Welcome to the first Clearly Canadian auction series, featuring the 7 Deadly Sins!

Up for auction today we have a purple bottle that'd pop its cork with self love if it weren't sealed shut. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Pride.

Pride (aka Vanity)

What it is: Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

Why you do it: Well-meaning elementary school teachers told you to "believe in yourself."

Your punishment in Hell will be: You'll be broken on the wheel.

Associated symbols & suchlike: Pride is linked with the horse and the color violet.

Ruled By: Pride is ruled by the sign of the Sun.

So why make Pride a semi-custom? Well, as noted before, it's the sin from which the others arise. Making it the top sin, so why not bestow one of the top levels of these bottles on it? Plus, purple's my favorite color. biggrin

This is a semi-custom auction, which means you not only get to choose its gender and name, you also get to choose its species.

Grow into pets of various Canadian species of animal. The previous deadly sins had assigned species (for instance, Gluttony is a moose, Envy is a narwhale, etc). This one can grow into any one of the 6 species available in the shop (whichever species the winner wants).
