((due to the resignation of our research team commander, we will not be allowing any more applications until the position is filled. If you are interested in joining our team, please post the application in this thread for us. The application is located in the employees area found here))

As you enter the door, you walk into a wide and open spaced room with shaggy rugs on the floor and really comfy couches in the middle. The room has a study corner in the southeast corner of the room. Also, along the north wall splits two hallways on either side. The hallway on the left goes by the bathrooms and kitchen. The right hallway leads to several offices. First office is our "treasurer and secretary office", followed by Department of Special Events office, followed by Staffing Room, followed by Grace's office at the end. Opposite of the Department of Special Events is a large room with a safe, but also in same room is the Research Office. The walls are lined with plaques and artwork made by grateful people who've passed through our door and left with our blessings.

3. Once you've been added to the waiting list, you must revisit our shop for at least three days following. Failure to do this will forfeit your blessing. additionally, it is also your responsibility to make sure you come back. If we don't see you for longer than a week after your application date, your application will be deleted without notice unless we can find someone who's willing to pm people. And, even then, it is still YOUR responsibility, not ours. We can't have deadbeats taking up space on our waiting list. It's unfair to others who really want/need donations who are willing to follow the rules to get them.
4. No Fighting, spamming, or begging. Applying for charity is ok; begging is not!

Q. Who does Footprints donate to?
A. Newbies! What is our definition of a newbie? Someone with more than 30 posts but no more than 200.... or has been on gaia for a month or less. Whichever comes first.

Q. Why don't you give to oldbies?
A. There are many charities that do this already. We have lots of love for new gaia members. We want to help them feel welcome on gaia. And, shoes are often the last thing newbies can get!

Q. Are there any footwear items you do not give out?
A. I'm so glad you asked! As a matter of fact there is!

Q. Do you donate to quests?
A. No. not as a charity, but on occassion, Graceangel makes some on her account to randomness quests, charities, etc. Any staff members are free to do so too, but please refrain from pm'ing out staff for those reasons.

Q. Are you accepting donations?
A. ALWAYS! Please send all money and footwear to Pitterpatter.
*note that this is really imperative! Do not send trades to Graceangel. Though I do own this and the mule account; I like to keep my belongings seperate. Thanks to everyone who supports our endeavors!

Q. Can I join your staff?
A. Only if you are a dedicated and committed person. We have no interest in people who change what they want to do by the hour or week.. you're either in our out. No wishy washy peeps please! See staff section for an application form.

Q. While I'm not new, I lost my old account and am starting over. Would you still donate to me?
A. These situations are handled on a case by case basis and seperate from our standard donations. Because the nature of the situation is different. Starting a new account DOES NOT make you a newbie. and. as such, you're not what we're here for... however, we might be able to help you still. And, as a former gaia user and not the normal type we donate to, your best bet is to be more flexible when requesting stuff. You above other newbies should know better than to request stuff we don't have or that you know is rahter expensive to get. We're here to serve the community; we're not here to be abused and used.

What type of shoes you would like? This is the difficult question! I was leaning towards the wooden sandals (just 'cause sandals are hot), but then I noticed that it seems to be a popular item. So, if that one's all gone, or if you wish to defer it to someone else, then by all means, please do so. To be honest, the only other pair that I remember is the "expensive black shoes" or something like that. I think I only remember it because it said "expensive" while the rules said that we're not supposed to request "expensive" things, just the things on the list, no? Anyways, I think the black shoes might be a better bet, anyways, because they'll probably go with more outfits than the sandals would, eh?

PitterPatter Paper Doll Contest:
Simply dress up PitterPatter, our mule, with clothings on Gaia and send us the final copy by posting it in this thread! Dress PitterPatter the way you feel a shoe charity owner should be dressed.

Rules:
1) You cannot steal any GAC creations that belongs to someone else.
2) Limit 2 entries per person (mules included).
3) You must keep the same hairstyle, skin color, and eyes as the original PitterPatter.
4) Create the avatar using the Gaia Avatar Creator <--add link
5) Do not flame/copy anybody else's avatar(s).
6) At least 1 entry must be reasonable. For example, one entry without items going over 1k and one with the option to go over 1k.

Interested in joining the staff here?
After submitting an application, you will have to do "orientation and training". What this includes is mostly a trial period where you try to be here as much as possible. You get to know our rules, policies, and the other people who work here. We also get to see how committed you are, and this ensures if you find that this job is not for you, we don't suffer losing an official staff member.

Pending Idea: Newbie Charity Gaia Ring

What is this idea?
A charity ring would be a bunch of newbie charity shops who all have a type of affiiliation program. This is designed for a two fold purpose. The primary function is that when newbies click on it... it would take them to the next shop on the stop of the ring... all newbie charities can be in it.. but only those who wish to be involved... as we don't want to send too many newbies to charities who don't want high traffic.

The second purpose for the ring would be a form of support and communication between newbie charities. We could all share a nest of bumpers... Bumpers could sign up to either just bump that shop... or be a bumper for the ring of shops... thus offering them options and variety.

Essentially, this idea is a mod on the whole concept of web rings found scattered throughout the internet. Visit any Final Fantasy fan page.. adn you'll see links to web rings.. this allows you to find other fan sites related to that quickly.. we're just trying to do the same here.
