Welcome to IRTIA's first Writing Contest!

IRTIA (I Read Therefore I Am) is a guild for readers. As readers, our members would like to have books for their avatars. Books, found in HR Wesley, cost between 825 and 850g. So, our guild is trying to raise money to give each member a book.

To do this, we are holding this writing contest. We will charge an admission fee and give out gold as prizes. The left over gold will go into IRTIA's account (username IRTIA) and will be used to buy our books.

We think this is a very clever idea, because not only will we earn gold for our avatars' books, but we'll get to read as well. mrgreen

We would love you to participate in our contest. However, we do ask that you please read all the rules before entering.

Rules

Please Read These.
//From this point on, anyone who does not follow these rules may be refused.//

* You must pay the entry fee before submitting your work. The entry fee must be donated to the username IRTIA.

* Non-poetry entries should be 3-5 pages in length, not to exceed 5 typewritten pages.

* You may submit multiple entries, but you must pay an entry fee for each work. No user may submit more than four works.

* Although there is no specified genre, you (obviously) may not post anything that goes against Gaia's TOS, or anything generally considered inappropriate.

* (Another obvious one) The work you submit must be your own, original work.

* To submit something, please post it in this thread. Be sure to write "Submission" at the head of your post.

* Do not post anything unkind about anyone's work.

Please Note: We must have 25 participants/entries to begin judging.

Entry Fees and Prizes

The entry fee is 350 per work submitted. It must be donated to the username IRTIA before you submit your work.

The First Place prize is 3000g.

The Second Place prize is 2000g

The Third Place prize is 1000g.

Since we will have 25 contestants, 22 entries will not win. If you are among those who do not win anything, your gold will not be returned.

Judging

Thanks so much to Fantasy_Magick777. She worked out the entry fee, prizes, and all other finances involved in this endevor!

Currently, the judges are Fantasy_Magick777 and Fairgrass. However, I hope to recruit another three guild members as judges soon.

Judging will start as soon as we have 25 entries. Winners will be announced here.
exclaim Update: Instead of waiting for another 20 entries, we will begin judging on 7/7/05. So enter now! Prizes have not changed.

send the entrace fee of 350 goldies(per story. its only 350 if you want to submit ONE story) to IRTIA then submit your writing. Guiild leader! maybe we should keep of list of all those who have payed the fee/submitted their story? that way it'd be easier to keep track of. 3nodding what do you think? smile
