The Sock Charity

One night, as a I sat in my room going through the charity forum, I came to a realization. I wanted to be a charity owner. I want to give back to a community that I love, to people who are trying to make themselves pretty.

But I didn't want to give away gold. Everyone gives out gold. I wanted to give out something special, something different. Something AWESOME. So I looked around and saw that a lot of people wear one item. And that item is SOCKS. SOcks! Geez! How could anyone live without Socks. They're vital to everything we hold dear. They keep out feet from chafing, and then keep our toes warm. The humble sock is a wonderfun invention indeed. So why not honour it with it's own charity. And so that is what I am doing.

My goal is to give socks to needy and unneedy Gaians alike. Ask, and follow my rules, and ye shall recieve. I hope to build a mighty nice charity out of giving out socks. Welcome to my dream!

I will, however, admit that I am having trouble with my dream.

I seek the help of a few dedicated people to aid. I don't want to let this die. I WILL NOT LET THIS DIE!

So come one, come all, I'm accepting applications. I shall resurrect the Sock chairty, using a mule, and allow more than myself to work on it!

This, dear friends, is where YOU get in on the action. This is the part that outlines how you can get yourself in on my hot hot charity action!

I'm not going to be too picky. I promise. But I am going to be demanding.

First rule.
NO PM'S(Unless you're appling to work for the charity)
I hate being pm'ed by random people begging. If you've come to my charity, you're obviously in need, but you know what, everyone is. There is nothing you can say in a pm you can't say in the thread. I don't care if you're mother is dying and needs you to have a pair of fishnet stockings. Pm'ing me puts you on the blacklist. So don't DO IT.

I am not a hugely rich person. The minis I wear are not mine. I'm not able to dish out tons of money. So therefore there are a few restrictions.

Don't bump! Dance instead. Bumping is BORING

1. One pair of socks per person. If you request some socks, recieve them, and don't like them, then you can return them to me and I'll give you what you want within one week. But after that, you're on your own.

2. I don't do the expensive socks, or more importantly stockings. Sorry girls. No fishnets, striped or those brightly coloured socks. You cannot request them. CANNOT. But, if you're nice and hang out here, I might hand out a pair of those everyonce in a while. I will hand out any pair of socks costing less than 250 gold without issue.

3. Don't like socks? Want gold? Go screw off. This charity is for socks ONLY. if you must, you can sell the socks, but I do not encourage that. Treasure your socks, please.

4. Feed my FRICKING angel. the damned thing is always starving.

5. Theres a hidden rule. It's not that hidden. You just have to read the whole set of posts and you'll see it. It just shows me you read all these rules. Reading is your friend

In order to apply, all you need to do is post in the thread using this little sheet:

Name: (Insert your name)
What you want: (Which type of socks. Those who don't care get first dibs)
Why you want it: (invent something)
What you will do for me: (I don't need Anything. This is just for fun. You could make me art, or banners, or just be my friend and keep me company in here. Just be inventive!)(Art is loved and adored)

Then, just wait. And don't expect to just get your socks. You must hang out here. I like giving away socks, but not to those who post and run. STay, talk a while, enjoy the charitable mood in here. I expect a post every few days until you get your socks. That may not take that long, but sometimes my funds run low.

As well, when I send you the trade, you mayrespond with 'Dru rocks my Socks'. If you do, you get to be on my 'Sock Rocking List'

Okay

So this is your chance to make a donation and get something in exchange.

Here we have a raffle for a lovely August 2004 letter. It's pretty, it's shiney and it has cool stuff inside.

There are 30 spots and each spot costs either 250 gold, or a pair of socks. The socks that are accepptable are any of the stockings, white mid socks, or any of the class socks. No mens long or short socks. I need the girls ones a LOT more. All proceeds from this go to the charity. No refunds unless I close this down the charity(Pffffft. Not likely)

All righty then. This is my little corner of Gaia.

I've been on Gaia since March. I'm a pretty happy person. I've gotten almost everything I want, and the rest are all just commons. I've got my AFK hat, my Mini Wings(a semi-permanent Loan from a dear rl friend).

I used to help run Discount Barton and Gambino along with my dear friends ~mad artist~ [ff jideiku], affectionatly called Maddie, and concreteclover, known as CC. I, on the other hand, used to be Drusillia_Rhys, and am now just plain Drusillia, or as I wish I was really, I'm Dru.

heres the hidden rule for your application. If you want socks, start your post with 'Hi Dru' and the do the application.

I am a twenty year old Student at the University of Toronto. I'm a pretty normal person with a STUPID name that I won't say here cause it pretty much would make every stalker on Gaia able to find me. Damn Hippie Parents.

I am taken boys and girls, sorry. I'm dating teh Silsor and have been for two years. He's my sweetie. My bestest friend in the world is also on Gaia. She's MajorKami, and the unofficial bouncer for this thread. Well...I hope so. I haven't ASKED her yet.
