Gogo cannot use Female-only Weapons
(May not be an exact quote)
That is what started the cogs turning in my head to once and for all, debunk Gogo.

Gogo is found in the "X-Zone" we'll call it. Here, you travel through an almost 'maze'-like cavern. (but not really xp ) and you end up at this altar at which Gogo stands.

To first debunk some existing theories.
OHCRAP! GOGO IS DARYL! Gogo cannot be Daryl. Daryl's body is in her tomb.
Siegfried(managed to hone his skills, but didn't want anybody to know who he really was until necessary). Seigfried is the the WoR colluseum.
Gogo is Geshtal: He was thrown over the side of the Floating Continent, and it's possible he could have landed and got eaten by Zone Eater. Now. If you were Gesthal, and you had been able to recover yourself once arriving in Zone Eater...Would you use Mimic? Or would you use Merton, Flare, etc and bust some a** and get out of the cave?

Now, for my finishing touches (Most information in the below paragraph was gathered from various other forums on the internet, and pieced together for this express purpose):::: The Bolded part ends all theories.

Gogo was actually in FFV. Not as a playable character, of course, but an optional boss in the third world. When you "beat" it, it gives you the final crystal shard with the final job: the mimic. Gogo didn't look the same in FFV (http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/snes/ff5/enemies/gogo.gif), but that was Gogo nonetheless. You had to beat it in a trick battle, where the way to win was to do absolutely nothing during the battle (similar to the Dark Knight battle in FFIV, only this time Gogo won't attack you either, as long as you don't attack it). So, because Gogo was also in FFV, it's safe to say that it's actually not a person but rather just a mimic. That's it. If in any upcoming Final Fantasy game Square wants to make a mimic system of some kind, they'll get Gogo involved in some way.

And that's it. The mystery as to WHO Gogo is has been solved. He is just a mimic, an extra character. It could be said that if FF was on a timeline, Gogo would be timeless, and immortal aswell. Since he made his first appearence in FFV, I'd have to say his appearence in FFVI was to make all the people who did play FFV first go "OMFGSHITS IT'S GOGO!!" and rejoice at a familiar site, aside from Chocobos. Just someone to 'Multiclass' your abilities.
::applause:: Oi never knew that! Very astounding deduction, I never payed enough attention to Gogo to ever come up with anything like that. Darn Mimic, I like my characters to have personality.
She is half right. he is an mimic but he still an character dont forget that the Gf in FF8 where once fiends If u play ff1 and 2 u will beable to see squalls lighting GF
Why do people have to debate the genders of the characters?
Because half of them are too stupid to know which is which.
OMG! Tifa's a man!

Zidane's a woman!
Anyway, I shouldn't derail the thread any more now. Nice debunk, AK.

But honestly, Lulu's GOTTA be a man.
To add to this, if Gogo were a girl, if would break the "FF rule of Three". That is, there are always three female party members only starting with FFIV and up. I can prove that.
FFIV- Rosa, Rydia, Palam
FFV- Faris, Reina, Krile
FFVI- Terra, Celes, Relm
FFVII- Aeirs, Tifa, Yuffie
FFVIII- Rinoa, Sellfie, Quistis
FFIX- Dagger, Eiko, Freya
FFX- Yuna, Lulu, Rikku
FFX-2- Yuna, Rikku, Paine
See, it would break that rule.

This rule of 3 has never been a rule.
FF1: No one (0) or White Mage (0-4)
FF2: What's-Her-Name (1)
FF3: No one (0)
FF4: Rosa, Rydia, Porom (3)
FF5: Faris, Krile, Reina (3)
FF6: Terra, Celes, Relm (3)
FFMQ: Phoebe, Kaeli (2)
FF7: Tifa, Aeris, Yuffie (3)
FF8: Rinoa, Quistis, Selphie, Edea (4)
FF9: Dagger, Eiko, Freya, Beatrix (4)
FF10: Yuna, Lulu, Rikku (3)
FF10-2: Yuna, Rikku, Paine (3)
FFT: Alma, Agrias, Meliadoul, Rafa, Reis, Ovelia (6, 7 if you count Teta)
FFTA: Shara, Ritz (2)
FFTSW: Aki, What's-Her-Name (2)

FF has never been limited to 3 playable females per game. Your argument is false.

Now, to Gogo. Why the DEVIL would Gogo equip female equipment? That would TELL the player that Gogo is female. It would be ludicrous for the designers to put that in. Keeping female equipment off of Gogo is perpetuating the possibility that it could be male, female, or neither. Why do people CARE? Just accept that there is no true evidence at ALL that Gogo is either one, that the only real evidence points to it never being known or that Gogo doesn't have a gender, and go argue about some FF stuff that actually holds some interest to it.

Thanks for pointing that out Ess, I forgot that for a short time Edea and Beatrix were playab;e characters in their respective games.

This thread is not just about the gender, it's about theories on WHO Gogo could be, this thread eliminates popular possibilities, and leaves us with the answer that everyone should just realize, GOGO IS A SPECIAL CHARACTER with no descernable gender, and is NOT a character in the game. He was placed by Square to have the mimic class, and they decided hey, let's have another mimic class in FFVI.

I agree with that. It's just like Umaro (I think I spelt that right) he was just a special character with no gender, or weapons.

Exactly. He was there to provide some interesting abilities to the party, and, to make it so that when you go into Kefka's tower, your parties are divided more evenly.

I'm sorry. I must have been confused by the thread's title, which you made, and your first post, in which you made it clear you had solved Gogo's identity and in which the only matter of debate seemed to be the possible gender. Next time, I shall look beyond the only logical evidence there is and make a wild guess as to what you want to discuss, since that would have a better result.

Meaning, I decided to go with the whole proving that Gogo is no one in FFVI. But the Male/Female debate created this idea. I probably should have changed the topic, but at the time, that was what I was thinking about writing about, and it snowballed from there into proving who Gogo is. I'm sorry to inconvience and plant an idea into your head, whereby having that idea, you finished reading the first post, disregarding that I made no arguement for or against Gogo being male or female.

EDIT: I read this over, and I sound angry or pissed at your comments. That's not the case, I'm simply pointing out that the idea took a turn in a different direction, a more interesting direction, and thus, I should have changed the topic.
