Keda was curled up in a tree near the village, watching the humans. They fascinated her - why were they like this? The humans seemed to destroy the world around themselves - every year, the pollution seemed to spread further.
A cat - one of the village cats, she supposed - had found its way to her, and was currently watching her suspiciously, as she had found cats tended to do. She reached out, stroking the cat's head, smiling. It hissed at her, spitting, and she withdrew her hand quickly.
