounts of money to do their bidding.

Not exactly very social-istic.

On top of that they believed in tight social restrictions, or in other words, laws that "were good for the majority". Not to mention they killed Jews and Gypsies.

Well pretty much Bush=fascist.
Let me start off saying that even though I don't care for Bush, nor did I vote for him, I'm not only glad he won (because I didn't like kerry) but I think anyone who eqautes him with facism, or whatever, is an absolute moron, you idiots (the ones who call him a facist) don't know a goddamn thing about living in a country with facism, speak to some people who have actually lived through hitler's rule, my grandfather has, and he gets pissed off when stupid a** americans try to compaire him to hitler, or this country to nazi germany.

And Last, it's ok to protest, and be against the stuff that goes on this country if u dont agree with it, that's american, and as an american you have that right, but when you go around trying to bomb people, or put any 1 in danger because you cant control your anger thats when you need to be stopped. During that time when people were acting crazy and what not here in Manhattan a bunch of anarchist, I swear if I was a cop in that situation, there'd be a lot of hurt and or dead people, because they acting like stupid wild animals.

After Italy became nothing more than a puppet of Hitler's.
Without the Corporate State it is pretty much impossible for Bush to be a Fascist.
Fascism is not National Socialism.
Bush uses religion in his decisions, Fascism is for a complete seperation of church and state, or better yet, is "Anti-dogmatic".
Bush=/=Fascist.
President Bush, is not a fascist indeed. I'm a hard line leftist saying this. He his however, a very vocal and cookie cutter bourgeois. If I had to think of the modern day bourgeois, the first image that comes to mind would be one like President Bush. He is absolutely everything that the bourgeoisie has always wanted. Why do you think corperations love him so much? Why do his decisions often favor the rich business owner? Or just the rich in general?

Though Bush isn't a fascist, he is bourgeois, blatently and obviously, as nearly every member of the American government is. Fascism, I wouldn't doubt looks like a decent proposition to him, but as it is capitalism in the most abject decay, that road is not going to be traveled, especially since the American Bourgeoisie fears deeply the American workers, which are currently sleeping.

Fascists can have religion, but Hitler, who was a Hitlerist-fascist, did not embrace it as much as he could have.

I am familiar with many kinds of Anarchism, and to be truthful, the origonal Anarchist, Joseph Pierre Proudhon, although opposed by Karl Marx et al, was very close to Marx's goals. It is just that Marx had very clear guide-lines to follow, as well as a strict social plan to acheive a society without need, capital, or private property. He also recognizes the existance of a class conflict, which seems lost on Proudhon. As well as realizing that humans must reproduce their own existance before they can do anything else. The society most anarchists envision, with petty artistans working freelancedly, is impossible in todays day and age without an extreme population drop. The other anarchist ideal, of modern society without government, cannot be done; else every citizen forms a social contract with eachother rather than a state and is totally on board and capable of doing so. Marx already has these things in place, as do his contemporaries. Through the proletarian state socialism will be achieved.
