Shounen are a mysteriously beautiful and sexy pet. They live in a world much like our own, but with a few more evolutionary and imaginative advances. All members of the Shounen species are male and hybrids of animals, with Semes replacing Males and Ukes replacing Females. Coming in a variety of shapes and sizes, each Shounen is unique from every other Shounen. These sexy creatures preside in their own world, but have been known to cross over into our own... with limitations of course. Yaoi lovers rejoice for the wonderful world of Shounen.

Shounen can be acquired by multiple means. Flat Sales, Auctions, Raffles and Custom made. Be sure you follow all the rules, and enjoy Yaoi's Perfect Pet!

NOTE: Anyone who posts in the thread is signing an unwritten agreement to follow the rules. If a rule is broken, the excuse "I didn't know" will NOT be accepted.

||General
These are general rules of the thread and forums.


  1. This thread is Web 14 like the rest of Gaia.
  2. No begging.
  3. No proposing how much you will pay for a Shounen in the thread. All customs must be PMed to the colorist if they are accepting.
  4. Harassing a member of the Mod Squad or a Colorist about a Shounen will result in Blacklisting.
  5. Harassing anyone about anything on the Shounen Thread or Forums will result in a heavy warning or Blacklisting.
  6. Do not whine if you miss a chance to get a Shounen.
  7. All comments, questions, and concerns may be discussed as long as it does not involve begging or whining.
  8. Staff members ARE NOT allowed to enter Flatsales, Raffles, Auctions or Events UNLESS it is specified beforehand. There will be a notice saying if it's a FREE-FOR-ALL, which means Staff may enter, NON-STAFF, which staff cannot and NEWBIES-ONLY, where only those without shounen may enter.
  9. There are NO MULES allowed to be used in NEWBIE events. If caught, you are immediately blacklisted. This will not be tolerated by any means. If you have changed your username, please let us know before participating in an event to avoid confusion.
  10. No trying to bribe any of the colorists! They will not be accepted and you face possible blacklisting.
  11. Any PM's sent to a colorist who is not Zy for possibilities of any type of Shounen must also be sent to Zy. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  12. Annoying the Mob Squad, Colorists or other people can result in a warning. (You may suggest others for warning if you have a valid and provable reason.)
  13. The Mob Squad always has the last say.
  14. All rules here apply in the Guild as well.



||Sales
These are rules concerning the sale of Shounen.


  1. Offers before a Flatsale begins are null and void.
  2. Talking half a minute before and during a Flatsale must be kept at a minimum unless you are attempting to buy a Shounen from the Flatsale. This makes it easier for both you and the Mob Squad.
  3. You may buy or bid for someone else in a Raffle or Auction so long as the proper amount is paid to the Mob Squad. However, in terms of Flatsales and Custom Slots, then it is not allowed. You can however, ask for someone to be your proxy in a flat sale as long as it is known beforehand. So, no buying for someone as a gift but you can be their stand-in. Understood?
  4. If you get a Shounen in a Sale of any kind, you cannot get a shounen in the next Sale. This pertains to ALL shounen sales: Raffles, Custom Slots, Auctions and Flats. So that means should you win a Custom slot, you CANNOT go for the next event. The one AFTER the second even is fine. This is to keep it fair to all people, new and old.
  5. Flatsale coupons must be offered a half hour before the flatsale starts. It will be stated in-thread when flatsale coupons will be accepted. Not all flatsales will allow coupons.



||Colorists
These are rules for colorists.


  1. Staff Colorists and Guest Colorists are allowed to make ONE shounen for themselves at a discount of the base flatsale price. After that, NO FREE shounen will be allowed unless Zy clears it.
  2. All Shounen must be reported to Zymbu before creation.
  3. All Shounen must be reported to Zymbu after creation.
  4. The acceptance of items in exchange for gold in auctions will be decided by that colorist only. And will work in case by case, which will be discussed between management and colorist before auction.
  5. Any Shop Keeper or Colorist who neglects their assigned duties for reasons not outside of their power may receive a warning.
  6. Any Colorist who abuses their power will receive a warning or be removed as Colorist.
  7. Guest Colorists have no set quota unless they agree to it and fulfill it.
  8. Guest Colorists may not hold flat sales, auctions or raffles, but may help with them.
  9. Colorists may not do any fantasy-type creatures (unicorns, pegasus, dragons, etc.) without first getting approval from Zy.
  10. Wings of any sort will not be approved unless for avian creatures and still must be approved by Zy.
  11. ANY COLORIST, GUEST OR OTHERWISE, WHO CREATES AND SELLS A SHOUNEN WITHOUT NOTIFYING AND GIVING PAYMENT TO THE SHOP WILL BE BANNED FROM COLORING FOR LIFE.




||Roleplaying
These are rules for roleplaying Shounen.


  1. Shounen cannot breed or fall in love with females. They are strictly a Yaoi (MalexMale) pet. They may, however, be friends with females. Shounen may breed or fall in love with males of other species, as long as you have the approval of the shop owner of that species!
  2. No RPing anything beyond PG-13 here. Take anything past that to a messenger program like AIM or YIM.
  3. Do not RP other people's pets for them. (EX: You make another Shounen that isn't yours do an action in one of your posts.) Owners decide what happens to their pets, not you. They can make any action done to their pet by your pet nonexistent if they do not agree with it.
  4. You do not have to talk in brackets here. Most people RP with the name of their shounen when they post... (EX: Sienna: *adjusts his glasses*) So brackets are not necessary. However, your preferred form of RP is your own, you need not follow a set example.
  5. Please limit the RPing of non-Shounen pets in this thread, unless mated with a Shounen.

|| What are Common, Uncommon and Rare?

Common Shounen are those with no horns/wings/mythological traits and with fairly plain colorations. A "cat" or "dog" Shounen would count as common, as would a "fox" or "rabbit".

UnCommon Shounen are those that one would not expect to see as often - they may seem to be 'common' but are more detailed in their designs than your standard Shounen. A 'Koi' type Shounen, a 'Giraffe' or 'Ocelot' Shounen would count as UnCommon.

Rare Shounen are just what they seem like -- they are Shounen with special traits available to them -- horns, wings, expansive scales or ornamentative markings. Mythical beast-based Shounen will fall under this category, as would say, a 'Luna Moth' or 'Tribal' Shounen.

Yakkai comes out, looking smug and holding a clipboard. "All right, all you crazy Shounen, let's address the matter of breeding. Don't bother lying to me. I know it's what you're all interested in! I'm going to post these rules. Read them, understand them and then go and do your thing!"

||Breeding rules

  1. Shounen owned by the same owner cannot be bred. Co-owned Shounen can be bred as long as both owners get a Shota.
  2. No begging for a slot or someone's resulting Shota. Insta-ban on this offense!
  3. Like events and sales, if you get a breeding slot, you are not eligible to breed any other Shounen, same or not, until another breeding slot has passed.
  4. You are allowed to keep your Shota, give them away or return them back to the shop to be sold/raffled/auctioned. If sold or auctioned by the shop, you get to keep 40% of the resulting price.
  5. Pricing will be according to type. As of right now, there is no set pricing decided. This will come later. If you have any questions about the type of Shounen you have, please PM the mule.
  6. Breeding rare x rare = rare, uncommon x uncommon = uncommon, common x common = common. Breeding rare x uncommon or common = uncommon at least. Breeding uncommon x common = 50% chance of uncommon.
  7. Breeding prices will be such: Rare x rare breeding will be rare price. Uncommon x uncommon will be uncommon price. Common x common will be common price. Mixed breeding will be at the higher race price. So Rare x common breeding will be rare price.
  8. Common breedings will spawn 1-4 Shota. Uncommon 1-3 and Rare 1-2. Be prepared that there might only be 1 Shota!

Lunis is now the Head Designer of Shounen, something he's not sure he's particularly happy about. Not the type to talk overly much, he's prone to being seen taking notes instead of interacting. A bit of a perfectionist, he likes to make sure he's done his job right before showing it off to public. Under his 'act', he's rather warm and charming. However, this side of himself isn't something he wants to willingly show.

He's very mischievious though in other terms and is most likely to pull the newest Shounen forward to introduce themselves.

Boshi.. Not Bossy, He's actually quite a playful fellow, a terrible flirt and if there's a party going on he wants to know about it! He's the shops Main painter, generally painting rooms, items, things, This puppy knows more about painting things than some Shounen know about shoes.. he touches up a lot of the shop but has a very artistic flair. Tell him to paint plain white and he may have a fit.. or cry or who knows... he can be a bit bi-polar.
In looks he tends to have a more macho exterior but truly his artistic side always comes through. Ever curious expect him to sniff out any activity to see whats happening.. how else do you find out about partys!

Q: Can I color a Shounen myself as long as I pay for it?
A: No. All Shounen must by colored by one of our Colorists. If you are caught doing this, you will be instantly banned. No warnings.

Q: Are there any custom Shounen spots open?
A: Please see availability post.

Q: What do Shotacon (Baby Shounen) call their parents?
A: They can call them whatever they like as long as their parents approve. Semes are sometimes called Dad and Ukes called Mom. Some Shotacon call their Seme parent Daddy and their Uke parent Dad, and others call them by their name. It all depends on the Shotacon and his parents.

Q: Do I have to RP my Shounen?
A: No, but it is highly reccomended. Shounen are a community based pet. It is just more fun for everyone when there is a large selection of people with different RPing styles. Your Shounen will NOT be taken away if you don't RP it.

Q: What is RP?
A: RP stands for Roleplay. It is best described as writing a story, with your own characters, with someone else. It is called Roleplay because you assume a role, your character, and then play, you act it out in words.

Q: Will there ever be females?
A: Nope, never. This is an all male, yaoi based pet. Yaoi is by definition MalexMale, not MalexFemale or FemalexFemale. With the exception of owners and other species, females don't exist in the Shounen world. Females are genetically incompatible with Shounen. There are NO female Shounen. Not now, not ever.

Most shops have a donation section, but the Shounen donation section also benefits you! You donate your hard earned gold to Shounen, why not be rewarded for your kindness?

Rewards are based on a point system. The more points you have, the more rewards you can earn! (Like special coupons, special Donator Only events and more)

Your gold is added up, and once you reach over a certain amount, you are awarded a new point, so feel free to donate in multiple small quantities.

How to Donate: Just send us, Shounen_v2, a trade titled 'Donation'. Also! Send a PM to Eyulra (and not the mule please) stating that there is a donation on the mule. This way, Zy won't miss it >>

We do not accept donations under 1000g.


||Point System
Every 1000g equals .5 of a point. If your total is, say, over 1000g, then you get .5 point until you get 2000g or over to get 1 points. 8.5 points gets you a common flatsale coupon or a common breeding slot or 150 raffle slots. 13.5 points gets you an uncommon flatsale coupon or uncommon breeding slot and 27 points gets you a rare flatsale coupon or rare breeding slot.

  • 1,000g = .5 point
  • 2,000g = 1 point
  • 10,000g = 5 points
  • 15,000g = 7.5 points
  • 17,000g = 8.5 points
  • 20,000g = 10 points
  • 25,000g = 12.5 points
  • 27,000g = 13.5 points
  • 30,000g = 15 points
  • 40,000g = 20 points
  • 50,000g = 25 points
  • 54,000g = 27 points


How to use flatsale/breeding coupons
  • Points must be redeemed into coupons 48 hours before a scheduled flatsale. I don't care if you have 50 million points, until you redeem them, they're still points and not coupons.
  • 30 minutes before the scheduled open time on a flatsale, the coupon window will open. Coupon holders can then turn in their coupon for a free flatsale Shounen. Common coupons can only buy common Shounen, etc. Only 2 coupons will ever be accepted during this window.
  • Again, I don't care if you have 100 coupons, unless you offer them during the window, they will not be accepted!
  • Prices are higher for the coupons because this is a guarantee of getting a Shounen.
