I didn't sit very close to a monitor so my pictures aren't very good, and I'm sure somebody with better ones will come along shortly. 3nodding Also, I probably don't remember every single thing they mentioned, and don't feel like writing it all up. But I will answer your questions, because I enjoy that. whee But first, pictures!
These are NPCs from the upcoming Tattoo parlor. Yep, tattoos and piercings are in the works. 4laugh You can't read the names, and I don't remember the guy's sweatdrop but the girl is Natasha. From the looks of it, the dude does tats and the girl does piercings.

L0cke thought it would be cute to dress up as his avatar. The others thought it would be cute to do the straps. xd
A rather poor quality shot of the background for the tattoo parlor, and two examples. The girl has a tribal tattoo, while the guy has a Yakuza inspired dragon. Also, they mentioned that bald heads would no longer be a glitch, but be implemented as a feature, as you can get tattoos on your head. Also also, the tattoos will come in different parts, so you can mix and match from different sets. L0cke said he wanted to have the classic "mom" in a heart tattoo. whee
As you're probably aware, the housing is done with 3D models. They had impressive animations of an Angelic Bed and Demonic Chair rotating in 3D, but the video recording on my camera couldn't zoom in. But yes, they do intend to introduce RARE housing items in the near future, such as the afformentioned items and the ones seen here: the Angelic Chair, the Doom Coffin (bed) and the Man Eating Plant. They also had a Bat Phone, a Kiddie Pool, and a TV (which I seem to have failed in photographing sweatdrop ), and said they hoped to impliment animations into the housing, such as the phone ringing and the TV flickering on.
GINO RETURNS! The admins were pretty vague as far as plot progression was concerned, but they did say they were going to give us another update in the next two or three weeks. In this picture, it looks like Gino went through puberty. eek
Gaia towns. This was very impressive. Lanzer dissapeared from the panel hall, and reappeared in avatar form in a demo of the Gaia Towns. 4laugh He then proceeded to walk around and display emoticons, a la Ragnarok. L0cke and VO will be putting in many hours redrawing all the items from behind and in a sitting position to accomodate this.

There were some other things I can't really remember too well. They did say that Gothic Lolita type stuff will be coming out in the next item update. ("When will we see gothic lolita type items?" "Er, funny you should mention that..." wink Uhm, that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Ask me questions and if there's anything else important I'll edit this first post. 3nodding

Again, it's not very good, but if you look closely, at the top, you can see Reinhart, the miner mentioned before.
Edit3: I should look at these pictures before I post them. sweatdrop You can actually see the miner pretty clearly... OH! They also showed a concept picture of the gambino tower toppling over, and they said that it wasn't actually a tower. It was an elaborate and enormous device designed for the specific purpose of planting a mansion in Durem... eek ninja
Edit4: OMG hat's will be sold through the Gaia store soon, sometime next month I believe. Also, in the pic of the entire panel, the admins from left to right are:

Edit6: The music store in Barton will sell musical instruments for your avatars, and will also be involved when the admins add music to Gaia. Oh, and I don't know if there was any speculation about this still, but the weapon store in Gambino will be where you buy weapons, once those are implemented.

Edit8: Ma-Ajmala and Druki have posted better, clearer pictures. 3nodding There's also a video of the Gaia towns preview floating about, but many people are having problems viewing it. confused
Edit9: In regards to the battle system the admins made it very clear that everything was still very much up in the air. All that was confirmed is that there will be different player classes. In regards to the quest system, Lanzer said that it's goal was to replace the current practice of questing for items, so that people would no longer have to save up rediculous amounts of gold for the items they want. He didn't say what the quests would be like.
Edit10: Gaia personals will most likely be returning, although not any time soon, as the admins are not focusing much (if any) attention on it at the moment. They said that when it does return, it will function more as a friend finder (along the lines of myspace or friendster), where users can input things they're looking for in a friend and search the database based on those requirements.
Edit11: Just to make things clear, OMG hats for your avatars will NOT be available from NPC shops. The OMG hats that will be for sale soon are actual real-life hats, and will be sold through the Gaia Online Store.
