Once I get through the pups that need growing to adolescents, I was thinking of maybe doing an auction series...'wild' theme, perhaps? So any suggestions/input would be welcome, although there are a few things that have already been done.

Already existing: Gray Wolf, Tiger ('golden' and the standard orange), Okapi, Clouded Leopard, Snow Leopard
Possible auctions: Budgie (green), Tiger (white), Leopard, Black Jaguar, Poison Dart Frog (blue), Peregrine Falcon, Hyacinth Macaw, Orca, Blue Jay

Right, right. All named SS have been certed, Hati's cert has been corrected (sorry!), and the new adults have also been certed :3. All of 'em are down in the pick-up post now, and the owner list should be up-to-date.
Customs are open! See their respective post for details. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. ^_^
Likely to be a flatsale of some kind soon-ish. RP prompt, probably, for some random commons or something. Next weekend maybe?

@.@ SS are all open, and I'd appreciate it if you'd post the name(s) for yours in this thread. As I get names for them, I'll fill them into the certs and post them down in pick-up; the links will change from what they were as SS (ferrus/ss/yournamehere1.jpg) to the one you'll use to direct link until they're adult (ferrus/certferrusname.jpg) .
Once my brain's recovered from all the SS craziness, I'll get to working on growing a lot of the adols, and the pre-SS pups.

Heh, I still haven't gotten any better at keeping this post updated. At any rate, as it says in the thread title, there's an SS going on, linked in the first post.
I'm going out of town tomorrow for a little over a week, but when I get back I'll be doing some growings. I might also start offering customs, if I can figure out a good price. Suggestions are welcome :3.

6 September

In case you've missed the recent growings, there are a couple of adolescents (as well as two new pups, DG's and Lil's) on page 60, and a few dark adults on page 61. You can also see examples of the new certs there...and you'll notice there's a stat system now as well, which I'll get to explaining in more detail at some point.
As for the new certs and stats: if anyone wants their Ferrus recerted, there'll be a 1k fee, because I may well just recolor them to avoid the mess of trying to lift them off of the old certs. If you want to know your Ferrus' stats but don't want it to be recerted, just lemme know and I'll give them to you.

21 August
- My laptop's bitten it yet again, and since I didn't have my shading templates backed up, they're gone ;__;. But it's not a total disaster, because...we're going to get better ones! XD lilwerewolfgirl, sweetheart that she is, is making me new shading templates. Once those are done, I can get back to growings.

20 July
- Sent PMs out to adolescent owners down to Kronos to find out what those Ferrus' final forms will be; as they get back to me, we'll have some adult growings (though I've not got much of a start on the Dark template yet).
- I'll be gone from tomorrow (Thursday) to the 30th (a Saturday) visting friends, and I porbably won't get a chance to check in.

18 July
- Finished the shading template for the Light adult, now I just have the Dark to do. Once that's done, or maybe on breaks from doing that, I'll get to growing the current pups into adolescents. Then I'll be PMing the owners of older adolescents to see whether they'd like their Ferrus will be Dark or Light.

4 July
- Ferrus will no longer be RP-required. RP-encouraged, yes, but not required. I got the sense it was feeling too much of a burden to everyone involved. I'll be tweaking the RP world, too, I think. I feel a bit funky mucking about in Chii's world, but it needs to be done. Roleplay will be moved to here, the main thread, as well.
- Also, current Ferrus aside, the final stage of non-roleplayed Ferrus will be chosen randomly. Owners who roleplay their Ferrus will still determine whether their Ferrus are Dark or Light.
- On another note, I need to get back in touch with the banner contest winner...

About Ferrus

Ferrus behave much like the wild wolf. Some have a tendency to form packs, where a ranking system like the wolf's would apply (alphas, betas, etc.). Ferrus may talk to one another through oral speech, as well as the usual canine forms of communication like growling, howling, et cetera. However, Ferrus cannot speak to their human owners. Some Ferrus and their owners have such a close connection in which words do not need to be used for them to understand one another. ^^
Physically, the average Ferrus stands several inches taller than the grey wolf. The average Ferrus is also larger than its lupine cousin. The ruff of fur around its head and neck adds an illusion of size. However, there are always exceptions to the rule, and Ferrus can come in various shapes and sizes.

6. This is a big, big place...feel free to create your own locations. No villages full of people though (if you want an abandoned, decaying one, be my guest), this place is also isolated: characters can travel outside if they need something, but generally this isn't specifically roleplayed out, as it occurs outside of Midgard...by all means, though, refer to such travels as often as you like. It's also worth noting that it would be a long, hard journey, and therefore one likely not often made.

Stages and Growth of Ferrus

While roleplay is no longer required for Ferrus to grow, they will still mature at a fairly slow rate so that those who do wish to RP have plenty of time to do so at each stage.

It stalks the ghettos of the world, the lost forsaken kid who has tasted sorrow far too early. Are you the owner that will bring it out of its road to hell?

The adolescent..

Ah, we enter the turbulent adolescent years. Your Ferrus pup has now "matured" into a sullen, sulky creature. Will you continue to nurture it to help it break free from its bonds of sin, to achieve its highest potential?

The adult..

This third stage depends on how you RP your Ferrus (or, if you choose not to roleplay, which form your Ferrus takes is random). If you make the Ferrus' personality evil then it will be evil, if you make it good, then it will be a good ferrus. This stage will take a lot of work. 3nodding

A great choice stands before you. Having been an active, nurturing owner, roleplaying regularly with your Ferrus and being active in the thread and all that good stuff - your Ferrus is now ready to achieve its final stage--it is poised on the brink of Fate.

Based on how you roleplay your Ferrus, it will may break its bonds and become the most fearsome of the macabre, a dark angel of despair. (obviously, this will only happen if you portray your Ferrus in a dark or "evil" manner).
If you are a kind, nurturing owner, your care and love may reach the hardest of hearts. If this is the case, your Ferrus will turn from an angel of death, destruction, and chaos into a bringer of hope, peace, and light.

FAQ

How much do they cost?
Flatsale Ferrus cost 3k; auctions, of course, will vary widly. They will, however, start at 4k.

How do I get a Ferrus?
Through flatsales (there will be a prompt), auctions, perhaps contests or...other things.

Are the genders pre-determined?
Sometime yes, sometimes no. Most of the time we will have the winners of the flat sales/auctions pick the gender.

Will the lineart change in any way?
This is highly unlikely.

Can I have a free one?...I'm poor!
No...we do not give away free Ferrus to beggars. Ferrus might be given to those who show themselves worthy...begging, however, is not a good way to go about getting yourself a Ferrus.

Do you do pet trades?
Yes, but it depends on the pet. Just check out the list further down; feel free to offer something not on the list, though.

How many Ferrus can I own?
As many as you can keep up with. However, most flatsales and possibly some auctions will be limited to those who have no Ferrus.

Ferrus? Ferri? Ferruses? What's the plural?!
Ferrus is both the singular and plural form.

Fornicating and Roleplaying

Ferrus are a roleplay-encouraged pet. No roleplay=no bundles of enchained joy. Breeding requires a bit of fore----er-----roleplay. *cough* See 3rd post for RP info, see below for breeding info.

Flatsale soon~
Flatsale planned for Saturday September 10th @ 9PM EST.
There will be four winners, and you'll get to pick from one of the four basic colors of Ferrus for your pup. The winners will pay the flatsale price of 3k.

Flatsale will be a speed flatsale. First four people to post after my GO post. "[color (blue, green, red, or grey)] [gender (male or female)], please!" (ex.: 'Blue female, please!')

Again, to be clear, there is NOT only one of each color or some such thing. If the first four people all post for blue females, they all get blue females. Also, this flatsale is for NON-owners only. You may post/buy for someone else if they are a non-owner; however, if you do this, you may not post to claim one for yourself.

Bonus: Because we're rather short one females, as you'll notice if you glance at the owner list, I'll be offering an incentive to those who choose female Ferrus in this flatsale. You'll get 10 extra stat points to allocate as you wish. ^_^

Customs!
Customs are currently open.

Every now and then I'll open some custom slots (or they might just stay open, unless for some reason I get overloaded o.o). So...pricing is thus:

Custom common: 100k (example)

A 'common' refers to any Ferrus with the pattern type above :3. For a custom common, you choose the top color (below that will be a lighter shade of that color, and then white).
----For another 25k, you can mix it up and choose all three of the colors (purple on top of pink with a black base, etc.).

Full custom: 200k (example)

You choose colors/markings/patterns.
----Complex markings (such as extensive tattooing, etc.) add another 50k (250k total). This includes very specific patterning (such as tiger stripes, tabby stripes, etc.; as opposed to non-descript, generic sort of stripes xd ).

With all customs, you choose whether their final stage will be light or dark, regardless of whether or not you roleplay them. Of course, you also choose gender and eye color.

To order a custom, just send a PM to this mule telling me the specifics of want you want (no special form, just throw it at me!), send the trade (also to this mule), and I'll get right on it :3.

Lineart edits are not available.
