Inle is an incredibly laid-back person, bordering on lazy. She enjoys little more than sleeping in. Her tastes run towards the eccentric, as her collection of unique rubber duckies and 80's heavy metal records indicates. While she isn't a people person, she doesn't go out of her way to alienate herself; not on purpose anyway. Inle is incredibly cynical and sarcastic, but neither bitter nor angry, and she's loyal and protective of those she cares about. To her friends and family, she's always got a shoulder to cry on and an ear to rant into.
Briseis is a curious baby. She's very vocal and expressive, even for someone so young. She can't talk yet, of course, but she seems to make a different kind of sound depending on what she wants. She loves playing with the fluffy end of Narawen's tail, and seems to get along well with everyone in the house, although she's afraid of Vangreth.
Caduceus has got a rebellious streak, and tends to be somewhat manipulative. Deep down, he's got a good heart. He often helps Inle take care of the younger members of the household. Deuce, as he is nicknamed, is rarely seen without his staff and lantern.

The Phuuaso are born completely apathetic, and rarely take the initiative to do anything without being told. Such is the case with Ephenrix, although Inle is trying to teach it how to feel. It doesn't seem to care one way or the other about much of anything yet, however, though it does seem to have a sweet tooth...
Vangreth is a Windigo, a devourer of spirit and flesh. Vangreth isn't exactly a social creature, but she's amicable enough towards Inle, if no one else. She doesn't really like anyone else, especially the children, as she's been banned from eating them.
Eki is one of the Boundless, the anthropomorphic embodiment of an extinct animal; in this case, he is the Megalania Prisca. He has grown into a quiet, inquisitive child. Eki doesn't hesitate to speak his mind; it probably won't earn him many friends in the future, but he doesn't seem to care. He is just as picky about who he deigns to acknowledge, and will often ignore those he deems unworthy in hopes that they'll leave him alone.
Khepri is a Lunec. He's a playful sort, if a bit airheaded, and always ready to help. He, like Deuce, helps Inle out with many of the younger children.
Spunky and cheerful, Delphina is a fun person to be around. She's usually quite perky and playful, and LOVES jokes; she has a mischievous streak a mile wide, but she doesn't mean any harm. She can occasionally come off as insensitive, though, because of her fondness for jokes and seeming inability to take anything seriously.
Ciaran is a curious baby, who always seems to be in the middle of whatever trouble is going on at the time. He's utterly fearless (or too young to know better), and loves to be the center of attention. An innocent air seems to surround him, although he's really anything but.

Ayoka - Met once, briefly; she seemed kind of sad.
Kanene - Saw in the shop once, thought he looked kinda scary.
Adrienne - Thinks she's pretty nice and stuff, even if she does eat people's faces. She gave him his first gift, a flower.
Lieneke - Never met
Erasmus - The first person ever Pavel didn't immediately fear for some reason or another. Erasmus was nice to Pavel, and even offered to walk him home one night.
Andie - She's got a knife, holy s**t! eek Pavel wanted to name it "Stabbity Death," but Andie didn't like the name. He thinks her accent is cool.
Reaghan - Pavel wanted to giggle at Reaghan, thinking him a leprechaun, but was afraid he'd get yelled at.
Taye - Pavel saw Dri eat his face; doesn't know otherwise.
Alaric - Pavel remembers Ric from his wisp stage. Ric kind of yelled at him, so Pavel's kind of wary around him.
Khipri - Remembers her from his wisp stage as well; she touched him when they were both wisps and made Pavel feel funny. The first Kuat Pavel ever met.
Rage - Never met
Devotion - Never met
Destruction - Never met

1/07/05 - Journal Entry
I'm not sure how it happened. I was running, right? Old man Giovanni, the guy who runs the pizza parlor, finally snapped, and he was chasing people around with a pizza cutter, and it's just bad, bad times. I mean, I guess it wasn't so bad if you were watching, but if YOU were one of the people being chased around by an 80 year old man...well, you get my drift.
So I duck into this shop, to escape the insanity, only to find MORE insanity. I saw all these smoking shapes, so I immediately assumed the place was on fire and I was about to run out of there when I noticed that the smoke wasn't actually smoke. I mean, it might have been...but there were a ton of different colors, and each color seemed to move independently of the others. It was then that I noticed a woman off to a side of the room, staring at me blankly.
Curious, I questioned her about these smokey figments, and she began telling me all about them. She explained about the letters, and how the wisps came from them, and that they were called Kuatalmots. She also explained that they were concentrated emotions. During her spiel, one of the wisps had floated down from the high rafters of the building. While the woman, whose name I learned was Sukiwen, was speaking, it drifted closer to her, eventually pressing itself against her back. Its "head" peeked out from behind her, as a small, shy child might. Sukiwen shuddered at the wisp's contact.
"That's a...Kuatalmot, then?" I asked. She nodded jerkily, and I continued. "I see...which emotion is it?"
"P-paranoia!" she exclaimed, voice almost squeaky. "You want it? I'll sell it to you, half off even!" She seemed desperate to sell it, but I wasn't sure why. Half-off, however, is something I couldn't pass up, so I agreed. Tentatively, the wisp detached itself from Sukiwen and drifted towards me. I was wary as she emitted a huge sigh of relief. With a promise that we would be back soon, the wisp and I turned to leave. "Remember, no refunds!" she called to us as we walked out the door.
Almost absently, I wondered why I would want to return such a pretty, seemingly harmless thing. Then it cautiously wrapped itself around me, and suddenly, I knew.

1/07/05 - RP Recap
Inle walked into the strange shop for the second time that day. It was under much different circumstances, however, as this time, a dull green and blue wisp was wrapped around her lower leg, much like a small, scared child might be. Inle herself looked incredibly nervous as she entered, and nearly jumped out of her skin at the sound of the bells jingling as she pushed the door open.
She had the strangest urge to run and hide in a corner, away from all the big, bad dustbunnies that seemed to loom threateningly in the room. She forcibly fought that feeling, however, making her protesting body walk deeper into the area. Her voice shook noticeably as she called out, "H-hello?"
Adrienne had been putting around in the bathroom, toying with her bubble-gum pink hair. Taking it up, putting it down, fluffing it, brushing it. She'd come to the shop in hopes of running into someone, but as of yet no one had arrived. Loozy was resting just outside the open door, his fluffy ears perking at the sound of the bells jingling at the front door.
With a shrill, "Baaaaaaaaaaaaaby! I woke up this mornin', somethin' somethin.. When I get that feeeeeelin', I want sexuuual heeeeeeeealin'!" Adrienne burst out of the bathroom, swooping up Loozy at the same time, twirling him around and stopping abruptly when she realized she wasn't alone. She peered at the newcomer and her wisp, a big grin splitting her face. "Hiya!"
Erasmus was the next to find his way to the Kuat Shop HQ, having wandered over from his Apartment in hopes of avoiding Merewen and Anabella as they searched the study for all of Anabella's belongings. They were still doing the girly thing, talking about Aunt Annie's wedding and everything they used to do that they wouldn't be able to do now that she was moving out.
Pulling open the door, he walked in, blinking as he noticed the new figure, and Adrienne. He smiled politely, waving to the both of them as he shed his hat, jacket and scarf.
The wisp curled itself tighter around Inle's leg, and as she saw the pink-haired girl, she immediately thought OH GOD, it's a giant thing of cotton candy and it's SINGING and it's gonna EAT ME! The wisp attached to her leg squeaked as if it had read her mind and agreed with what it found there.
Then came those damnable bells again, and HOLY s**t, that guy was tall! Were people supposed to be that tall? NOOOO, don't come any closer! With a squeak of fright that echoed the wisps, Inle dove behind the couch.
Adrienne boggled at the queeishly odd woman and her icy-looking wisp, shoulder hefting in a shrug. Loozy's pugnacious nose tweaked slightly before he yipped at the newcomer, Eras. Adrienne set the little dog down and it instantly set off after Erasmus with a growl.
"Hiya, Eras! How do you like my hair? Isn't it like.. the most sexiest thing?" Dri trilled towards him before bouncing over to the couch and peering over the back of it. She blinked devilishly before muttering, "Boo, baby, yeah."
Erasmus blinked down at the growling dog, backing up slightly. "It looks good, really good, Dri." He told her as he stared at the dog, "Why is it growling at me?" He questioned a little nervously. He never did like dogs, Merewen and he had been to a pet shop, the dogs all seemed to be a little off.
"Dri! I should just.. probably ahh, go. I just wanted to see if you-know-who was here. And they're not.. So I think I'm going to go home and call them, you know.." He scooped his stuff up, and waved, eyeing the dog once more before leaving quickly.
Inle's eyes nearly bugged out of her skull as she saw the pink haired child appear over the couch. The wisp emitted almost a squeal of terror, finally detaching itself from Inle's leg to swiftly dart upwards, towards the rafters. Inle fell backwards, onto her a**, and blinked as if aware of herself for the first time. "Uh..." she started, somewhat confused by the instant feeling of her usual confidence. "That was a whole lot of...not cool. Sorry about that. It's been doing that all day."
Adrienne wandered over and picked up Looz, waving to Eras as he departed. She turned her attention back to the 'off her rocker' gal, brows raised in speculation. "Yeah? Like.. what's wrong with it? What emotion?" Dri glanced up at the trembling wisp, nose wrinkled the slightest. "It's wicked gorgeous, whatever it is." Dark eyes rested once more on Inle, "I'm Adrienne, call me Dri. And this," she hefted up Looz, "Is my pookie wookie sugarlumps Lucifer. Looooooozy!!"
Inle muttered under her breath, "I'd say batshit if I didn't know any better." She cleared her throat, responding to the child, "That, I think, would be Paranoia. And thanks, I think." She tilted her head upwards, looking at her wayward wisp. "Say thanks!" she called to it, and it bobbed in acknowledgement. "I'm Inle," she said, looking forwards once more. She snickered at the handleless mop that was Lucifer. "Aptly named," she said with a smile.
Adrienne plopped a kiss on Loo's head before looking up at the wisp. "How weird. That tall guy that came in here earlier was Erasmus, he's totally awesome." Paranoia, huh. What a crazy emotion. "I bet that's like.. really weird feelin, huh. Cracked me up when you hid behind the couch. What did you think I was, a monster or something?"
At this point, Loozy promptly set to growling. Adrienne cooed at the furry mutt, seemingly in love with him despite his bad manners. "Yes, mommy loves her little hunka love!"
"Po! Stop fooling around! I want you to meet Eras so get a move on." High pitched angry monkey sounds was all he recieved from his companion. But it grudgingly scampered up the lean boy's body and curled it's arms around his head.
Mekania told him to get out for awhile and he was only too happy to oblige. He missed Erasmus and was worrying about his health. Though, he was trying to avoid going to the apartment. For some reason, he just didn't want to face Merewen.
Soon, the two were at the shop and Kanene entered the sitting room, looking for Eras.
Hearing the door open again, Adrienne turned to peer at the newcomer. Her cheeks flushed a bright red as she instantly turned to bury her face into Loo's fur again, muttering a quick, "Hello." to Kanene.
No Erasmus, damnit. His eyes went to Adrienne and her embarassment. Kanene scowled. God, was that girl not over their kiss yet? It's just getting ridiculous now.
Po started screeching in his ear at the sight of a potential victim. Nene had worked out a system of communication with the animal in the past few days and recognized the sounds for what they were. He grabbed the monkey by the scruff of it's neck as it tried to launch itself at Dri. "NO, Po! Behave!" His voice was stern and the monkey climbed back up his arm sulkingly. When Kanene turned his attention back to Dri, however, the monkey got a strange glint in his eye.
"Sorry about that, he won't....what the hell did you do to your hair?" He inwardly smacked himself for not noticing it before. It was PINK, how the hell do you miss that?
Ayoka slid into the Kuatalmot shop, her scarf whipping about in the icy wind. She murmured a greeting to everyone in the shop as she hung her various winter articles up on the coat rack. She let a quick shiver run through her body. Gaia was obscenely cold, even in places that had central heating. In her own home, socks were most definitely a necessity.
The girl turned to scan the room for familiar faces, but took in a breathe when she saw Adrienne. "Wha--?" She managed to croak. "What happened?"
"A cotton candy demon, actually," she said, no trace of embarassment in her voice. Inle idly wondered if Paranoia would affect the ill-tempered dog as much as it did her, but resisted the urge to call it down and find out. She turned to glance at the newcomer and was about to greet him when Paranoia shot down from the ceiling, placing itself in front of Inle before quickly moving forwards against her, as if it was afraid of something. Inle immediately got it; it was afraid of the monkey, and now it was kinda freaking her out too.
Adrienne giggled madly at the attention, though she still wouldn't make any eye contact with Kanene. "I dyed it pink! It's so hot, don't you think?" Clearing her throat, she shot a nervous glance at Kanene, figuring it best to just ignore him and that.. creature of his. Suddenly it was important that Ayoka approved of her change in appearance, "Do you like it?"
The instant that Kanene's monkey shrilled, Looz's ears rose to attention. A horrific growl escaped the demonic dog, and before Adrienne could stop him he'd bounded out of her arms and scuttled across the room, stopping in front of Kanene.
Kanene almost laughed at Dri. Hot? I don't think so. He lifted his shoulder casually, "I'm now thankful I made out with you while it was still black." And then the mutt came over. Nene arched an eyebrow and the monkey pointed and...laughed? It was a strange monkey. Kanene was beginning to suspect Mek bought him in one of the more shady shops that no one likes to talk about. But Po was his partner in crime. So Kanene loved him.
"Mind keeping your dog away from my pants?"
Well, it certainly was different. "Yes, of course I like it. You look even more wonderful." Ayoka said, the corner of her mouth twitching in that near-smile sort of way. Adrienne really did look gorgeous this way, she just looked so strange! It gave her a whole new air, this color. She positively reeked of happiness, something almost catching on Ayoka's side.
"Did you both get pets?" she inquired, attempting to lead the two away from their kissing reference. When they talked about that, it made Ayoka especially uncomfortable...almost jealous.
Adrienne snorted at the mention of Kanene's kiss, rolling her eyes and muttering something unintelligible under her breath. She bit back the comment she really wanted to make, saying instead, "Sorry. I think he likes your ..ah.. monkey." With another gigglish snort, Dri turned her attention back to Ayoka, "Yes, isn't he precious?" Calling Looz over, Adrienne picked him up when he danced up for her, "His name is Lucifer. Looz." She pointed at Inle, "And that's Inle, and her wisp is Paranoia." Turning so that Inle couldn't see her motion, Dri made the little crazy motion with her index finger near her temple, giggling again.
Kanene raised his eyebrow, but she did call the dog back before he had to kick it. "Thanks." With that, he and Po went to the kitchen without acknowledging Ayoka's and the wisps presence. Po turned his head and peered evilly at the room before disappearing behind the kitchen door.
Inle raised a suddenly frozen hand partially into the air, wiggling her fingers in a greeting motion before her gaze skittered to the floor. Paranoia had wrapped its tail around her waist. The bulk of it was behind her back, and what looked to be its head peeked over her shoulder at the rest of the group.
Through her paranoia, Inle was getting pissed off. She was a GROWN WOMAN, for ******** sake! She could buy booze, and gamble, and all those adult things! Why was she being so skittish around a bunch of tiny preteens? Even around Paranoia's influence, there was no call for this, right? "Wow," she wondered silently to herself, "if this is what it is just as a wisp, I hate to think what it'll be like when it grows up!"
A crazy one? She must have gotten Paranoia. Oh, Ayoka was certainly glad to have that thing out of the house. Always making her jumpy. She nodded in understanding, and stood on her tiptoes to peer over the top of the couch. Yes, that was a grown woman, and yes, she was huddled in a ball like a child.
Ayoka ran a hand through her comparitavely bland hued hair, and let the strands fall. "Well, Kanene doesn't seem too impressed with your...change." She remarked, noticing his lack of comments.
Adrienne's skinny shoulders lifted in a nonchalant shrug, "Ahh, well. I mean, his hair is purple, and purple is just a few shades off from pink.. or something." Dri set down Lucifer and spun around in a circle. "I just love this pink hair, honestly. It just makes me feel so much better about myself." Flopping onto the couch, she too peered over the backrest, "Are you ever gonna come out from back there?"
Inle blinked, looking owlishly up at the girl. Paranoia instinctively cowered under her gaze, although after a moment it seemed to relax, loosening its grip around Inle. It even went so far as to move slightly over her shoulder, drifting curiously up towards the pink-haired girl. Apparently it had decided that she was no threat to itself. Inle sighed in relief; she didn't know how much longer she could keep this up.
Ayoka sat down on the couch next to Adrienne and pulled her legs up underneath her. She bent over the back of the couch as well. "Hello..." She said, thinking of how ridiculous this woman looked. Her eyes were as big as saucers! She was obviously terrified of all of them, something that came from her wisp. Most likely.
Paranoia uncoiled further upon sight of this familiar one. This one it knew, this one wouldn't hurt it. It released Inle's body, drifting upwards to drape itself along Ayoka's shoulders. Inle breathed a sigh of relief; this whole emotional possession thing was starting to wear her out. "Hi," she said. "Are you one of these..." here she gestured vaguely, "Kuatalthingies too?"
Elocyn wandered into the room, eyes flitting around, heart thumping against her ribs. She was nervous -- this was her first meeting with the other Kuatalmot guardians, and ... she wanted to make a good impression. She had to make a good impression, just had to, or else the world would...
She shook her head. Passion was hovering above her shoulders, smokey wings actually flapping, whether for the motion or to keep aloft Elo' wasn't sure. She couldn't tell if what she was feeling was simple nervousness, or if it were impacted by the Passion floating above her, as her desire to make a good impression was more than just a simple desire...
Passion flitted around Elo's head. It had, apparently, chosen not to surge in ahead of the woman who it kept with, but after she passed through the door, she surged forward, anticipating the other presences in the room, and excited to meet everyone.
Ayoka nodded. "The very first. Nice to meet you." Paranoia's touch sent a shiver down her spine. Suddenly her ears seemed sharper, and she could hear all the rustles, noises, and tiny little sounds, and all of them made her jump. Jump inwardly, of course. Externally her eyes just grew a bit wide. She coughed into her hand and slid down into a sitting position on the couch. So many wisps, all coming at once. It was crazy. Soon all of Gaia would be populated with the humanoid children!
Oh, and here came another one. Ayoka raised a hand in polite greeting. This must have been Passion.
Adrienne eyed the light-colored wisp with something similar to distaste, but when another stranger and another wisp entered, she was almost captivated by the deep ruby red of the gaseous winged thing. Blowing at the Paranoia wisp with the intent to distract it from poor Ayoka, her eyes remained locked on the newest wisp to arrive. "I'm one, too. A kuatalmot. Lust."
Inle's head turned as the door opened, and her eyebrows raised at the sight of the newcomer. Or, more importantly, at the newcomer's wisp. It was a rich, bloody red, a far cry from her own icy-colored one. Paranoia seemed to dislike Adrienne's blowing on it and wrapped itself tighter around Ayoka, before noticing the Passion wisp and burrowing closer still.
Elocyn drifted over to the people and "children" who appeared to be in conversation. "I'm one too... lust," she heard. That child, with pink hair? Lust? Interesting. She introduced herself.
"I'm Elocyn... I recieved this yesterday...." she faltered, as she saw the silvery wisp wrapped around one of the children.
Passion swept towards the silvery wisp, and brushed against its silvery wings, ignoring the obvious clinging that the wisp was doing to another.
Adrienne was tranfixed by the red wisp, "Which one is that? It's so pretty.." She watched both of the wisps carefully, one hand carefully grasping hold of Ayoka's hand. That red wisp was just so vivid, bright and red. Dri wasn't too sure about Inle and the light wisp, though.. they were just too weird..
Reaghan walked into the shop, his head down, but slightly bobbing. He looked up and put down his hood, then took off his headphones. "New Wisps, eh?" He said as he walked over towards the others.
Paranoia instinctively shied away from Passion, wings fluttering in near agitation for a moment before it calmed down, slightly loosening its hold on Ayoka to tentatively brush back. Its tail remained firmly wrapped around the girl's shoulders, however, as if it sought to use her as an anchor.
Passion felt the movement of the other Kuat, and moved towards it, wings flipping out, a desperate attempt to reach the silvery wisp. As her own, deep red wing brushed against the silvery one, her tail dragged through some hair -- real hair. Pink hair.
Reaghan flopped down on the couch and watched the wisps. He gasped when he noticed Dri's full-on pink hair. "Whoa! When did you do that?" He stood up and bravely walked over to her, petting her hair slightly. "It's brilliant!"
Adrienne was in the midst of greeting Reaghan when she was teased by the red wisp. Instantly, the feelings that Dri remembered as a wisp were brought to life; the same feelings that she'd kept tamped down for so long in order to not offend Ayoka. A redhot flame of passion licked through her veins, enhanced by the lust that all to oftend lurked just beneath the surface of the young girl.
Instantly, Dri turned to Ayoka, cheeks flushed and eyes heavy-lidded. She cupped Ayo's cheek, leaning close with parted lips.
At that particular moment a loud shout erupted from the kitchen and the heinous monkey shot through the door scrabbling over everything and everyone, it's slime covered paws leaving a trail of ickyness. He gave a sound that was similar to a cackle as he landed on the pink-haired girl from earlier.
Reaghan stepped back for a moment, watching with wide eyes at Dri and Ayoka. He glanced at the wisps, then back at Dri. Wow, this could be interesting, He thought to himself.
Paranoia was starting to get noticeably agitated with the close proximity of all these people, and wisps, and feelings...with a shy flutter, it detached itself from Ayoka to hide behind the red wisp, its tail curling around the other's almost shyly. It peeked around from behind the red wisp as if watching the proceedings.
Ayoka was jerked out of her silence with Adrienne's face so close to her own. She could feel the other girl's warm breath on her cheek. Oh, she could feel Passion's presence tainting the other girl's motives, but it was still something...
As she was turning to meet Adrienne's deep gaze, their connection was broken by none other than Kanene's monkey. Well, that certainly ended that.
Adrienne shrieked when the monkey landed on her head, instantly reaching and grabbing the filthy beast around the neck with her hand. Almost as if coming out of a daze, she stood and screamed, "KANEEEEEEEEEEEENE!??"
The loud noises instantly set Lucifer to barking ferociously, his buggy eyes bulging out dangerously with each little yip.
Reaghan covered his ears and ran into the kitchen, "Oi...can things get any louder?" He leaned against the counter and put his head down.
The wanted boy stumbled out of the kitchen, shoving Reaghan out of his way, his clothing covered in the muck on the monkey's paws. He gritted his teeth when he saw the mess and heard Dri's shout. "PO! DAMNIT!" He stomped over and ripped the monkey out of Dri's hands. He was practically shaking with rage.
Passion observed the reactions of these people with interest, until something pushed its way through her tail.
Elocyn had reached up to grab her wisp, forgetting that the being was insubstantial. Her hand dropped, grasping nothing but air, and a surge of desire shot through her. She really needed her boyfriend, like, right then. She shook her head again, causing a slight throb in her temples. This had happened most of the times she had come into contact with the wisp, and it wasn't something she enjoyed when it was unexpected. Passion was great and all that, but suddenly wanting to jump her boyfriend like there was no tomorrow? Not so cool in public places.
"Come on, Passion, we have to go." Elo checked her watch, flicking her wrist so the metal on her (self proclaimed) Fat Man Watch clinked together. "Time to go home."
The wisp departed reluctantly, drifting out behind Elo'.
Ayoka's cheeks heated quickly. Oh, she had been so close, and now she was just humiliated. Standing quickly, she donned her outerwear and stepped out of the shop, calling out a short "goodbye" over her shoulder.
Adrienne helplessly watched Ayoka leave, pausing for a moment before turning to face Kanene. "What in the HELL is going on?! Kanene, keep that monster on a leash!" Scooping up Lucifer, she stalked over to her jacket and scarf, slipping them on before slipping out the door.
Paranoia emitted a high pitched whine as Passion left, moving once more to dart behind the couch. The slamming door signalling Dri's departure startled Inle out of the nap she was taking against the back of the couch, and she yawned and stretched. Slowly, she stood, and Paranoia draped itself once more around her waist. Inle shuddered, but was quickly getting used to the extreme mood swings. Looking around somewhat dazedly, she glanced at Kanene, murmuring, "Bye, uhh...guy," before slipping out the door.

1/10/05 - RP Recap
Elocyn wandered into the shop, Passion close behind her, the two humming Rachmaninoff in harmony. Elocyn looked around for a moment, and, spying nobody, whipped The Confusion out of her bag, settling down on the couch for some page turning.
Passion settled first on Elo's shoulders, but, intolerant of Stephenson's pretentious writing, contented itself by drifting around the room, still humming.
Inle entered the shop not long after, looking utterly exhausted. Paranoia had practically been glued to her side since she had first encountered it, and it was beginning to frazzle her nerves. She didn't jump, this time, as the entrance bells rang, but she did cast a wary glance at both the woman and the wisp. Paranoia instinctively curled tighter around her waist, and Inle sighed as she sat herself in a corner of the room.
Cal peered in from the doorway, slightly apprehensive about what she might find upon entering this strange shop. Her worst fear was that it would contain a legion of people surrounded by their wisps, all gibbering away madly with uncontrollable emotions. As she paused, Disgust floated in over her head, the tip of his "tail" just brushing her hair. She leapt back from the doorframe, wiping her hands furiously on her jeans. That thing was probably CRAWLING with germs. Ew.
Disgust, meanwhile, floated into the shop--but only to escape the smog-polluted air of the outdoors. Unfortunately, there were other germ-riddled life forms present in the shop, including one of his own kind. He hoped it wouldn't try to touch him. It was common knowledge that red was the dirtiest color.
Adrienne skipped down the snow-covered streets daringly, on her way to the Kuata shop. Swinging open the door she breezed in, cheeks pink and hair even pinker. Lucifer was with her, of course, and she set him down as soon as she entered before moving to take off her coat, scarf and knit cap. Lucifer waddled over to Elo and her wisp, sniffing at her feet daintily. "Oh, hey!" Adrienne waved to Inle and Elo, grasping a book in her free hand. Curiously she eyed the other occupant and the green wisp floating over her head. "Hi. Haven't seen you here before. I'm Adrienne."
Passion moved closer to the new wisp, the green one it hadn't encountered before. A natural curiosity took hold of the violent red puffs-of-smoke creation and it surged into the green wisp.
Elocyn stood up, sighing inwardly -- she had wanted to read -- and reached out a hand to the girl standing by the door. On second thoughts -- she brushed off her hand on her jeans a few times -- and reached out again. "Hi, I'm Elocyn. And you are?" Inle she knew from the other night, and man-nodded to her.
"I'm so late, Taye! I told you, just hang out at the HQ for a while, this shoot is really important to me." She shuffled Taye towards the door. "Now, behave." She peeked her head into the door, still ushering the boy inside. "Hey!" She said towards the group of new people in the room. Then, she turned to leave.
"God, I don't want to talk to anyone." He said looking around the HQ. "Not even Dri. I am the best Kuat around here and no one seems to fully understand that yet. Hmph..they're jealous." He said in the back of his mind.
Almost forgetting everything he just thought, he waved to Dri, the only Kuata in the room. "Hey sexy, how are you today?"
Cal shook the offered hand, smiling reassuredly. Apparently these people weren't all under the influence of their wisps, which was good. "Nice to meet you, Elocyn. You too, Adrienne," she added to the little pink-haired girl. "I'm Calliel--nobody calls me that, just call me Cal. And that's...Disgust, at least I THINK it is," she said, pointing up at the green wisp. As it was attacked by the red one, she grimaced. "Oh, dear."
GAHHH! What the hell?!? Disgust's first thought was that he did NOT want this unknown wisp touching him. And then...that feeling was amplified. He REALLY didn't want it touching him. He wanted it gone. NOW. The feeling kept growing....gahhh, he couldn't stand it! Like a shot, he flew across the room and lurked in the corner, quaking slightly.
"Erm...ah. Anyway. Adrienne, are you one of these...Kua--people?" she asked. She still hadn't quite got the hang of that word yet.
Inle nodded back, curling up tighter as more people began to arrive. Paranoia inched closer, almost blanketing her, until she waved it off. It squeaked in distress, upset about being dismissed, and reluctantly detached itself. It stayed close to the walls of the room, drifting about almost lazily as it silently inspected these newcomers.
What were they? Were they dangerous? They certainly didn't look it, but one could never be too careful. Oh, there was that red wisp from the other night. That one wasn't too bad, but what was that green one next to it? With a wary curiosity, it drifted closer to the group.
Dri snrked to herself before noticing Taye enter the shop. "Oooh, hey, Taye." She blew him a kiss and a wink, moving over to the couch that rested against the wall. Lucifer followed, nails clicking on the floor. Adrienne watched the goings on warily, patting the seat next to her indicating that Taye should come and sit down.
Taye just now noticed the change to Dri's hair, and he liked it A LOT. He loved things that screamed out at you and that were like no other. Taye smiled, winked back and walked towards the couch to sit down. "Wow Dri, I'm am loving what you did to your hair!"
Disgust noticed the new wisp edging its way over to his side of the room, and to that filthy red one. As long as it didn't try to touch him, it was all right...at least other wisps couldn't do the ridiculous things humans did, like violence and kissing and all those other nasty sordid things. He watched its approach impassively, hoping it would maintain a healthy distance.
Adrienne was always a sucker for compliments. She giggled at Taye, flipping the long ponytail over her shoulder. "Thanks, Taye. Nyxa totally flipped out when she saw what I did." Dri leaned close and plopped a kiss on his cheek, ruffling his hair before sitting back down.
Why did the green one move away? Did the red one do something next to it? Paranoia certainly didn't want to get hurt (regardless of the fact that it wasn't even sure if it could BE hurt), and moved closer to the green one. Maybe it was afraid too? Maybe they could be afraid together!
Passion mrred discontentedly at Disgust's treatment, and stayed still as the silvery wisp from the other night drifted toward it. Passion didn't particularly enjoy the strangeness that the silvery wisp sent into her -- a strangeness that suggested that someone other than the girl she followed around knew everything about the dark red wisp -- but enjoyed the silvery colours, so tolerated the other for the moment.
Elocyn grinned and excused herself from conversation, offering a hand to Inle, who had just been freed from her own wisp. "Feeling better?"
Taye formed his face into a huge smile. "So, Nyxa flipped out, did she? I don't see why, it's absolutely gorgeous! If I was your parent, I would have called you a genius." He looked down to the puppy, petting it gently on the head. "Who's this?" He asked as he stood up to take off his coat, exposing his dark, smooth chest. He placed the leather coat on the back of the couch, as he normally did.
Unfortunately for Paranoia, and perhaps for Disgust as well, the blue-grey-green wisp was a horrible judge of character. It took the green wisp's reaction as fear rather than utter distaste, and cautiously extended its tail, brushing it against the other's.
Inle gratefully accepted the woman's hand, sighing as she brushed herself off. With a baleful glance at her wisp she replied, "Not really, but thanks for asking. Paranoia there just doesn't know the meaning of "personal space." I wouldn't mind it if it didn't make me so edgy." Her glance then turned to the crimson wisp. "Which one is that, if you don't mind me asking?"
Dri lifted up Lucifer, making kissy faces at the satanic dog. Oddly enough the dog didn't growl at Taye as he was often prone to do, instead he sat nicely on the couch and allowed the petting.
"Yeah, well. She got over it fast enough, really. I think she secretly liked it." Adrienne leaned against the back of the couch and watched the wisps interact with each other.
Oh dammit. Why did these damn wisps have to insist on touching him? Suddenly he wasn't just repulsed by the wisp, but terrified of it. Was it going to try to kill him next? Perhaps that tendril was going to strangle him! Not that he had a neck, but he was willing to bet it would find a way. He retreated even further into the corner, feeling the fear ebb away, replaced by the usual revulsion.
"Disgust won't come near me," Cal said, hoping the others wouldn't mind her butting in. "But...that's a good thing, really, it makes me feel like I'm going to throw up every time it does!"
Taye watched Dri's eyes as they wandered towards the wisps. There were 3 new ones at the HQ. "I see we have new company. Let's see if any of them can match me." He said smiling towards Dri, jokingly. He began to play with a few strands of her ponytail, still admiring the job she had done dying it.
"Passion," replied Elocyn, nodding towards the crimson wisp. The wisp, irritated by Paranoia's removal of itself from her presence, drifted down to were Adrienne and Taye stood, idly letting itself drape on Adrienne's shoulders -- again.
Elocyn grinned as she watched the wisp, Passion had an Imp of the Perverse sitting on its left shoulder. "Passion has a very interesting effect upon people. In the shop just the other night, it caused um... a stir. Around me, it can cause me to become passionate about whatever I am doing, listening to, observing at the time. Or it can just make me want my boyfriend. Really, really badly. Observe."
Dri chuckled at Taye's remark. When he began to toy with her hair she rested her head comfortably on his shoulder; she'd missed contact with the other Kuata, especially with Ayoka. "I know the red one is passion, the light one is paranoia. I think the green one must be disgust or something. It'll be interesting to see what they grow up to look like, huh?"
Now, although the wisps didn't have a horribly strong affect on the other Kuata, Adrienne was lust; it took very little to set her off, considering the fact that she'd been trying to repress her natural feelings so as to not offend Ayoka. So when that little red puff of passion landed on her shoulders, Adrienne lifted her head from Taye's shoulder and gazed at him intently, eyes heavy-lidded, lips parted ever so slightly. She trailed slender fingers up his chest until they rested at his jawline.
Paranoia shuddered as it removed its tail from the other wisp, suddenly sickened by it and everyone around it. The feeling vanished as soon as it had appeared, and Paranoia was once more paranoid; this time, however, it was of the other wisp. It drifted away from it, now afraid of the effect it had caused. Its eyeless gaze turned to the couch, and it slowly drifted above it, spying down on its occupants. It wanted to be curious again, but...what if those creatures made it feel icky like the green wisp had? That was a chance Paranoia was not willing to take.
Inle turned briefly towards Cal, frowning a bit. "I can imagine; we've got quite the pair of bad feelings, eh?" Then, curious about Passion's effect on other people, she did as was instructed and watched the occupants on the couch.
Cal snorted. "Yeah. At least it makes me clean up around the house, though," she added, turning to watch the pair on the couch. She wondered what exactly the effect would be; she hadn't had a chance to find out if Adrienne was a Kuatalmot, and if she was, what emotion she was.
"Can't wait!" He said responding. The wisps were very beautiful. They were floating gracefully through the air, and every so often the wisps would have an interaction that looked so funny, you couldn't help but laugh.
Dri's hair was so soft. Taye couldn't help but think, "I wonder what it smells like." He continued to drag his fingers through it till Dri lifted her head from his shoulder. He looked down at her finger trailing across his abdomen. "Holy s**t..s**t." He thought to himself. He wasn't expecting this, not from Dri. "But..but, Ayoka." Again to himself. But, this Kuata was lust, another one of the seven deadly sins. He could feel himself giving in. He carefully placed his hand on her chin, keeping strong eye contact. He licked his lips and then brushed his lips onto hers.
Ew. EWWWWW. The ones down there were KISSING now. And touching each other. UGH. Such an interaction made Disgust want to throw up, which of course he couldn't; he did, however, let out a tiny squeaking noise of horror.
Adrienne purred against his mouth; such a carnal girl, this one. Dragging her fingers along his jaw and across his ear, she plunged her fingers into his hair and deepened the kiss, sucking on his lower lip. His words weren't registering with her, a mix of both her own emotion and the slight tinges she was getting from the bloodred wisp that'd taken a liking to her. There was no stopping Dri now; if someone was going to pull away, it'd have to be Taye.
Elocyn giggled gleefully as she watched the other Kuatalmot. Even if Passion didn't have a strong effect on these two, something was bound to happen, and it was doing so. "Passion has a huge effect upon me. I've always wondered of its effect upon other people."
Passion continued to drift around Dri and Taye, unaffected by the interaction in the corner, caused by Paranoia and Disgust.
Elocyn turned to Cal. "Disgust? That's got to be... interesting to hang around with."
Taye was really enjoying the kiss, it was his first. He didn't want it to end. He stroked her soft, pink hair and slightly opened his eyes and looked towards the girl. "Was this right?" He asked himself. He didn't want to hurt Ayoka, "Dri couldn't possibly be attracted to me, she has a very beautiful girl that likes her, probably loves her." He didn't know the exact details, he was the newest Kuat child afterall. While his eyes were open, he noticed the wisp latched on to Dri's shoulders. He couldn't believe it, his first kiss was driven on false intentions, by a WISP no less. He pushed her off of him and pointed to the wisp. "That's why you're kissing me?!" He asked. He was still in shock. Sure, they were all pure emotions, but that was no excuse for him. "That was my first kiss." He said softly, not wanting anyone else to hear. "And it was tainted by a WISP!" His pride was definately hurt, he couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed his jacket from the back of the couch and rushed into the kitchen, hoping to find something cold to drink.
"Not exactly fun," Cal agreed, watching the wisps rather than the two children making out. It was a bit unnerving to see that at such a young age. Suddenly, feeling something dawn on her, she checked her watch.
"Oh s**t," she said, "I've got an appointment with a potential Astra client...I've got to go. Lovely to meet you both," she added with a cheerful smile. "Oi! Disgust! Come on, we're going." With a small wave, she dashed out the door, the green wisp following in an apparently relieved way behind her.
Paranoia squeaked in alarm. Were those two...eating each other's faces off? Why would they do that?! Were they some kind of cannibals?! Paranoia didn't want to be eaten, oh no. Quickly, it darted back towards Inle, who stopped it with an outstretched hand. Over the past few days, it had come to learn that that meant Inle wanted "quiet time." It emitted what amounted to an agitated sigh, and Inle echoed it. "Alright, alright," she muttered, and the wisp eagerly wrapped itself around her waist once more.
Inle shuddered at the now-familiar feeling of fear. "As...amusing as this was, we've got to get going. See you all another time." With that, the pair turned and walked out the door.
Elocyn wandered into the shop, Passion close behind her, the two humming Rachmaninoff in harmony. Elocyn looked around for a moment, and, spying nobody, whipped The Confusion out of her bag, settling down on the couch for some page turning.

Paranoia does not seem to be doing well in my houseful of bustling children and pets. While it's not especially crowded here, you can't exactly go into a room like the kitchen or the family room and NOT find someone occupying it. The wisp shies away from the children especially, tending to drift along the ceiling. There was an interesting altercation between Paranoia and Vangreth the other day.
She's something of a wisp too, although she's much more spherical and she's got that whole "Rawr, I'm gonna eat you" thing going on. She was curious about the wisp, as it wasn't something I had told her not to eat yet, and circled it curiously. Paranoia seemed to freeze in midair, and emitted a high-pitched whine, as if it was in great distress. Vangreth answered with her own steady hum, steadily getting closer, beginning to glow brighter than normal. I recognized this as a sign that she was getting ready to feed, and put a hand up to stop her progress.
Vangreth's glow turned angry, but I knew she wouldn't hurt me. Her ethereal pseudo-voice only muttered a "bah" before she floated off. She scared the hell out of Paranoia, though. If it had been something other than a less-than-substantial wisp, I'm sure it would've peed its pants.
So Paranoia's taken to sticking by my side, almost literally. Through these long, nerve-wracking days, I've exhausted all my fear. I don't think I'll ever be afraid of anything again. Now I just feel numb, and kinda tired. I hope, when Paranoia evolves or whatever, it gets a little braver. And a lot less clingy. For all our sakes, really.
