A lone telephone booth - very red and looking as if it's seen better years - sits out in the middle of the street in London, England. You wonder, faintly, how you got here (surely you were in Gaia, last time you checked?) but then briefly remember a blinding white light....

There's only a few people on the street. One of them, you notice, is in the phone booth. You duck behind a garbage can just in time to spot the middle-aged man, who looks rather grumpy. He's mumbling to himself. "Why I have to use this entrance...undignified...how do you use this thing, anyways?" He ends up putting the phone the wrong way up, and speaks into the hearing end, pushing some buttons. You happen to sneak a look at the combination from outside: 6-2-4-4-2.

And then suddenly...the telephone sinks into the ground.

You stare, fascinated, from your vantage point behind the garbage can. As soon as the booth appears again, you sneak a furtive look around, before dashing inside. Hesitantly, you press the same combination of buttons. A woman's voice startles you.

"Welcome to the Ministry of Magic, please state your name and business."

"Er..." You begin, hestitantly, before stating your name and declaring that you are, in fact, a visitor. A chime and a clunk can be heard from below, and you tentatively pick up the name badge that's appeared where the change normally comes out.

"Thank you visitor, please wear the badge on the outside of your robes. All visitors are required to a wand search at the security desk, located at the far end of the Atrium. The Ministry of Magic wishes you a good day!"

And with a sudden jolt and some creaking sounds, the telephone booth starts to move down....

- Do not copy, edit, or otherwise steal any of the artwork.
- Do not beg me for a student or pet. Do not beg or hint at winterfalcon for a pet. There is also no waiting list, so do not ask to be on one. There is also no mailing list. Please keep up-to-date with the thread!
- Be courteous in the thread and through PMs. This goes without saying, no matter how angry you are at someone.
- Roleplaying is encouraged, but not required. However, if you do not roleplay your student or pets, they will be slower to grow and you will not be able to custom design the students as they grow, their outfits, nor get any special discounts or customs for pets OR items. You will also not be able to start a family when your student grows up or breed pets.
arrow Journals are for students and their new guardians. They may add special roleplays they've done with other students. Journals are not for any of the pets.
arrow All special roleplays or private roleplays will be done in separate threads in the guild. This includes classes.
arrow Any other roleplays (between pets or students out of classes) will be done in the thread.
- Do not god-mod, twink, etc. This will not be tolerated. You cannot play as someone else's character unless you are given permission from his or her owner.
- Owners may not sell their students OR pets, or the offspring of their students or pets. They may give them away, however. Please PM me with details if you'd like to give your students or pet(s) away to someone else. In the event that you don't have anyone to give them to, you may give them back to the shop, and one of our owners will find a new home for them. No refunds.
- I will not PM you for a growth or for tagging, etc. Please do not expect me to do so. Instead, try to stay up-to-date with the thread. The owner's list will always be updated.
- Co-owning is not allowed with students. You may co-own pets.
- Mr. Borgin is greedy, and that is not going to change. If you want low-priced pets, go to the Magical Menagerie!
- The stores restock themselves randomly. It's a first come, first serve basis for the pets and items. I will not announce a restock! Occasionally the store owners will put up a notice in their window as to when they'll get new items or pets in, so be sure to keep on the lookout for them.
- I do not take guest colorists. Please do not ask.
- There's a limit of one student per household. You can have unlimited pets.

- If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me (dustfeather) or post it in the thread, if I happen to be around.
- Rules are subject to change at any time.

In the Great Hall, which is now deserted - not surprising, as term has not begun yet - Dumbledore seats himself on one of the benches, watching you glance about curiously before sitting down opposite of him.

"Hogwarts has four main houses," he explains easily. "They are Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. There are ten students per year in each of the houses that are admitted here, mostly from Britain, but occasionally we'll get some foreign exchange students, too. The Sorting Hat sorts them. The students compete each year for the House Cup. Points can be gained - and taken away - by teachers and house prefects, which are chosen from the fifth years and up, one boy and one girl from each house and year -- fifth, six, and seventh years. Over the entire school, one boy and one girl are chosen to be Head Boy and Head Girl. They help keep things in order," He adds, with a little twinkle in his eye that makes you wonder how much trouble these kids really are. He departs to let you wander around for a bit, and you poke your nose into the entrance hallway, where the huge hourglasses sit for each house.

There seems to be a little bit about each house at the bottom of each hourglass, so you move closer, intrigued.
