Welcome to the first ever Heralds contest for a custom male Herald! I'm Taka, and I'll be taking care of this thread.

BASIC HERALD INFO:

+ You must RP your Herald if you win! These are RP-heavy breedables, so please make sure you understand the time commitment and read the RP Requirements post in the main thread before you enter.

+ Keep in mind that a Herald is an angelic messenger. After its message is sent, it falls to earth, wingless, to die. The only way for it to survive is for a human to sacrifice an item to it; that item will become its new wings.

+ You must choose an item to "sacrifice" to save your Herald; but keep in mind that no two of the same item may be sacrificed. So you may NOT use these items:
- Fan
- Phoenix Feather
- Scissors w/ Ribbon
- Dragon

+ For those concerned about sacrificing animals, no worries; the item is simply absorbed, not destroyed.

+ You won't give us an actual item; only the picture of it.

CONTEST RULES/INFO:

+ Play nice with the other kiddies. That should go without saying.

+ Remember, the character you are creating is a MALE.

+ Fill out the form below completely. You only need to answer one of the prompts, not all.

+ Please PM all entries to Herald. Entries posted or pm'ed elsewhere will not be accepted.

+ The contest will run for 2 weeks and will end on April 11th at midnight GST.

Herald's Name: (significance optional)
Item Sacrificed: (may be a word or the actual picture if you have it)
Main Physical Attributes: (You are allowed three; for example, light green eyes, a silver bracelet, and a heart tattoo on the cheek)
Prompt # and Response:

Prompts

Prompt 1:
Everyone is afraid of something. What happens when your Herald has to face his fear?

Prompt 2:
Your Herald has loses something very precious to him. What is it and how does he react?

Prompt 3:
Your Herald has to learn to do something new...and he isn't very good at it. How does he feel? What does he do?

SCORING:

Creativity of Item Sacrificed: 10pts
Grammar/Formatting: 20pts
Composition/Flow: 60pts
Mystery Category: 10 pts
TOTAL: 100 pts possible]

Custom? I thought all the Heralds were custom.
In a way, yes. They all have unique lineart, but with this custom you'll be able to determine the main features.

How many times can we enter?
Only once, please.

I see you have two artists. Who will be drawing the contest winner's?
The winner will get to choose whether they want Vian or bw-inc as the artist.

What's the Mystery Category?
It's our way of having a tie breaker. It's a specific category, but only the judges will know what it is until the contest is over.

Can we include other breedables we own in the entry?
You certainly may; but keep in mind that what we really want to learn about is your Herald, not your other pets.

How old should the Herald be in our prompt responses?
Your Herald may be either Messenger Reborn (a young child), a Child (older, all the way up to preteen) or a Teen for the prompts.

Can we get the bonus even after we've submitted our entry?
Of course! If you've already submitted your entry, just pm Herald, letting us know you figured it out - if you can. wink

Do we have to pay anything should we win?
Nope! Good RPers are invaluable to a shop like this; should you win you won't have to pay anything.

DISCLAIMER:

The breedables community is large, but closely-knit in some cases. Chances are we, the judges, both know and are friends with many of the contest entrants. However, we'd like to point out that the winner will be chosen based solely on the merit of RP abilities, and that multiple judges are being used to ensure that no favoritism occurs.
