NOTICE: This is not our official story, this one is the one under revision at the moment. Changes have occured since this was written, but this is to give you the general idea.

A dimension, called Natkari, stood on the brink of destruction. The world was slowly collapsing upon itself and the Natkarians knew there was no hope for themselves. In a final effort to let their race live on the gathered together in the place called, "Isle's Break", or rather the spot where the dimensional barrier between their world and ours was thinest. Grouping into pairs they infused there genetics into a crystal locket holding the spirit of their unborn child. With a last wish they sent all the lockets through the dimensional barrier to find a better home. That was the end of Natkari

In our world, "Isle's Break" was located directly in the living room of my Barton apartment. I found these jewels just lying in a heap in the middle of the room. Some had a faint glow of color to them, others were still grey and dull. The one that glowed the brightest was a beautiful green colored stone. I picked it up and kept it with me rather than filing it away in padded boxes like the others.

The locket was always with me and I felt my connection with it grow. It would warm when it seemed happy and cool when it was sad... or so I thought that's what it meant. It certainly seemed that way. Finally one night I left the locket on my bedstand as I did every night, but in the morning I woke to find a small female toddler crawling around on my bed holding onto the jewel. I could hardly believe my eyes! It was the sweetest cutests child and it had a small ridge at the top of it's nose. Noticing I was awake it crawled into my lap and felt the same connection with her as I had with the jewel. "You... you're the jewel aren't you? Or you came from it..." She just looked at me with her gorgeous green eyes.

"Mama!"

Oh... my... god!!! "No no, I'm not your mother!" I looked at the jewel and could tell it was glowing... was the jewel her mother? I tried to grab it but she pulled it away from me.

"No! Mama's!"

"Wait a minute you just said I was your mother..." She stubbornly looked at me and clinged to the locket.

She pointed at me, "Mama!" and then hugged the jewel, "No mama's, is mama's!"

I was truly confused. "Alright then kid... whatever you say." I scooped her into my arms and walked into the room I had storing the crystals... I knew that some of them were glowing already... "there's no way I can deal with all of these!" I knew I had to find them a good home, so that's why I've set up this adoption agency, somebody has to give these kids a home and they can't all be mine!

Stage 1 - The Locket
The first is the form of the locket. It can only show mild emotions through the intensity and heat of the gem. It begins to connect strongly with it's guardian and forms a connection that it can send feelings and simple thoughts through.


Stage 2 - The Baby

An infant has appeared, holding the gem from the locket you so cherished. It seems like any other baby, but for the strange ridge on its nose. It will cry, sleep, eat you out of house and home, and all the baby normalities. It is extremely impressionable at this age, so watch how you act! Almost all babies look the same, but just wait...


Stage 3 - The Toddler
Your infant has become a toddler and has an EXTREME attachment to the jewel since it houses the whispers of it's parents spirits. It's learning all the things normal humans do, how to form sentences and get along with people. The bond strongly now to their guardian and knows exactly who they are. They're very impressionable at this age.


Stage 4 - The Child
Your toddler has blossomed into an active child now. They've got a grasp on all the basics and are ready to explore the world presented to them. They may begin to feel a little outcastish due to the defining ridge on their nose but in general begin to make the connections they'll keep for the rest of their lives. And they begin to learn a little about their past, which could trouble some...


Stage 5 - The Preteen
Your child has grown! They still carry around their gem wherever they go. Puberty is begining to set in, so you must get prepared for the teenage years ahead. Spend lots of time with your new preteen, and make sure to help them with their new crushes and friend problems. They may learn more about who they are and who they will become as the days go by. Watch out: preteens can be cruel about their teasing of others.


Stage 6 - The Teenager
They've reached the stage when they're ready to branch out on their own and learn by their own mistakes, but that doesn't mean they still won't need a guardian to steer them in the right direction. Hormones are beginning to bloom and they begin to learn about passions and obsessions... even if it's not of another person. They also learn more and more about the people who were their parents and the dimension that should've been their home.


Stage 7 - The Young Adult
You've past the problem years! Congrats! Your friend is now almost done growing. They'll learn more and more about themselves at this stage, and their personalities will be almost set. They've learned a lot about themselves and their friends during this time you've spent with them. Cherish it, because your child has grown up too quickly. Now it's time to prepare to let go of your son or daughter, as they're almost an adult. It's time for last goodbyes, but not forever, because...

Stage 8 - The Adult
Congradulations! This time is bittersweet for both of you. They no longer rely so much on you, and are ready to go off on their own and start families. Of course, you'll go with them to keep them out of trouble!
