Complete and utter HORSEPUCKEY! I have been a fan of the Phantom of the Opera ever since I was in elementary school. Believe it or not, I actually had the records from one of the original casts. I went on a school trip to see the performance in Toronto.

Mind you, I do adore the movie for the simple fact that it adds sensuality that you can't get through stage performances to everything...not to mention the fact that Gerrard Butler is a secksy beast...but, that's beside the point.

The point is that the Phantom of the Opera was an AMAZING musical that was turned into a wonderful movie.
