What?
In short, we want to replace The Post Your Avatar Edits Thread with The New Avatar Edit Post and Discussion Thread.
Why?
Well, everyone at the Post Your Avatar Edits Sticky were... Having some troubles. See, because newbies kept bumping and spamming up the thread with "HOW DO I DO THIS?!" and such.
So we made a new thread, with first posts helpful to newbies. Links to tutorials, bases, some tips... That way, even if the newbies still asked 'how do I do this?' after skipping the first page, we can just say 'fist page. biggrin ' and not have to look up tutorials or explain anything time consuming.
Problem was, whether it was meant as a replacement or not, it WAS just a repeat thread, floating around and hoping to replace a sticky.
Well it didn't.
Around page 70 or so, our New, helpful, lively little thread was moved to the recycle bin.
The PM I got was nice enough - they said they had talked to mods about it before moving it, and sorry that it was moved, but it WAS a repeat thread.
But after knowing such a friendly place, and even making some friends, we don't WANT to go back to the sticky. It's annoying and messy, and infested with newbies - who aren't wrong to be newbies or anything... But...
At the sticky that's there now, there were only vague compliments, edit posts, and newbies asking how.
At our thread there was constructive critisism, friendly help, compliments, edit posts, discussion on edits, and - get this - less newbies than I could count on my fingers. Admittedly, since it was only around for 70 pages, that isn't TOO much of an accomplishment, but it was something.
So... This is us.
And we want our thread.

or we could start a petition and get all the editors from the old thread to sign it, present it very nice and neat to the mods with an explantion along the lines of
Dear Mods,
we had no intention of making a repeat thread but were in the process of getting all the old editors to migrate to this one so that the old one would be replaced. The older thread as you may have seen whilst browsing through is filled with quite a few off topic posts like bumping, how do i do this, etc. Therefore we created the newer thread with information in the first few posts as to how to edit, making it easy for new want to be editors.
The threads new owner is very kind and watchful, and listens to everyones views causing . She is also on much more and able to update the first posts with helpful tutorials. therefore we present you with the names of many editors both well known and not so well known that support the idea of this thread replacing the older version.

i'm sure if we got all the famous avi editors like saga? meriko ? and all of them to support the new thread then we would surely be able to get it replaced as our is better and many people already agree.
(And that was the inspiration for this petition. 3nodding )
And NO, we can't just ask Athena_chan to change her first posts. SHE HASN'T LOGGED IN SINCE DECEMBER. I don't think she'd see it. sweatdrop

It can't hurt anyone if we make this petition, right? Right. So this is our petition to replace the sticky with our thread. And if it dies, it dies, and if not, then hurray.
We'll see.

I am also boycotting the sticky. I have taken out all of my edits I have posted there, and I won't post anymore edits in there.
