~Background history~
Far off in the galaxy, a planet exists known as Cybertron. This planet is inhabited by a race of living machines known as Transformers. The transformers lived in a peaceful coexistance with each other untill one day, a group of rouge transformers began to wage war against the others, killing many and recruiting others to support their cause...the planet was quickly split into two sides, each half governed by a leader. The Autobots, trying to preserve their old ways of life, were led by the proud and honorable Optimus Prime. The Decepticons, cruel and heartless warriors who wanted nothing more than total domination of Cybertron, were led by the cold and powerful Megatron. The two sides waged war against each other, untill one fateful day, the Autobots were forced to flee the planet of their orgin by the Decepticons. For several years, they inhabited two of Cybertron's moons, plotting a time for revenge. In the year 2005, a new menace emerged from a foul region of space...this menace was an enormous, planet-eating machine known as Unicron. The Decepticons waged a suprise attack on the Autobot city on Earth...this war waged on untill, finally, Megatron was defeated by Optimus Prime...but in doing so, Optimus sustained fatal damage. Before he passed on, Optimus passed down the Matrix of Leadership to his second in command, Ultra Magnus...out in space, Unicron sensed the passing of the Matrix, and sought out its destruction. Megatron, as well as some of his followers, being extremely damaged, were cast out into space by Starscream...but it wasn't long before Unicron found them...he gave them new bodies. Megatron, now known as Galvatron, searched high and low to find the matrix...after tearing apart Ultra Magnus, Galvatron tried to use the Matrix to overthrow Unicron...and failed, only angering him and causing him to transform...he began to tear apart the planet Cybertron untill eventually, Hot Rod and a small band of Autobots as well as the Dinobots and Junkions, managed to destroy Unicron from the inside by unleashing the power of the Matrix, Infusing Optimus' Spark with Hot Rod's, changing him into Rodimus Prime. Galvatron was tossed out of Unicron's side, hurled into the vast emptyness of space, where he still drifts...eventually joined by the remaining Decepticon forces.
~As of Now...~
The Year is 2006, the evil tyrant known as Unicron has been destroyed by Rodimus Prime and a handful of the Autobots. They returned to the planet Cybertron with the Junkions to celebrate and begin the repairwork to the damaged planet...However, Galvatron and a good percentage of his Decepticon followers still remain and plot to take back Cybertron from some dark corner of space...
