Once upon a time, in the far off realm of Avalon, there lived a cloud-goddess named Gwynhwfar. Now she wasn't just any plain ole cloud goddess like her friends Macha who was the goddess of athletic games and festivals or even Mm who was the goddess of thought. No, she was much more powerful than all of them
combined. Not only was she the controller of love, growth, and fertility in not only her realm but the one of Earth, she could transform herself into a mortal being at whim, living the life of one with no one ever so suspicious to her true form. She loved to cause mischief bestowing herself into this womb or that to be reborn.
Her most major rebirth over the years happened not too long ago, only a few hundred years, but that time was nothing by her standards. One day, Mm foresaw in the clouds a mighty kingdom. It was built upon magic and was shown to be the greatest kingdom that would ever live; King Arthur's Camelot.
Upon hearing that Gwynhwfar's thoughts ran into overdrive. What better mischief to cause than to ruin the greatest Kingdom and what better way than make it fall from the inside out? She instantly transported herself into the womb of a roman princess whose husband ruled in Britain for it was also foreseen that when that woman has a baby girl, she would be married off to King Arthur. She was talked about being able to become the greatest beauty in the entire world, and that she did.
Like what happened every time she was reborn, she had no memories of herself. Clues and the like usually didn't come out till around childhood. She hated re-learning everything, but soon enough she always did and this time would be just the same.
By the time she was in her late teens she had remembered her mission and worked on her looks and charm for the future years. As she awaited the age that was already predetermined when she would marry Arthur she fought off the line of men that would try to tempt her to go with them everyday. It was hard but she knew what she was there to do and thought about all the Knights of the Round Table along with Arthur that she would soon have.
After a long and almost grueling to her courtship period she wed Arthur, who by the end of it all was now King, making her Queen Guinevere, a title she knew she would always treasure. Within the following year she stood by his side at everything but the battles themselves, a Queen was very dainty after all and couldn't fight, but for everything else, she was in the spotlight with him. Everyday and every night she would talk to the other nights of the round table, slowly yet surely implanting little seeds of deceit and unfaithfulness to the King in the heads, especially Sir Lancelot. Ever since she became queen she recognized him most out of all the other nights for his dashing good looks and charm that could wow any woman, not just a Queen. She began talking to him the most, making him her right her man in the plot to take down the King. She promised him the crown, but little did he know, she had no plans of doing that whatsoever. Within no time, she had all the knights, not just Sir Lancelot, wrapped around her little finger and ready to make the falling of King Arthur happen.
One faithful night, almost two years after their marriage was when it all happened. After much planning that entire week they knew exactly what was going to happen. In the middle of the night Guinevere stepped out of their bedchambers. As soon as she was seen outside the doors the knights moved in, rousing Arthur from his sleep and carrying him out of the castle, off the grounds, and went to take him out of the country entirely.
As Guinevere laughed in sheer delight at how well her plan worked to get him out of the way she suddenly started to flow. She began to look around wondering what was possibly happening to her she spotted Merlin, the magician who brought Arthur into power, and who seemed to making sure he would stay in power. As soon as her eyes focused in on him, she tried to get closer to him, working with all of her might to resist all of the magic that was being thrown at her with her own, the first time she had ever tapped into the powers that she had in the clouds since her last deed of mischief. When the two powers combined, swirling in a spiral of light and power, they snapped, sending a backlash back against both of them. Guinevere, not having practiced in far too long took the brunt of the spells. She got lifted off the ground and sucked into a vortex, screaming as she did for she knew she was getting taken someplace different, but how different she might never know.
As her body twisted and shot through the vortex she felt a weird strength coarse through her veins; power pulsating in every part of her being. As she looked over herself, her wardrobe started to change from the gowns of nobility she was wearing to a large cape and armor. While all of this was happening, her body was changing too. Her skin started to almost bubble as tattoos were magically 'drawn' all over her body; an intricate pattern that shone like steel and she instantly knew it was armor as well.
As the tattoos swirled down her body the face of Mm showed itself in the vortex. "Gwynhwfar," She spoke, causing her eyes to focus on her and her ears to be alert. "Your battle with Merlin has disturbed the order of things not only for you down there but up here as well. Nothing is the same and I fear it might never be. This vortex you are in is giving you a mission with the changing of your demeanor. As I look into the clouds I see now you are meant to cause no more mischief but do one more deed as a mortal before everything can turn right as rain again. You must battle the evil." She replied causing Guinevere to question here.
"What is the evil Mm?" She asked, having doubt in the back of her mind about everything being all right again. Mm gulped as she looked at Guinevere and spoke in an almost riddle.
"I do not know. However I do know that once you see it, you will know. Once you win, the natural order of things will be back in place." She finished with a nod, her image starting to flicker in and out.
"What if I do not win?" She questioned, trying to grasp at the image of Mm before it vanished, never leaving her with an answer. Within seconds the speed of the vortex swirled at the speed of light. As Guinevere closed her eyes she felt an odd feeling rush through her body before she was jolted to the ground with a large "Waaaaaaaaaaah!" Coming from her chest as the memories drifted away again as they always had.
