Weapon(s): Staff with a stone set in the top of it. The stone is caged inside the carved wood, so it looks somewhat like a teardrop-shaped bird cage with a blue stone inside.
Clothes: Rhysta's clothes may vary, but she always wears a distorted-teardrop-shaped pendant of a blue/purple swirled color. Usually, her top is tight and green and her pants are loose and brown. She rarely wears a skirt, and if she does, it is in a situation where she needs to be dressed up. Thus, the usual color scheme would not hold true. She wears brown boots that come to her mid-calf and lace up on the inside side.

Personality: Quiet and withdrawn, Rhysta is a watcher. Sarcastic and skeptical, she tends to wait until people proove themselves before trusting them fully. Very much motivated in her own self-interests...she has one main goal and anything that doesn't contribute to that is a minor concern.
Miscellaneous: Her entire left cheek is scarred from a burn she recieved when she landed face-down on a small pile of coals. If you want to draw a scene from her history, make sure you draw her hair shorter. If you have any questions about details, I can tell you more than is written in her bio. It is purposely vague for RP purposes. The Pendant is very important; all of her relatives on her mother's side have one that they pass down through their family. These pendants together form the key to sealing a dark elf away where he can do no harm; this elf is the one that she's looking for now. She's a mage...just in general. Not devoted to an element. Rather, she manipulates the magic energy that all living things give off in small amounts that accumulates in reservoirs. She can draw energy from herself or from her environment.
History: Rhysta grew up with her elven mother and her younger brother on the outskirts of an elven community. Her mother was not accepted fully into the community because of her relationship with a human man (Rhysta and her brother's father). When Rhysta was ten she was given a pendant by her mother and told to keep it sacred and guard it with her life, which she did diligently.
A few years later, Rhysta awoke to a searing heat on her chest and the cries of her mother, shouting for her and her brother to get out of the house. She ran out her door and tried to reach her mother's room, but flames blocked the hallway. She ran down the stairs to her brother's room and woke him up, pulling him behind her as she tried to get through the house to the door. The ceiling was burning from upstairs and the supports weakening, and before they reached safety it collapsed on top of both of them, a burning crossbeam falling between her and her brother.
When she awoke in the early dawn hours, she was lying halfway under a hedge in the forest, clear of the rubble of the burned house, her cheek searingly painful. She lifted her face and found she'd landed on a small pile of hot coals and burned the entire surface of her left cheek. Her brother was nowhere to be found, and neither was her mother; she assumed she had lost them both in the fire. The pendant was still around her neck, but she had no knowledge of what it was, just that she must keep it safe. And to do that she had to learn to fend for herself; so she did just that.
Rhysta found a teacher, or rather, the teacher found her, and taught her the use of her magic. He also taught her more physical uses of the staff that held her focus-stone, and she soon became a proficient staff fighter. Now she searches for the dark elf that she has learned was the cause of that fire, determined to unlock the power of the pendant she bears and avenge her family.
Addendum: These are the result of questions people have asked about Rhysta's past.
What is her brother's name? His name was Jaysen before the fire. Afterwards, long after Rhysta had awoken and left, he managed to crawl out of the rubble. He was badly burned and had amnesia, and one word was burned into his memory: Cirrav. So he turned it around and called himself Varric, subsequently wandering off. Rhysta knows nothing about this change; she thinks he died in the fire. He wouldn't recognize her if he met her, although she would seem familiar to him.
What is her mother's name? The funny thing about Rhysta is that she doesn't have a very well-developed past. The original story was that a group of highschool RPers got sucked into their own RP world. Rhys was a player's new character and he hadn't developed her past yet. So, as far as her Mother's name goes, she was full elf so it would be something complicated and weird...how 'bout Kathalia? Also, her mother can perform some smaller feats of magic such as light and heating.
What did she wear when she was a child? As a child, she would probably wear more green and blue and more dresses and skirts than she does now, but they would be fairly simple; they weren't rich, especially since her mother was cast out of the tribe for marrying a human.
Did she have the staff? (it being wood, did it grow with her?) or did she earn it with her mentor? The staff was a gift from her mentor. It simply acts as a focus-stone and a weapon.
Did she have powers at all? (magical potential) She had magic, but it was uncontrolled. She could influence things, especially when she got emotional, but didn't know how to focus her power.
Does the pendant have anything to do with her magic? The pendant is actually only associated with a certain type of magic. Every family in the Cyllianorschiake clan has an identical one, and together they are reservoirs of power that keep an evil dark elf (or rather, kept...) sealed away. If a pendant gets into the wrong hands, the dark elf could escape, as long as a member of the family it was taken from is alive. When the last member of the family that owns a pendant dies, the power of the pendant dissipates and is distributed to the remaining pendants. Thus, all of the Cyllianorschiakes are guardians of this seal. Rhysta knows nothing of this until she is told the story by her mentor, which is when she finds out about that dark elf. His name is Cirrav, by the way.
If all the wearers of the pendants die, what happens to the dark elf that (hopefully) would be sealed away? Is there any other way to destroy/disable a pendant? Well, we hope that the families have at least one surviving member to pass on the bloodline.
xd If the family is wiped out, The power goes to another live pendant. So, I guess if ALL of them were wiped out, all the power would eventually be stored in one pendant and then when the bearer's family was destroyed the energy would be released and the elf would be freed. Sure the pendants can be destroyed. They are simply highly protected by their own magic; but if can get rid of all the protective spells, the pendant could be easily shattered with a hammer, or by similar means. It's just stone. When that happens, the power of the pendant dissipates just like the family died, but it sends more of a shock through the network (providing an opportunity for glitches in the seal...which happened recently before the fire, oddly enough).
How did the fire start? Can I have someone reporting to superiors about the result? I can't tell you how the fire started without ruining part of the plot, but a mysterious shadow/figure works fine. The person reporting to her superiors would be a female dark elf, and she believes that Rhysta is the only one who escaped (and thus is the last of the bloodline).
What about her teacher? Can you give soem information about him? His name is Quatrano, Quat for short (pronounced Kat). He is of the same family she is (Cyllianorschiake), which is how he knows about her pendant. And since I've been using make pronouns, you've probably figured out that he's male. ^^ He's significantly older than she is, but full elven blood so he still looks young.
As for appearance, he has very fair, short hair, a little shaggy (one to two inches long in places). It's so blonde it's almost white. He's a little shorter than her, though just as slim. He also has a staff, though it's different from hers. That's up for interpretation. His house has a workroom for practicing magic, which is where he taught most of her lessons. I assume he has the same color eyes as Rhysta, because that's a family trait, but I don't quite remember. (On of my firends made him up)
