Yume looked down in horror at her new wand. She needed an Item of Blessing! How could she have forgotten!
Looking around the town, she spotted a mystic shop across the street, she ran for the door. She looked around cautiously. The place was old, but well kept, only the strategically placed cobweb for effect, and the smell of the roaring fireplace at the back. The shelves were packed with every imagined spell book, charm, ingredient, and even a sectioned off area of farmiliars near the warmth of the fireplace.
"Wow, it's like some magical Wal-mart..." she commented bluntly.
"Please, family owned and run for the past 23 generation, and We don't go expanding into unwanted cities, we just cram it all up in the building here." Chuckled an old voice behind the counter. Yume looked over, surprised she hadn't noticed the old man before.
"Oh don't worry, a lot of people don't notice me." He winked. Yume stumbled back a bit, and asked,
"Uh, yes, well, I need some help, I've just receive this wand, Rowan and Alder." She said proudly, she already was quite fond of it, "But I've forgotten that I need to bless it with an item, could you help me at all?"
"Ah, a very nice wand you've got there, it's a complement on its own." He continued as she looked at him funnily. "You see, Rowan is symbolic of wisdom, and Alder of air, and air is the element of wisdom."
"Oh, wow, really? I knew it was different, I felt very drawn to it." she replied quickly.
"Well I think I have just the thing, Follow me to the back here, that's where enchantment quality items are." He turned to walk to the back rooms, and Yume hurried behind.
Upon entering, she had to stop a moment. "Is... is everything Glowing?"
She stuttered.
"Ah, so you do have some gift, even if you're a bit short on knowledge."
"She blushed as he continued. "Well this part is up to you, the wand is yours and only you can pick out the right piece." She blinked a bit to dim the glare, but then walked around to see everything. There were vials of liquid, vases of powder, an entire shelf of jewelry, unique looking books, and other odd things she couldn't even identify, but her eyes lite upon one object.
It shined a bright silver, but looked off somehow, she picked it up and examined it. Upon its surface there was a relief of an eagle hawk, soaring in midflight. One eye was visible, and it had a gleam separate from the rest of the strangle metal.
"Ah, the platinum eagle pendant, very appropriate did you notice the eye?"
"Yes, what is it?"
"Citrine, yellow for intellect. The platinum, or "little silver," represents specialized knowledge, and the eagle in flight a direct reference to air, but it will need direction to be potent, you have to choose what it will work for."
"Ah, that's easy, I want to be a master of disguise, knowledge of Transmographacation, changing appearance and mimicking animal!" Even as she spoke the item warmed a bit, and then cooled down. "Oh, wow."
"Hehe, well it's ready, but shouldn't you hurry off now to get that blessed, I believe you are the slightest bit late? "
"Oh no! You're right!" Yume ran out the door and towards the square for the blessing ceremony.
