Kaju are born from magical peaches grown on a magical tree, although the origin of this special tree is a mystery. Most peaches hatch within 2-10 days of falling from the tree, although this can vary.
Kaju pups grow into adults with time, some sooner than others. Every few days, Kaju pups receive Maturity Stars; once all ten stars are obtained, the Kaju grows.
Every sub-species of Kaju follows the same pattern of growth: peach, pup, adult.
{ Pet Care }
Taking care of Kaju is a fairly simple matter. They absolutely adore sweet things, especially fruit, with peaches being their utmost favorite. (Regular peaches, mind; don't ever try to feed a Kaju a magical Kaju peach, less you want them to despite you unto eternity.)
Kaju speak in their own language (which is really just a series of chittering and 'kyuuu' noises), although these sounds can be understood by almost every other species of pet; only humans cannot understand it. However, once a Kaju gains five Intelligence Stars, they will be able to learn the human language in addition to keeping the knowledge of their native one. Until then, older Kaju are often more than happy to translate on behalf of you and your pup.
In addition to the listed importance of each stat, we reserve the right to use these in random events of our making... such as an intelligence or beauty contest. We also reserve the right to give random perks to those with higher stats in certain categories, like Loyalty.
Personality
The personality stat reflects how well a Kaju is developed through roleplay, and stars are only given away to those caught roleplaying and/or chatting dedicatedly in the thread. Kaju must have 3+ personality stars to breed.
Beauty
The beauty statistic is useful when purchasing items for your Kaju, as some items require a certain amount of initial beauty, whereas others offer discounts to those who are more - or possibly less - naturally beautiful.
Intelligence
Intelligence is important because a Kaju cannot learn English until it has earned at least five stars. Intelligence is gained through the answering of riddles found in books (which may be purchased at the Item Shoppe or found randomly in the thread).
Maturity (Pups Only)
The maturity stat shows how quickly or slowly your Kaju is growing into his or her adult form. Kaju must also have full maturity to breed.
Loyalty (Adults Only)
Loyalty is a measure of how devoted a Kaju remains to his or her mate, children and friends. This is gained mostly by roleplaying and chatting in-thread, but also by things such as... when your Kaju breeds, how many of the pups are kept, compared to the ones given away or sold, and also by the actions of the new owners themselves. This stat is important because higher loyalty results in a higher amount of pups with each breeding session.
The following listing describes the various first generations of Kaju. Offspring Kaju (Gen 2+) can be any species, depending on their parents. Gen 2+ Kaju are
always from breedings; they are never parentless or custom.
Generic
These are your basic, every day Kaju. They have regular lineart with no outstanding edits and are very common.
Hybrid
Hybrid Kaju are a mixture of Generic and Mutated. They have regular lineart as a base, but are heavily linedited. These are extremely rare.
Mutated
Mutated Kaju have unique lineart (per group) and are much more rare than Generic Kaju. At the moment, there have only been two discovered types of Mutated Kaju; Demonic and Angelic.
Limited/Special Edition
Limited and Special Edition Kaju are Generic Kaju with minor lineart edits. Instead of being unique and one-of-a-kind, however, these are always released in sets of 5 or more, and are given away during holidays and other special events.
