So, a friend of mine, Latpas, and I are considering opening up a breedables shop, and we'd love to hear what you think. [by the way if i've posted in the wrong area just let me know! thanks! ^__^]
They are called Taidjens (tie-gen) and they are a humanoid pet based on 'needs'.
BACKGROUND:
The exact background is still hazy as of this moment, but basically Taidjens run off the idea of an imaginary friend. (I'm sure there are several people out there who have had one; you know that perfect friend that's always around, helping you deal with the difficulties of life).
Well, In this case Taidjens are beings from another world that are summoned through a dream/wish that you (or the character that you are playing) have. Your need is 'heard' by Latpas or myself, and we then guide you to a special seal that in turn summons a specific Taidjen to aid you with your need.
Need? Yes, need; everyone has them. In this case each Taidjen will represent a different need, such as encouragment, luck, compassion, strength, etc. Why you as the familiar wish for this or that particular need is all up to you. Maybe your parents just passed away and you are wishing for the strength to deal with the grief?, or maybe you are too quick to judge, and therefore require some compassion or understanding? And that's where your Taidjen comes in, he/she is there to help, to listen, to advise, to act...anything you need it to be.
But as there are always two sides to one coin, Taidjens that specialize in the darker side of life also exist; Destruction, Fear, Persuasion...Wrath...one can only wonder what minds will one day summon such beasts... domokun heart
STAGES:
As to the stages there will be 5.
***Just a quick note, despite what the stages say you do not have to RP you're Taidjen. However, if you do decide to not RP you will be expected to keep a journal. Also, you have the choice whether or not you want your Taidjen to be visible to other familiars, and Taidjens. Of course if your Tai isn't visible, RPing with others pretty much isn't an option. ^___^
Stage 1: The sacred seal; The item that ultimately summons your Taidjen from its world. It is also what will contain your Taidjens soul until later stages. Given the mutable state of Taidjens during this stage, anything is possible, therefore your character will not know the sex, or general appearance of your Taidjen. During this stage your Taidjen cannot verbally communicate with you, however, because your minds are connected your Taidjen will be able to flash pictures in your mind (while you're awake or asleep). Also, everyone is able to see this stage.
Stage 2: Inanimate form; After a few weeks your Taidjen will have saved up enough strenth to reside in an inanimate form (either a doll, or a stuffed animal), and will either be wearing or holding the seal. It won't be more than 2, maybe 3, feet tall, with no truly distinguishable clothing. Its gender will be obvious, and it can now communicate using basic sentences. Its inanimate form is visible to all, but only you can hear its words.
Stage 3: Teen; During this stage your Taidjen has grown some, and takes on a ghostly form. Taidjens in this stage can form more complex sentences, and are able to communicate with other owners and Taidjens (if that's what you decide). Also, while they have a big effect on your thoughts and actions, they will also begin to have a very, VERY slight ability to affect the world around them (ie, shut a door, or open a window). Again, no one can see your Taidjen aside from you and other familiars.
Stage 4: Adult; There are only a few differences between this stage and stage 3, and those are that in this stage your Taidjen becomes more concrete. Not only does it lose it's ghostly appearance, but it can speak fluently, has its maximum effect on you, and has an increased ability to affect the world around them. 'Others' still cannot see, nor hear them.
Stage 5: Elder; The final stage. Your Taidjen has successfully fulfilled its duties, and in doing so becomes a full-fledged being that everyone can see, and interact with. What will it do now? Will it depart from you, setting out on its own journeys? Or will it move in? Whatever you and your Taidjen decide there will always be a strong bond between the two of you.
Latpas is going to be the main Artist working on Taidjens, and for the moment I am going to be the colouring & information spork-extraordinaire!!!
Something I forgot to mention is that all the lineart will be unique, and although most of the Tai's won't be customizable, we will be offering semi (you'll be able to pick your item, and need), and fully customizable Taidjens (you'll get to pick your seal, your need, and your appearance, etc.)
Here is an example of Latpas' artwork. ^___________________^
&
Here is that same artwork coloured by yours truly. (I would REALLY REALLY like feedback on my colouring. I'm not that good at shading, and am always looking to improve!!!)
Well, that's a very, very basic outline of the Taidjens. Latpas and I greatly look forward to your comments and suggestions!!!!
WE LOVE/WANT/NEED COMMENTS!!!! domokun domokun
Also, don't hesitate to ask questions!! 'Cause we all know, the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked!!! whee
((((Taidjens are my (Mordavrin) idea so no stealing!!! and all artwork is Latpas' so no stealing that either!!! or we'll send sporks of DOOM after you!!!! scream heart heart ))))
