The twinkle of the stars provides little illumination to the vast blackness of space. Far off, close, and anywhere inbetween, the giant balls of gas flicker and flame, living out their solitary lives in constant persuit of the ultimate: the supernova. Among the stars, other bodies reside; an asteroid glides gently along, going noplace in particular, and many planets revolve serenly, all in different stages of formation. Some are bursting with lava-spewing volcanos, while others settle happily in their completeness, with earth, water, air, and life.

One planet just like any other, and yet at the same time so uniquely different from every other body that may ever be created, orbits one of the twinkling stars; it has passed the lava-like stage of developement, and possesses two fully-developed continents, one large ocean, and quite the example of unique life.

Both continents settled on the planet are quite large; if they were combined, they would make up about one-fourth of the entire planet. Although the rest of the heavenly body is made up of one large ocean, the two continents are only separated by a piece of ocean about as large as half of one of the continents. Occasionally, the life forms inhabiting the planet will travel back and forth via boat or plane, interacting with each other or simply trading.

There are many different examples of life, in this particular planet; mammals, reptiles, aves, insects, as well as many examples of vegetation. Among all these amazing creatures, two divisions of the mammalian kingdom have evolved past their bretheren; one resides on the dry, dusty continent of Graphiret, while the other chooses to make its home on the rainy lands of Jeu'tsu.

The residents of Graphiret are variants of the fox; a sly, wary canine, with coarse fur, and a quick tongue. Their compliments, making their way in Jeu'tsu are close cousins of the red panda, a delicate species with more gentle, honorable tendancies. Both live in a love/hate relationship, as any beings of higher intelligence would; contact between the two continents was made several hundred years ago, and has been sustained with only normal bumps of dipliomacy.

With all of its oddities, uniqueness, and interesting species, this planet with its two continents, Graphiret and Jeu'tsu, is doing quite well; its inhabitants are mostly content, there aren't any major planetary changes, and there has not yet been any mention of nuclear weapons. Hopefully everything will keep going as it is, and the many beings living on the planet may have the chance to adventure, to discover, to hate, to love: to live.!

If you would like to go to see our sister country, Graphiret,

A gentle breeze swept through the area, causing the tall rice plants to sway slowly this way and that. Barely a sound was heard, save the gentle lapping of the waves of water as they sloshed against the boundaries of the farms. A dragonfly took a moment out of its busy day to land on the edge of a large, straw plane, fanning its wings.

Suddenly, the plane began to move, instantly starting the dragonfly away; a slender form rose up from where it had been praying at a small, stone alter, its straw hat waving gently with the breeze. The creature took a moment to stretch, waving its long, striped tail behind it, and flattening both its front and back paws, causing them to pop. Two pert ears flipped this way and that, catching the sounds of the morning with ease. After another bow toward the alter it turned, making its way down a dusty road, toward one of the rice farms.

"Ai! Mekoshi, you're back already!" A high, happy voice rang out from a tiny shack, and a rice-paper door slid quickly to the side, revealing another creature, although this time more feminine. She, like her companion, had a striped tail and paws, although her ears were more rounded, and her hips were slightly larger. The two embraced, pressing their noses together for a moment, before drawing back. The more masculine of the two creatures sighed, removing his large straw hat.

"Korika, I prayed so hard today...I prayed with all of my might, for a better harvest, and peace and prosperity amongst our people..." His ears drooped a little, betraying his dispair to his mate. "The gods are our only hope now, my mate..."

Both creatures brought their heads up, turning toward their own plot of land; there were barely any stalks rising from the water, and they didn't look like they would make it until the rice could grow to maturity and be harvested. Mice and bugs ate away at the plants, making the final harvest for the people very little.

Korika smiled softly, rubbing her belly, which protruded a little. "Even if we don't have enough to make a profit off of, in town, we will have enough to feed our family with..." Mekoshi turned back to his mate, hugging her gently, before wading off into the water, to check the plants.

Meanwhile, many miles away from the peaceful farm, a long-cherished tradition was being upheld; two of the panda-like creatures faced each other, long swords grasped in their paws. Both wore the traditional dress for the occasion; a long piece of fabric that was wrapped around the wearer and held tight with a belt around the waist. Two enormous sleeves allowed arms to be free, and the way the garmet flowed near the legs, like a dress, enabled adaquite mobility.

The light from the rising sun glinted off of the two fighter's swords as they advanced slowly toward each other. One creature, slightly taller and thinner than his opponent, slid across the dirt in the traditional footwear of the time; his socked feet were strapped tightly to wooden sandals that made him rise a few inches higher than he already was, increasing his omonous presence.

The other fighter was small, and not quite as well formed as his opponent; he was an adolescent of the species, and was a mix between a total animal and the creature he was fighting. His stance was more hunched, making him look like he would be more comfortable on all fours, rather than on the two he was standing on. The sword he held tightly between his paws seemed to be too heavy for him; every once in a while he would falter and bring it down a little, and he was panting heavily, long before the fight would start.

A breeze slipped through the trees from the general direction of a patch of rice farms, swishing the leaves of the trees surrounding the fighters. The larger one sighed, raising his sword for a moment, before sliding it into a sheath attached to his belt. "You..." He said, waving a hand toward his smaller opponent. "I understand your feelings, and why you wish to fight me; nevertheless, you are not ready..." His long ears flopped gently as he nodded. "Get back to the Dojo; I don't want to see your face again until the practice room is spotless..."

The adolescent creature looked up, defiance flashing in his eyes. Before he could speak, however, the larger panda-like being's sword was at his throat, stopping any and all attempts by the smaller one to speak. Defiance melted into fear, and when the sword was raised from his throat, the smaller creature sped off into the forest, no doubt toward the Dojo.

Meanwhile, just a few miles away from the forest and the rice farms, the marketplace was preparing for a busy day of sales. Vendors in the open-air market set up their shops, placing the best of what they had to offer out front, coupled with a few less-expensive items; in Jeu'tsu, the market was a world of its own, filled with brutal competition.

A few early-risers started to filter in from the farms, sleepily gazing at the items of the day. In a few hours, the same lazy marketplace would be abuzz with the shouts and calls of the vendors, the haggling of the customers, and the sounds of children playing just outside the area while their parents shopped. Everything anyone would ever need could be bought here, for a price, so people rarely left the area; if something couldn't be found there right away, chances are someone could find it for you, if you gave up a couple days wages or a few bags of rice.

"Hey!" A gruff voice called over the growing crowd of shoppers, and a paw raised, waving back and forth. "Hey, you, over there!" The owner of the hand waved it faster, almost annoyed, until he caught sight of a glint on the other side of the marketplace. Another smaller, more dainty paw rose slowly; the glint came from the newly-risen sun reflecting off of the many rings and bracelets adorning the limb. The owner of the smaller paw made its way over to the rather loud vender, clutching a wooden basket to her chest.

When the two met, the vendor's lips curled back to form a wide grin, and he chuckled softly. "I never thought you could do it, Hika, but you did..." The large paw reached out, roughly grasping the wooden basket, and pulling it behind the shop front. After a quick inspection of the contents of the basket, the vendor's head shot up, his eyes scanning for any customers. When it was apparent that no one was currently interested in his wares, he reached down, pulling out a lumpy bag. Hika grasped the bag, greedily opening it; inside, several gold and silver coins sat, shining a little with the small amount of light that filtered through.

With a little squeal of delight, the panda-like creature closed the bag, smiled up at her partner in business, and melted quietly into the crowd. As soon as she was out of the main marketplace, Hika skuttled up a tree, giggling softly. "With all this..." She whispered, opening the bag again. "We can live happily forever!" With that thought, she jumped down, her tail waving happily behind her.

By the afternoon Hika had arrived home, and was busy showing her amazed parents her 'find.' Knowing her species' honorable ways, she made up the story that she had helped a lord with his farm work for the day, and he had given her the bag of coins in return.

"Oh, Hika!" Her mother cried for the tenth time that day, hugging her daughter. A large smile adorned the larger panda-like creature's face, as well as the more masculine being standing beside her. The family took a few more moments to bask in happiness, before the two adults started outside, to plan what they would do with the money.

"Korika..." Mekoshi began, frowning softly; he had doubts about his daughter's story as to how she had gotten the gold, but the family was doing quite badly, so he resigned to look into it later, after most of the gold had been spent. "This is a wonderful gift that the gods have bestowed on us...We must treat it with reverance and joy, and pray with everything we have every time we pass an alter..." He turned to her, suddenly looking serious. "You will do this, my mate, won't you?" A few tense moments followed, where the more feminine of the two gazed over the dying rice farm, lost in thought.

Korika turned to her mate, nodding slowly. "I will..." She whispered, bowing her head, and closing her eyes. The mood was immediatly lightened, and the couple continued their stroll along the outskirts of their farm, planning what they would do with their new fortune like children in a candy store.

S o c i a l B e h a v i o u r || The red panda is most active in the early morning and late afternoon spending most of the day resting in trees conserving their energy as their bamboo diet has a low energy content.
Red pandas are normally solitary creatures but form pairs in the breeding season.

D i e t || Although classed as a carnivore, red pandas eat mainly bamboo shoots, grass and fruit with the occasional egg, insect or small animal.

How cute! Your red panda is a couple of dumplings. :3 Most likely, the dumplings will somehow resemble your panda's furthur stages in some way. Your panda will be dumplings for just a couple of days. Be careful with them! Make sure no one eats them. D:

User Image
Homg! How cuuuute! n___n; Your panda came out of its dumpling...s, and is now a wee baby. Its eyes are shut until its next stage, so it is highly dependant on anything of a mother or father figure it can find (unless your panda came from a breeding, therefore it does have a mother and father). Your panda will be at this stage for about a week. Of course, it'll grow to its next stage faster if you roleplay a bit. :3
(Female is on the left, male is on the right)

User Image
Your panda is now at its child stage. S/he's very playful, so roleplaying with another panda (or fox) will make it happy. They'll usually be at this stage for up to two weeks. As usual, roleplaying will make him/her grow faster. :3
(Female is on the left, male is on the right)

User Image
Wow! o: Your panda can stand on two feet! How amazing. Well, s/he's at its adolescent stage, and can stand on its hind legs for a little while, but it will still look a little hunched over. Normally, your panda will remain at this stage for its entire life. Lots of roleplay and attention are the two keys to getting to the anthro stage. Or, if you don't have the time for that stuff, there should be an item later available that will morph your panda into the next stage that is available for purchase. We'll see. :3
(Male is on the left, female is on the right)

User Image
Amazing! Anthro red pandas! A very rare stage (or so we hope). The only ways to get to this stage is lots of attention and roleplay, or purchasing the item that will soon be purchase-able. xD You can also get the item through things such as events. So, just wait on it, eh. :3 (Pet trades most likely will automatically get to this stage).
(Female is on the left, male is on the right)

1. Respect ALL of Gaia's rules and terms of service. Every rule that applies to Gaia, applies here. Don't follow the Gaian rules, then you're not following our rules, and that means you're on the gray or blacklist.

2. Don't steal our art! This one speaks for itself. We bought the lineart and all that jazz, so don't you steal it.

3. Don't advertise or sell your own items in this thread. Only affiliates may post their banners and such here. And it is NOT the exchange, this is the breedables forum. o:<

4. Don't edit your posts in a flatsale. Doing this will result in getting graylisted for one month. That means you cannot participate in any events that go on in that time. Yes, we are watching!

5. Do not ask if you can work here. The only occasion that you may ask if you can have a job is when we are looking for applicants for a certain position. Otherwise, Chickies, Alex Kerrith, Torikonero, and L-kun have everything covered.

6. Do not beg for a pet. This will get you graylisted for one month. Asking for a free pet is baaaad, unless you are a close friend/you are joking around.

Q: How exactly would I go about getting a red panda or fox of my own?
A: To receive a red panda of your own, you can get one in a flatsale, auction, raffle, event, or bribe.

Q: How much will it take to bribe ya?
A: -shrugs- Expensive? ;o Serious inquiries only.

Q: So, why are there two different threads?
A: It's rather confusing, actually, but if you stay tuned, you'll understand why. The Pacific Link is one world. There are only two countries in the world, and large bodies of water. Actually, a lot of the planet is water. Anyways, the two countries are Jeu'tsu (this one) and Graphiret. The country Jeu'tsu is based on the Chinese/Korean/Japanese cultures, while the Graphiret country is based off of the American/European cultures. Now, there are two different threads because we didn't want the two countries to clash, but only at first. Now, you see, the certs that you receive with your pet on them (if you get a pet) is a passport of some type. It asks for the basic passport information, name, sex, date of issue (which is really the date of birth, in this case), all that jazz. Ours is tweaked up a bit. Now, we still ask for photo identification, however, you cannot receive photo identification until your pet is at its last stage. Unless Alex and I decide against it, if you wish for photo identification, you will have to pay a small fee. With the photo identification, you are allowed to take a 'boat' to the other country (since they are not connected), or, in other words, you are allowed to freely roleplay in the other country (thread) with the other species of animals.

Q: Soo, can a fox grow up in Jeu'tsu, or can a red panda grow up in Graphiret?
A: There will be instances where one species has the, shall I say, privilege to grow up in a different culture. This will effect how they are when they are older. I'm sure when they are at their child and adolescent stages, they will begin to wonder why they are so different than all the other civilians in the country they are in, and when they are adults, they will be very confused when/if they get their photo identification and are able to travel to the country they "should have" been born and raised in.

Q: Are these pets roleplay required?
A: Nope. However, I'm sure that there will be "perks" for intensive roleplayers, as always. Perhaps free clothing or hairstyles of their choice, maybe free breeding spots. Who knows.

Q: Even if I don't own a red panda or fox, may I still roleplay?
A: Of course! We will always welcome roleplay, whether you have a pet or not.

Q: Are there any humans allowed?
A: NO! No. Definitely not. No humans. Only red pandas and foxes.

Q: Hmmm... the name I want for my pet is taken. Can I still have it?
A: No, sorry. Names are on a first come, first serve basis.

Q: Where should I roleplay?
A: In the thread that your pet was assigned (either Jeu'tsu or Graphiret). 3nodding

Q: May I own more than one?
A: Sure.

Q: Why was a free pet given to whatshisname? D: Nofair.
A: Actually, it is fair. Very fair. Chickies bought this lineart all on her own, she should be able to do whatever she pleases with it. Same goes with Alex.

Q: Do we direct link?
A: Sure.

Q: Ew, pandas and foxes are so overused. ):
A: Okay.

Q: Can we affiliate?
A: Yeah, sure. Post/PM the code and we'll get it up here ASAP.

Q: Why are there ambassadors? D:
A: Because since Alex and Chickies aren't able to show their awesome powers through being humans (no humans allowed, remember? ;o), they made ambassadors and second-in-commands. x:

Q: So, I own one, maybe I have a family. Can I make up where my home is?
A: Sure. It can be on a land of rice patties, as the family is in the stories, or it can be in some shack in the woods.

Q: I have a question that is not posted here. Where/who should I ask?
A: Posting in one of the threads is fine. You can also private message this account (The Pacific Link). Please do NOT private message Chickies or Alex.

User Image

Q: How much does it cost in a flatsale?
A: 5,000 gold 3nodding

Q: Do you accept items?
A: No! Pure gold only.

Q: Where should I send trades?
A: Please send them to this account (The Pacific Link), unless otherwise specified.

Q: Can you put one on hold for me?
A: No. e_______e;

Q: How long do we have until we pay you?
A: You will have a 24 hour period of time for the trade to be sent and confirmed.

Q: So, what goes on in a flatsale?
A: I request that everyone stop posting FIVE minutes before the start time. When the flatsale starts, WAIT until I post a nice and big GO. Post before the go, you won't get one. It's a first come, first serve basis, unless otherwise noted. In your post, please put which one you are going for, the name of it (if you don't know the name yet, that's fine), and who will be owning it. Put please and thanks in there, too. ninja

Q: Can I order one for my friend?
A:Yep. Just put their name in the owners bit in the post.

Q: Can I order more than one pet in one post?
A: NO.

Q: Can I order more than one in a flatsale?
A: No.

Q: I have a question that isn't here.

A: Donation letters and their items, JU items from 2003, aaaand that's it! We also accept Fairy Wings at 35k.

Q. What price guide do you use to value items?
A. The mid-value of the item at Lucky Devil Price Guide.

A: There are roleplay events, there are holiday events, there are trivia events, there are allllll kind of events! You'll just have to wait and see what they are when they come. 3nodding

Q. I have a question not listed here. D: CONSIDERING YOU DON'T HAVE MANY FREQUENTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS UP FOR THIS SECTION.
A. Sorry, sorry! Post the question in one of the threads or private message me, and it'll get answered ASAP.

While exploring Jeu'tsu, you come across a small village, mostly inhabited by rice farmers, and the occasional Samurai. Your nose picks up the scent of delicious rice balls, and your stomach tells you to follow the scent, so you do. After picking your way through a dense forest of bamboo tress, you finally catch a glimpse of your destination; an open-air market lies a few hundred yards from where you are standing, and from the looks of it, the afternoon is a time for selling and buying. What must be almost a hundred panda-like creatures mill around the many stalls, carefully choosing their purchases for the day. Vendors yell and wave their arms in the air, trying to convince everyone that their wares are the best in the area.

By the time you reach the market your stomach is telling you to grab whatever's closest and chow down, so you quickly make your way over to the vendor of the rice balls you smelled earlier. After a quick meal, you decide to wander around a bit; after all, something might catch your eye, and you do want to know the lay of the land, now that you're a citizen. Before you can go very far, you're hailed over by an elderly vendor with the largest straw hat you've ever seen. As he turns to greet you, the back of his enormous hat lightly taps the tips of a smaller female's ears.

"Ahh, hello, newcomer!" The vendor's smile is almost as large as his hat, and his greying ears twitch slowly with excitement. "You don't look very good, buy some clothes." His bluntness takes you off guard, and you frown slightly, crossing your arms. The elderly vender doesn't seem to notice your displeasure; he turns away from you, waving his hands along kimonos, yukatas, straw hats, and other assorted clothing items. Before you can comment either way on the items he is selling, he turns back to you, frowning. "You know, you really need help, newcomer, talk to my wife." You twitch your nose in mild suprise, another guesture the elderly panda-man seems not to notice. He waves to another vendor, this time an elderly female; she makes her way slowly, with the assistance of a bamboo cane, over to you, and immediatly looks displeased.

"You look terrible; buy clothes, get hair done." She says, grabbing your hand and leading you back to her stall. Here, a different kind of merchandise is sold, along with a service; wigs of all different sizes, shapes, and colors hang everywhere, and nestled into a little corner of the shop, a few lounge chairs with tubs of water sit quietly. A small female skuttles up, quickly dropping a shimmering coin into the elderly vendor's hand. Almost immediatly, three other panda-like creatures seem to rise from the woodwork of the shop, coming toward the female. You blink, wondering if this is a bad thing, but before you can say anything, the female plops down in one of the lounge chairs, closing her eyes. The three attendants, as they look to be, go to work splashing water from the tub onto her hair, and rubbing it down with some sort of sweet-smelling soap.

The elderly female smiles, waving a hand toward the hair-washers. "Those are my best workers; they make your hair clean, comfortable, and beautiful, no question." She nods, patting you on the back gently. "Take your time; choose wisely. My husband and I are here to help you look good, with clothes and hair." With that, she turns back to her stall, giving you space to contemplate making any purchases.

I bet you're here about pet trades and customs, so I'll get right down to business. <3

User Image

Chickies' pet trades are: open!

You're probably wondering what pets I'd trade for, no questions asked, and all that good stuff. Well, here are somet things about pets that I like and I don't like.

. I don't like required roleplay. It just stresses me out too much. I don't mind if you have it so we should roleplay every once in a while, or just stop by, but having to roleplay a lot turns me off, no matter how much I love the pets.

. I enjoy both animals and anthro type things. Either works, really. Humans are cool, too!

. They've gotta be pretty. Not sparklesparkle pretty, I mean good lineart. -picky <3-

Some pets that I'd trade for, no quesitons asked...
- Angelic Sion (moohahaha)
- SoA
- Walrus Lurve
- Kitsuagi
- Talaye
- Puri
- more, probably x:

You can, of course, offer a pet trade if your pet isn't on there. Don't feel bad if I decline! I'm a picky pea when it comes to that.

User Image

You can feel free to offer for a custom pet. Just send me a private message with a decent offer, and I'll either take or I won't. Mind you, I don't want hockey masks. D: They aren't cool.

Alex's pet trades are: open!

So's ya wanna know the 4-1-1 about pet trades, huh? Well, I'll do my very best to give you an idea of what kinds of pets I like and dislike. There're always exceptions though, so

. Alex hates required roleplay. Simple as that. The creative writing centre of my brain is like, atrophied beyond all repair. That's not to say I'll turn you down for it, though. If they're just so pretty that I can't resist, or if you're willing to cut me some slack with RP, I probably wouldn't hold it against you.

. I'm really more of a fan of non-anthro pets, but that's also not set in stone. Just a general preference.

. I like good art. But who doesn't?

-I collect pets coloured like australian shepherds. Exhibit A. Exhibit B. If I accept your trade and we're doing a custom for a custom, I can say with 99% certainty that that is how I'll want it coloured. ;3

-I like cute things. Cliche? If you say so. Again, just my personal preference.

Some pets that I'd trade for, no quesitons asked...
- Feli
- ....a Female Cait, perhaps? -bricked for hoarding them- XD;
- Tala
- Kura
- Kaju
-Shaoilin Wolf
-SoA

You can, of course, offer a pet trade if your pet isn't on there. Don't feel bad if I decline! It's not that I hate your offer or anything, there's just not all that much I'm looking for right now so I'm very picky. :0

Okay, listen up and listen good. There is no specific price for a custom. How this'll work is that if you really must have one, PM me an offer. If I like it, I will accept. If not, I um, won't. BUT, here's the catch. If I accept your offer, you may NOT tell others how much the offer was for. If everyone knew, then they would just offer me the same amount, and we may as well have just set a fixed price to begin with. So no cheating! -_=

Feel free to include letters and items in your offers, I particularly love letters. Hell, I may even like some shop items, if they're pretty. However, people offering hockey masks need not apply. XP
