This language of ours is like any other,
it once had an alphabet and its own letters
that vanished as though a tempest had set upon
a boat on a lake in a time now long gone.
"To My Fellow Children", Jose Rizal, 1869
English translation by P. Morrow
The ancient script of Baybayin isn't known to a lot of people, even to a great number of Philipino's. This is a beautiful form of writing that dates back long before the Spanish conquered and it is an important clue to our culture.
It is based on the character system rather than an alphabet. That is, each symbol represents a sound or syllable rather than a letter. This can make for difficult translations of English names or words but I believe I am starting to get the knack for it. If you PM me about it I can make an image with your name or a word for you. I can also do sentences but they will take more time and translation.
Here is a sample of my own name:
Price for one word (any amount of syllable's) is
150g
Price for a whole sentance will varry depending on the amount of work involved so PM me for details.
