In the deep woods live the Fairies, Pixies & other magical creatures. There are lots of fairies and they all have rather a sweet tooth, but one in particular called Mavis was all too fond of fairy cakes was rather plump. The Woodland Imps used to laugh & tease her and as a joke, they stole some pixie dust and used it to enchant a birds nest as a gift for her.
She was so excited about the gift that she forgot that the Imps were mean to her and carefully carried the nest around everywhere.
When the eggs hatched, inside were tiny multi-coloured Hippos! The Imps rolled around on the floor laughing, but Mavis loved the tiny creatures and used some of her own fairy dust to give them wings.
Your Fairy Hippo has 4 life stages as shown above and will take a couple of weeks to reach the final stage where it becomes breedable. The Hippo pictured is female - males have slightly longer wings & stars on their tails rather than flowers.
