Lucifer Force
Luciel coughed, stumbling back into the Fountain Soul HQ. In her hands she clutched another precious soul orb. Its Keeper, she was told, was a woman named Shiaree. Lu shook herself until the initial shock wore off. She would never get used to being suddenly transported by those ridiculous fairies...
The orb she held was in a soft felt bag, a golden tie-string around the top. Her gray eyes scanned the room, wondering what sort of vision the Keeper would have.
"Is Shia around...?" she wondered aloud.
Shiaree d'Liriel was not certain precisely why she was in the location she suddenly found herself in. She was, of course, accustomed to this sort of thing happening to her, however. The Spiritual Grimorum-- a book which had left her with the charge of a strange egg turned wolf-creature turned chibi, rather sour-looking boy often had teleported her rather randomly to strange locations. Or simply demanded that she visit them textually.
Still, she was not used to having sudden impulses to travel, as opposed to teleportation. But she found herself standing in the building, with a strange golden-haired woman holding a bag before her and absolutely no memory as to how she had arrived at the place in her mind.
Lucifer Force
Blink blink.
She must be the one! Fairies and their magic...
Luciel tried her best not to seem, well, scary. She did have the horns of a ram and several sharp teeth. But this woman didn't seem scared of much of anything. Holding the bag in one hand and extending the other in greeting, Lu assumed,
"You must be Shiaree? My name is Lu. I know this may sound strange, but I have something very important for you..."
She gestured to the bag.
Indeed, very little scared the rather confused Moon Elf. Having nearly entered a rather intimate relationship with a half drow half demon, this strange horned woman seemed no different, and indeed less intimidating than he.
"Lu, is it? Yes, I'm Shiaree...." she peered at the bag, her red-gold eyes narrowing thoughtfully,
"For me, really? I don't recall ordering anything from anyone I didn't know recently...did Lady Sun order it? Or one of the children?"
Lucifer Force
"Err..."
Lu stopped to think. How would she explain that some magical fairies keep transporting her to a fountain filled with people's souls to hand them out to worthy people? Would even make the slightest sense? How could she put it eloquently? At all?
Lu did like Shia's eyes, though. Very pretty.
And in that moment of distraction, she blurted everything out, very bluntly.
"Well, you see, there's this magical fountain filled with lots of souls in these nifty orbs, and I was wlaking along on my way to Durem when these psycho fairies transported me. And I was like POOF! And they said they'd find the perfect one for me. So they gave me an orb, and I had this freaky hallway pop up into my bathroom and..."
She stopped herself.
Shut up! You'll freak the poor woman out! "Uhh...and, long story short, the fairies transported me back and gave me this orb," She held up the bag, "to give to you. They said that this was 'the perfect one for you'."
Lu took another breath. "But before I give it to you, I have to warn you - if you touch the orb itself, the vision will come to life. If you hold the bag, you'll only
see the vision..." If that made any sense at all...
The elf blinked. Well, this Lu was certainly wound up. Over a two thousand years locked up in a temple had taught Shiaree herself the importance of patience and calmness..but it seemed these children in Gaia were all quite excitable.
"I see...a hallway in your bathroom?" She didn't really disbelieve. If children could be made of melted ice cream and books could teleport you to a secret library...well, why couldn't an orb created by fairies put a hallway in the bathroom?
"I'll have to be certain to open this when I am somewhere manageable then, I suppose."
She opened the bag, her curiousity a bit piqued. If she didn't know what this hallway looked like, how would she know where it ought to be?
Lucifer Force
"Well, my vision was that of a very dark, creepy hallway. When I recieved the orb, I ended up checking it out in my bathroom, where there's more light. And then, POOF! Huge hallway...in my bathroom..."
Staring at Shia, Lu suddenly realized the elf woman was much older than she appeared to be. She was a mere thirty human years. Lu quickly quieted down. This woman didn't seem one to be so enthused like she.
Pointing to the bag, she explained, "If you cup the orb in your hands, you should see the ritual..."
"Through the bag?" the elf said gently. She was afraid that perhaps her manner had disquieted the girl, as Lu now seemed a bit more studiously calm. She hoped that her perception of Lu's excitement hadn't seemed negative. It was more an observation than anything else-- Shiaree was quite used to energy, having raised several strange adoptive children and one very excitable biological child at this point.
"That is, hold it with the bag around it?"
She did as mentioned, as if questioning that this was indeed the appropriate method to see what it was that the orb held for her.
Lucifer Force
Lu nodded. "Just like that. Don't ask me why. I'm just telling you what the fairies told me..."
As Shia held the orb in its protective bag, the shop began to blur. Strange colors mixed together. The room became very hot, and reeked of blood. Strange missles of magic shot overhead, the sound piercing the ears.
The woman caught her breath. She'd never experienced anything like this before...the two figures in front of her...she could almost sense their feelings, everything. She knew this scene. She had seen it before, but never with this clarity. This was the image that had been haunting her dreams recently.
Quickly, she covered the orb again, her usually glowing pale skin dull and almost sickly pale. Being as sheltered as she had been for the first two thousand years had its disadvantages as well.
"I...thank you," she said softly, taking a deep breath to calm herself, "That was...most disturbing, however."
Lucifer Force
Lu stepped back, meek. She didn't want to be the bringer of things so disturbing, but she wanted to know what kind of vision it ws. Shia seemed, to her, a person unable to be frightened or shocked. But whatever it was she saw did just that.
"Most...disturbing? Was it...really bad?" she sked quietly, gray eyes never leaving Shia's face.
Shiaree shook her head, as though brushing away the negativity,
"A battle..magic..and two lovers who hated what each other stood for even when they loved each other...truly saddening. It's a vision that has trouble me many a night over the past few days."
She brush a strand of dark purple hair behind one pointed ear, securing the bag tightly. She was not sure where at the ranch a battlefield would be appropriate...especially as she was reluctant to have the children see it.
"Does it evaporate eventually?" she asked.
Lucifer Force
Lu stared at the floor. "Well, the hallway disappeared after a few days... Honestly, if it's as huge as you said it was, you'd think somewhere large would be best. But the hallway planted itself in my bathroom, which isn't very large at all. So my guess is that anywhere would do. Like, maybe a closet?"
She hoped Shia' vision wasn't as horrible as she said it was, but... If it had beena dream haunting her for so long...Perhaps having a child spring from such a horrible thing would begin to heal Shia's mind.
"...I do hope everything will be alright..."
