The path to the center was rugged, but well maintained for what it's worth. From what you can tell, it seems as if no one has walked this path in months, yet it was obvious that someone has been grooming it monthly, if not weekly. Well nourished leafy plants and wild flowers line the borders, though a few small fallen branches litter the path here and there along the way. Avoiding them, as not to trip, you walk for what seems like hours, following whatever faith you have in your own sense of direction. As you find yourself at the end of the path, you look up, taking in the site of a huge facility, smack dab in the middle of the clearing. Could this be it? Is this the place? The addressed letter in your pocket could very well confirm or deny your self questioning, however, out of pure awe, the letter remained sheathed in it's envelope, buried in your pants with pens, lint and other odds and ends. Needless to say, a couple more carefully placed steps forward finds you knocking on the main door, and slowly stepping inside...
As you enter the facility, the smell of impeccable clean fills your nostrils, and natural light surrounds you in a heavenly glow. Upon looking around, you discover the source of this surreal effect; the light itself is most obviously eminating from the many windows dominating the walls of this room. A pale skinned woman in a labcoat lifts her eyes from reading charts, and her gaze falls upon your own. She scoots her glasses back up onto the ridge of her nose and smiles softly as she stands up from her desk to greet you. You just barely follow along, attempting to listen while your eyes dart around, amazed at the boxes upon boxes of paperwork and other things strewn around the woman's desk.
"Welcome to the all new, redesigned and revamped, Ava Raji Preservation Center v2.0! My name is Dr. Flaeymes, but you may call me Brooklyn if you wish. I'm so glad to have you with us this time around, i've heard so much about you. Please, feel free to take a look around the facilities and make yourself at home. We've all been anticipating your arrival. After you get settled in, go ahead and have a quick look around. Oh, and if you're hungry from your journey, group dinner is served at six. You're welcome to join us."
The woman extends her hand to you in a quick, friendly handshake and promptly afterwards, she extracts her hand from your timid grasp. She then reaches back onto her desk and hands you a small map, detailing the facilities here, and the surrounding areas. She send you on your way with another warm smile. As you take your leave of the room, she sits back down, delving right back into the piles of charts on her desk.
What a peculiar (albeit rather congenial) woman... Quite the workaholic, if you do say so yourself.
Well I suppose it's time to have a look around then, hmm?

For those of you who haven't been with us since the conception of the Ava Raji storyline, here's a brief little filler/teaser to spike your interest. And for those of you who have been around, and know what's going on, i'm throwing you a curveball. Now I know that most people might skip over all this and not read it, but it's IMPERITIVE that you atleast browse through everything once, just so that you know exactly what's going on. Recent Updates!
04/12/05 - My computer is completely and udderly SCREWED. As of right now, my only access to computers is in the LSS lab at college. I can't even get to anything off my harddrive, but I had a chance to back it up thankfully. (I got a new case to stave off overheating issues, but discovered that the processor might have more to do with it than we thought. The processor heats up to ridiculous temps of 150 degrees+ for no reason. Even when the system is just sitting there and not running any processes or anything.) Until I can get this all ironed out, there isn't much I can do in the way of certing, coloring, or much of anything else besides posting. I'm very sorry folks, but please bear with me. This seems to be nothing but a bucket of problems lately, but I assure you that i'm doing my best to get up and running again.
04/04/05 - Due to recent events, I am extremely behind. Please refer to the annoucement on pg. 61 for more information. I apologize for the lack of updates and lack of growings during all of the confusion.
03/15/05 - The Double SE St. Patty's Day Auction was just posted, and begins at 9 p.m. EST tonight. The thread is HERE. Please come check it out! As always the lineart was done by Ameh, and the colorist will be a secret mystery colorist to be reavealed once the pups hatch!
03/01/05 - Okay. For some unbenounced reason to me, guilds are disabled. I really hate to do this, but in order to retain consistancy, i'm going to postpone the rest of the hatchings once again. The remaining hatchees are Keilin and Larken, Matt and Serenity, Caneton and Carwyn, and Nyxa and Misae. Please get with me sometime tonight or tomorrow in pm or on AIM and lemme know what day would be a good day for you. Also, to ensure that all the pups will have ample time to still interact with one another, i'll be pushing back the next growing for one week to accomodate the later hatchees.
03/01/05 - All owners scheduled for a hatching tonight, please check the schedule again. I have decided to move the time back by an hour, not only to compensate for time differences, but to ensure that I have enough time to get the remaining pups from Otsune. All times have been moved back by about one hour. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
02/27/05 - Hatchings will occur tomorrow and tuesday. YOU WILL NEED AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME. [/(Kinda like a doctor's appointment for your egg, in which I will examine the egg, it will hatch, and I will give your pup it's first check up.) Each appointment will take a half an hour. There will be 6 appointments availible on Monday and six on Tuesday. Monday's times will range from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesdays will range from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., both time ranges are EST. You will need to pick a time before hand, or be around and just grab one when I say one is open. IF YOU DO NOT GET AN APPOINTMENT, YOUR EGG WILL NOT HATCH. You will have to contact me at a later point in time to hatch your egg, and your egg will lose a few points to each stat. Spirit eggs can only be hatched on Tuesday since i'm still waiting on the lineart and colored pups. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ON ONE OF THESE DAYS DUE TO A LEGITIMATE REASON, LET ME KNOW. If you excuse yourself before hand, you won't suffer any penalties to your pup's stats. Appointment time logs can be found in the pickup/recent growings area.
02/21/05 - Heads up folks. I've been informed that some of you are displaying your Ava Raji in your sig along with other pets. Fair warning. Ava Raji certs are mad to fit just under the 500x500 pixel limit. So if you are displaying another image besides that, you may be cited for sig violations. Also, the certs themselves are over the 100kb limit. I will be making smaller portrait sized certs for those of you who still want to display your ava in your sig, but I would advise you to display the full cert somewhere else, i.e. in your journal or in a shop thread you may own. I may get in trouble for letting the sigs go over 100kb if it's all traced back to here. Just keep an eye out for other owners, and please if anyone doesn't already know, make them aware of this. I'm sorry for any inconvenience folks. I'll be making alternate portrait images soon.

Preview for the auction is up here: SE Valentine's Auction MANAGERS: I'll be setting up a chat that will run most of the night so that I can catch you all here and there. You'll need to know what eggs go into your areas and such, and we'll need to talk about the christening ceremonies. So keep your eyes peeled for a chat invite sometime during or after the sale and auction.

01/25/05 - After a rather bad morning, I got one more final blow to my sanity. My high speed internet at my dorm waas turned off, because some port on my computer was allowing someone to hack into my computer and the network. (I have no clue how, but that's what the Network Admin said.) So. I'm without a highspeed connection as of now, and i'll be needing to completely reformat both my hardrives all over again and install a better firewall before they will return my access and let me back on the network. So as of now, i'll be rushing a bit more than normal once the connection is reinstated to keep us on time. Please be assured that this will NOT cause a postponement. I am completely dedicated to opening on the 14th of February as is planned.

It all began...
It's been just a little over a year since a horrific fire (later coined the 'New Year's Blaze') wiped out nearly all of Avaranth Island and most of it's animal inhabitants. The smoke and flames from the fire were so overwhelming, they were able to be seen for miles around and people on the mainland caught sight of them almost instantly. However, sadly enough, many people had neither the means or the courage to jump in and play saviour to this graceful species.
Throughout two days of blistering heat and thick smoke, one by one, the Ava Raji began to die off.
However, as we all know, every cloud has a silver lining, and this story is no exception. Through the blinding ash and soaring flames, a soaring Flaeyme in her own right turned a page in the history books.
Dr. Brooklyn Flaeymes, and her crew of ecological conservatists risked their lives with donated equipment and vehicles and made emergency drops of personel spanning the whole entire island. They scoured the landscape, leaving no stone unturned, no hole undug, no cave unexplored. Some worked night and day, not sleeping straight through the search, until they could barely walk anymore. Dozens of volunteers flowed in on extra transports, lending a hand to comb the island for any signs of life. Within days, Flae's crews had rescued nearly 15 adult Ava Raji's who had been trapped, and even a clutch of eggs that would have been hopelessly doomed had these saints not given their time and lives to save them.
Within months, all of the surviving Ava Raji had caring homes with residents of Gaia, and the Ava's were rehabilitated, some even being blessed with the chance to pass down their genes and parent new families of pups here on the mainland. The Ava Raji's populations soared under the protective wing that is Dr. Flaeymes' preservation center.
It may seem as if the journey is over now. The island itself is ready to be repopulated, all of the flora and fauna having been replenished by the Dr.'s caring staff and troupe of dedicated owners. However, there's more to the story about to unfold as we speak...
The time has come for the Ava Raji to prepare for life on their own once again. Within the year in captivity, the Ava Raji's powers and callstones have grown stagnant, leaving the good Dr. with a diversity problem on her hands... For months now, it seems as if all Ava Raji are increasingly becoming just like every other Ava Raji... Markings and builds are still as diverse as they always were, but repeated skills and stones are becoming an all too often phenomenon.
It's your mission now, should you accept it, to help Dr. Flaeymes and her staff to breed down unique bloodlines and to diversify these beautiful creatures and help adapt. It's time for the Ava Raji to return to the glory and strength they once held, and for them to rise above their disadvantages and learn new skills and abilites so that they may exist on their own, should the need ever arise...
