What a mystical isle is this one. The moment I left Gaia and arrived on the Landing Circle, I was entranced. It's just amazing. Terunya Isle. I like it. I like it a lot. I fear that I may never go back. Of course, why would I want to go back, now that I found this beautiful egg? It gives me the nicest feeling, like a sunshower, or fine mist. It's no less than angelic, and I know I must call it Ceannon. An angelic name for an angelic egg.

And the colors...the purples, mottled. And the wings. And the halo. I can scarcely believe it. It's all so ridiculous I feel that if I blink it'll all disappear and I'll be back in Gaia without this beautiful thing. It's beyond my wildest dreams, and my dreams are pretty wild, let me tell you. I'm sure it's beyond any imagining what'll hatch from this little pretty. I don't even dare to speculate.
I only just noticed a rather curious thing. There seems to be...something...attached to my egg. No, attached is not the word. Linked. Bonded. It looks like a brooch, or some other kind of jewelry, but it floats around the egg and it seems strangely alive. The jewel in it glows. Whenever I draw near the egg it lands on top of it, almost protectively, like a guardian. Or am I just imagining it?

I have found a nice place to make a temporary home, or some kind of shelter at least. There's an isolated beach bordering the north of a large lake. I hear tell it's known as the Tuatha'Ri Lake, and this beach known as the Chai'en. Some grand mountains shadow the place, and it's quite grand indeed. I constructed an ersatz shelter in the brush further inland and made a little nest for the egg. It's cozier than I'd ever imagined.
Yesterday I couldn't write because I was taking my egg to the headquarters. There was some kind of demonic creature on the loose near my shelter and I decided to flee. I'm now looking for a new place to live and set up a more permanent residence. I'm considering to set up shop near the other forest, the one that isn't so scary. The Loka Nei, was it? Yes. Plenty of wood with which to make a cabin.

I was talking to a Pae'il elder at the HQ and she says that Pae'il develop magic as they grow older, and each tends to have their own specialty. That got me thinking. What will my egg have power over? I think I know, because whenever I touch the egg I get this feeling, and it must be the magic of it, but I don't quite know what it is! I guess I'll find out when it hatches.
I've decided that I am going to build a house on the grassland between the HQ and the Loka Nei. I went to the forest today with my egg and chopped down some wood (being careful not to let it fall on the egg, of course) for use in making it. I don't know what I'll do for furniture; perhaps I'll make that out of wood as well. It'll be a fun project, albeit a hard one. I went back to HQ to relax from the strenuous work and write here.

I'll make a room for myself, and a little nest in it for the egg, and a spare room for when the egg hatches. I'll make a small room for a privy, and another for a kitchen/dining room/living room. A cozy little affair with four rooms. Nothing too exravagant necessary.
Today I got together some furnishings for the house I'm going to build. I've chopped down all the wood I think I'll need, so I decided I ought to get furniture. I got a small bookcase and a few assorted books to put in it, two beds, one big for me and a smaller one for the egg when it hatches, a wood-burning stove, a table, a few chairs, an icebox, and a loveseat. I dunno how I'm going to set it all up by myself. I'm no bodybuilder.

I've sketched out a blueprint for my cabin and found a good place to put it. I've laid down a foundation of wood to build on. It'll be a lot of work without help. Maybe I should get some help at headquarters. Though who would want to help me? I can't pay them anything. Is there anybody who really would, out of the goodness of the heart?
I'm dictating to Julia right now, because I can't write yet. So I tell her what to write in this journal thing and she writes it with squiggly marks. I don't know what the squiggly marks mean. Anyway, I finally hatched out of that stuffy egg, and Julia finished building the log cabin for us. I sleep in my own bed, even though it's too big for me. It's made for an adult Pae'il. I can't believe I'll ever be that big, but Julia says I will and Julia knows everything.

She's trying to teach me how to read the squiggly marks. She wants me to know how to read my name. She showed me the first squiggly mark in my name. It's like a biiiig curve, and it can make a 's' sound like in my name or a 'c' sound like in cantata or clarinet. Since I like music so much Julia taught me about things like cantata and clarinet. It's very interesting. She wants me to be able to read about music.
I met a demon babe named Jiro today. He is the nicest Pae'il I know - even though he's the only Pae'il I know. When I meet more Pae'il, I think he will still be the nicest Pae'il I know, even though he's a demon and some people don't like demons. But he's not like the demon that attacked Julia when I was an egg. Not even a little bit.

I'm so excited, I can read my name now! First there's a big curve, and that's C, and then there's this thing like the end of a pitchfork and that's E, and then there's a pointy thing and that's A, and then there's a zigzaggy thing that goes up and down and that's N, and then there's another N, then there's a big hole and that's O, and then there's the last N and it spells Ceannon! Yay!
I can read lots better now! I can read most words, but not big long ones like 'important' or 'indescribable.' And I can read some music too! Julia gives me songbooks and I can sing the easy songs just by looking at the notes. The notes look like spots with sticks coming out of them. And they're all lined up on this ladder thing called a staff. Julia's teaching me how to write too. I'm writing the shortest words in this diary entry, like 'I' and 'big' and 'the.' But the ones I write are a lot sloppier than the ones Julia writes.

Oh yeah, so Jiro and I started glowing all of a sudden! It was so weird! We were talking in the headquarters and we just started glowing like stars, and of course I sang about it. Julia likes the song. I wonder why I'm glowing. I hope Jiro and I glow forever. He looks so pretty when he's glowing.
So much has happened! I turned into an adult, and Jiro did too, and if I look half as good as an adult as Jiro does, I must be gorgeous. But just when we transformed there was a huge earthquake and an island crashed into Telrunya. Tiaphanu says it's called the Ancient City of the Balan Levain. That's an interesting name. I really need to write a song about all this, but I broke my wing during the impact and am in no state to write songs. Maybe I can convince Jiro to hug me while I'm recovering.
Today, Julia got a new pet, and I'm to be her guardian! Her name is Sabriel, and she's a Lunarc. I love her dearly, though of course not as much as I love Jiro. She's a draconic creature, and her skin is all cold, because she's an ice elemental. Her scales are blue and white, and she's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen except Jiro, of course. She speaks her own language which I don't understand, but one day she'll be able to speak human talk like I can. Maybe my guardian can communicate with her.
