I guess I should start it.

I know that fra-foa is sorta indie, with the fact that they aren't under a major record label, though last I heard they aren't under contract anymore. They are very raw and edgy. Chisako at main vocals has a unique command to her voice, but does at time seems to be more yelling in angst than singing with conviction. But that's what I like about them, their rawness is refreshing, in that they are sorta like an American garage punk band Japanese style.

They don't get much pub, but then again it could be because they haven't gone out of the way to embrace the spotlight they could command if they wanted it. Also I know Chisako got married and had a baby 2 years ago thats why fra foa hasn't done anything major lately.

If anyonw has info, please share it =)
I've only heard "Light of Sorrow". Pretty good.
I want to have sex with Mikami Chisako's voice.

Her, too.
i like fra-foa. i haven't listened to them in a while though. she has a great voice. 3nodding
fra-foa is the coolest!

I love chuu no fuchi album. Didn't like 13 leaves that much... neutral

I think 13 Leaves went slightly away from the edgy hard rock that was in chuu no fuchi. But chuu no fuchi was at time very raw, and just was too much to bare times. Even though I too loved chuu no fuchi, favorite song of the album was sumiwataru sora, sono mukou ni boku ga mita mono, I just thought that Chisako was trying so hard to sing at a high tone that it was almost yelling in sheer angst.

With 13 Leaves you still had the rawness in a way, but Chisako used her talents more and more. Case in point was Sorrow of Light and Lily. Yes it was a big turn down of character from chuu no fuchi, but 13 Leaves show just how good they could really be.
It is Nicky.

the whole chuu no fuchi album was very good, I recommend buying the CD if you can find someone that actually sells it. Its extremely rare to find fra-foa even on the net sadly. If you can d/l a few songs I suggest Lily, Blind Star, and dasanai tegami
I love 'Light Of Sorrow'. I've only heard that and 'Tsumetai Asa', but those were the deciding songs that got me liking them. Chisako's voice is so beautiful... -Sigh- Just wish they were recognised more within the JPop-Rock realm.

yeah me too, the problem is that they were with a small time record label. So they never got the pub that normal bands get in Japan.
just a small bump. Add some content to the first post 3nodding
I've only heard Light of Sorrow, which was great; I'd like to listen to their other works. And aren't they with the Toy Factory label or something like that? Or did they switch to another label?

from what I have heard they left Toy Factory after Chisako took time off to get married and have a baby. I think that was in 2002 and since then they have been independent since then

Oooh... good to know. I can't wait until they become active again. Chisako is often compared to Cocco a lot because the emotion she expresses, I wonder what she thinks of her. Do you know of any interviews?

I can see the comparsions very well too =)

as for interviews, Chisako pretty much keeps to herself, I haven't seen anything on her at all. But rest assured, if I see anything or hear anything it will be posted here.

Cocco is another singer I like speaking of her. Too bad that she suffered from an emotional breakdown and left because she didn't want the glits of stardome =/
