i really liked all the trouble that Jess' new "Gift" gets her into! my fav. is #4

more to come!!!!
Sounds interesting ... I might actually read it *Grins* Word of advice - tell us whether it's fiction, non-fiction, fantasy. It makes it easier for those who read the reviews to tell what sort of thing it's about. Also, maybe put in a rating out of ten, so we know what you think of it.

SECOND REVIEW!!!

Guitar Girl
by Sara Manning
Age Group
13+
Because of sexuality and adult situations
Genre
Teen

review by Middy

Music, forbidden love, deception. What more could you ask for in a book? Guitar Girl is about a girl named Molly, who forms a band with her friends. It was all for fun, but when they meet a boy who offers help, their band goes Platinum! But can they trust their manager? Each other? Is Molly getting too compfortable with the lead guitarist? This great story about deception, love and the love of the music is just the beginning for Molly... or is it?

Rating
7/10

My Opinion
i really like all the Music. plus the lead Guitarist sounds HOTT.

ENJOY!!!!
tell me what you think.

PLEASE REPLY

Interesting thread. I do have a suggestion: editing the first post so that it has a list of all the books reviewed, who did the review, and the author of the book. I hope it is okay if I submit a review.

IDLEWILD
by Nick Sagan

NOTE: This is Sagan's first novel, and one of the best I have ever read. I cannot say that much about the book, because it might give away the end. It is one of those books where once you think you know everything, you know nothing. I would advise not reading this book if you are under thirteen.

AGE GROUP: 15+ for language and some sensuality. I do not think anyone under thirteen, would understand the book.

GENRE: Science-Fiction, Physcological Thriller (in some aspects)

SUMMARY: An eighteen year old boy awakens in the middle of a field, unable to move. He does not have a memory of anything, exept that someone is trying to kill him, and he is trying to kill someone. He later finds that he is in an expense boarding school with nine other students, where computer programs, "Nannies" can grant any desire, by forming an illusion. As he gains his memories back, he digs deeper into the dark secrets of this so called school, and that nothing is what it seems.

RATING: 9.5/10

ACCELERATION
by Graham McNamee

AGE GROUP: 12 +

GENRE: Thriller, mystery

SUMMARY: Duncan is seventeen years old and is still haunted by the fact he could not save a drowning girl only feet away last year. Now, he is working admist the boringness in the lost-and-found of a subway station. One day, he comes across the morbid diary of a future serial killer. It has the notes and newspaper clippings of stories of deadly fires and brutally murdered animals in which this unknown person has instigated. As Duncan reads into the end of the book, he discovers notes and information on the killer's next victims- three ladies.

After attempting to turn the diary into the police, who think it is a prank, Duncan realizes it is up to him to track the killer down before the swan sings- three times.

RATING: 7/10

Wild Magic
The Immortal Series
By Tamora Pierce
Age Group
12+ (Great series for all ages but does have violence and some sexuality)
Genre: Fiction, Fantasy

Daine has always had a way with animals but know this odd man comes along and teaches her about Wild Magic. Is it possible Daine has this? Now Daine is in Tortall helping out with trainees for the Lioness Riders when something happens. Immortals have been released from the barrier and are causing trouble.

Rating
9/10

If you enjoyed this book continue to read the Immortal Series and other books by Tamora Pierce (to see more information on Tamora Pierce please visit one of the many threads about her in the Book forum.)

(sorry if the summary wasn't good but if you enjoy fantasy you will love this author!)

Waifs and Strays
by Charles de Lint

AGE GROUP: 12 +

GENRE: Fantasy and Science Fiction Anthology

SUMMARY: Famous fantasy writer Charles de Lint of Canada has written his first anthology for young adults; Waifs and Strays, an anthology composed of fifteen of his works. Anthologies include stories on a modern day sixteen year old vampire, futuristic urban poor, racisim, sacrifices, hybrid racism, and so much more. At a glance, his stories seem to be rich in fantasy and science fiction, but if one digs deeper, on can relate the moods and tones to the real world.

RATING: 8.5/10
