Synopsis: Keir makes a connection with Malise in bid to find out more about her past, and identity. Sucked back into the felines dimension of hate and jealousy Keir is faced with a tougher challenge as a teen. Putting some of Silver's taught techniques into practise Keir equips twin daggers and takes on her sister.
The might of the dimension overcomes her and the eye swallows her up into the past.
'Ciara' (Keir's past identity), and 'Malise' are trapped in a barn with an angry mob after them, as convicted witches, and for crimes against their village. Freya shows them some guidance after placing them in the cruel situation, she too has her identity as a witch up for debate. All three face the stake.
Freya retalities to the shock-horror of the pair by killing the mob in a flash of blue. Men, women and children lie dead and the stench of death prevails.
Ciara emerges as a nasty, manipulative women, even moreso than that of her sister Malise - who she bullies out of her innocence. Threatening to kill her Malise is tied to Ciara strictly in fear.
Freya offers the pair a new chance in life as human beings, as reward for being so loyal and dedicated to her over the years as her cats. They agree, and soon develop into young witches.
Religion is a key theme as Freya tries to convince everyone against her crimes of witchcraft; she persuades everyone she is merely Christian 'spreading God's word'. However, it was not to be for the witches, both Ciara and Malise were forced to take seven years exile as black horses from the barn to disguise themselves, most of the time spent running and hiding.
Excited at the prospect of becoming 'proper' witches, the pair remain loyal to their master, Freya.
Although, threatening Freya that they would run away unless they were reverted back to humans, Freya was forced to give into their wishes.
Taking rest in a tavern properly for the night. Ciara seduced a man at the bar, but unfortunately killed him as she claimed he had taken things too far. Their cover was blown and they were on the run from the stake once more.
Taking refuge in the forests for another few years, they fled from Freya and kept together. But becoming fed up with her bully of a sister, Malise fled to Egypt. Ciara went to follow, aware that this was a destination they had spoke upon.
Chasing after her, she soon caught up. And they were at ease with the surroundings of Egypt, once their home. Ciara was to be tailed by a betraying Freya, and an angry mob. Upon docking at Egypt, they were only a day or two behind.
Ciara led them all straight for Malise, and as the pair reunited, they were both seized and plucked from civilisation. Freya had turned them in to save her own skin, in fear that she would be revealed over them. They were executed immediately, and smoke and flames floated to the skies.
Betrayal a key element of their downfall.
Back in Malise's dimension, Keir was overcome by grief that she had done something so callous and against her sister - which almost jusitifed her present sisters actions. She was moreso shocked that it was Freya who had betrayed them; and not Malise as she had forseen.
Freya returned to save Keir from the clutches of Malise and the eye, which by which time had almost finished off the Fa'e, its power overbearing. Perplexed by the knowledge that Freya was almost just as evil as Malise, Keir ran for her life whilst both Freya and Malise clashed once more. Returning to assist her sister, she found the pair strangling one another. Keir gave Malise an advantage, and left in a panic, Malise seemingly dead and Freya considably weakened.
Running into coverted darkness, Keir regained consciousness in a hospital; very shocked and distressed as a youth.
