::I struggled against my will to just spring forward and take one of the beasts down. Hunger pains began to knaw at my empty stomach. The sun was scorching hot against my fur. My hunger battled against my mind. If I went after one of the wilderbeast, would the Alpha congradulate me for my efforts of bringing it down alone..or would he punish me severly for my rash actions? Hunger soon won out as I suddenly sprinted toward the plain. I ignored the calls of my pack and the orders of the Alpha's. I was hungry, and right now that was the only thing important to me. My paws padded against the terrain softly. I slowed down to a walk as I came closer to my prey. Slouching down to the grass, I slowed even more to a crawl. My heart was pumping wildly out of my chest. I was trying to conserve my energy incase it was needed. I come closer to the wilderbeast. One of them began to dig its left forehoof into the dirt shaking its head wildly. Hoping it didn't sense me, I stop waiting for what it was going to do. Suddenly, one of them reared up on its hing legs letting out a warning call. I cursed to myself as I began to run after the herd. They thundered off across the plain as I chased them. I was careful to choose my target for I still felt tired from the long sprint. Lagging behind, I see a straggler with what seemed to be a broken leg. It struggled to keep up with the herd but couldn't. Taking the right moment, I sprint upward launching myself toward the beast. I manage to snap onto its throat. We both tumbled in the grass, its form crushing my own. My teeth were still clamped to its neck as I tried to close the airwave. Even though this creature was wounded, it still fought for its life. As both the beast and I came to a stop, I got teared away from its throat ripping a chunk off. Blood poured out of the wound as it lay there dying slowly. Slightly limping, I walk slowly over to my prey and begin to rip more of the throat. Soon the beast ceased to struggle and lay dead. I sighed and was about to take in my fill when I heard a sharp bark. I cringed knowing it was the Alpha of my pack. He came up to me snarling pushing me away from the carcass. I lowered upon my belly feeling like a puppy again. Soon he stopped and nudged me. I got up slowly still unsure of what he would do. Soon I understood that he was upset, but was glad that I was alright. He then gave a small bark. He was saying that I took the trouble of hunting the beast out from the pack. In return of his thanks, he let me have first bite. I felt proud, but still being of lower rank, I let him have the first taste of the meat. He was slightly surprised, but then understood that I was trying to apologize for my actions. Soon the whole pack had their fill as the sun fully set upon the plains and the moon rose high. I felt good about earlier. Maybe I'll rise up in the pack....but thats a big maybe::
