Welcome to Gaia! ::

It has now been three months since the horrific events in dycropolis. Within this time, the party that once was going to be the worlds salvation has broken, falling apart piece by piece, untill but one was left. Lian, never truly believeing that Alius had died, Left Leon after he had recovered from his injuries, putting everything on hold to search for his comerade.

Faith, after seeing what had happened in the past, and what was to come in the future, said her farwells to Damien and departed, fearful that her strength would not suffice for what would be needed in the future.

Alius, fought a doomed battle against his own blood, Kain. He fought with all he had, but in the end it was all in vain, as he was slain by his own blade, cast from the cliffs of Dycropolis, never to finish his quest.

This left but one gallant warrior, Damien. Not knowing the events that took place in Dycropolis, he arrives, in search of his former group.

Though, the world has not been put on hold. Kain continues his quest to collect the stones, now three are in his posession, Alis' stone still being searched for. This leaves but three stones, Zeal's time is running out....can but one being stand against such hardship that lies before him? Or will there be more, who are ready to take up the fight, and join him in his dwindling quest? Or is the world trully doomed as in the prophecy?
Leon makes his way across the long plane seperating dycropolis from rivendale. For many weeks he has been wandering, the plain so large that he has lost his way, his food supply running low, and his hopes even lower. Evil fiend like monsters are becoming more and more common, and the slaying of the mosters paired with the hopless struggle of his journey cause his hope to diminish.

The day is cloudy and grim, rain most likely to take effect soon, Leon searches for a place to rest. Looking left and right, he can see nothing but barren plane, and knows that the only chance he has of resting is if he were to find rivendale. He continues to walk, the rain begining to pour for many hours before seeing dark, thick smoke within the sky rising from the horizon. That hasto be...the smoke of a chimney Quickly picking up his pace, Leon makes his way to the town, hopefull that he will be able to find a place of rest.
Damien quickly rode up to the town of Drycopolis, swiftly and silently he rode his sleek black horse until he reached the town entrance. Damien dismounted his horse and took his gear from the side of the saddle. daien stroked te horse gently then walked up to its ear and wispered "you go, i will call you if i need any help"
the horse then rode off in the opposite direction of the town. damien strapped his gear onto his back and procceded to the towns entrance, stood infront of the entrance was a guard welcoming travellers into the town. Damien aproached the guard and rolled his eyes as he continued to walk into the town
"Excuse me sir, im going to need all your wepons please" the guard said to Damien when he noticed his two swords.
"and wh is that?" Damien aksed the guard, Damien stopped and turned to face him
"well...erm you see sir..this is a peacefull town and we don want any..erm volence, but you will recieve your things as soon as you exit" the guard replied intimidated by Damiens appearnce. Damien took off his gear and placed them in the hands of the guard " i will be leaving shortly, so have them ready and waiting for me" Damien said as he to walk into the town.
Leon Reached the town, somewhat disheartened to find that it was nothing but wooden huts. "Ah well....a beds a bed all the same...." Leon walked the muddy streets of the town, the villagers staring at him as he passed. Leon quickly noticed this, and began to feel uneasy. They look at me as if im a monster...

Leon found a villager working near their house, and approached, "Hello...would you happen to have a bed for me to rest in? im quite weary from travel and-" Before Leon could even finish his sentance, the villager leapt from his place, turning to look at Leon, then cowered in utter fear, "Please! Please dont hurt me! Ive done nothing wrong!" Leon became even more confused now, slowly backing away from the man, he looked for something that might indicate that there was a leader of the place.

He continued on for a few more grueling minutes before finding what he was looking for, the place where the smoke had come from was in fact a very large, almost mansion like place. It was large with many windows, and it seemed quite old. As he approached the entrance, a merchant addressed him, "Hello there sonny....you seem like you've been doing alot of travelling....would you like to look at some of my wares?" Leon turned to the man and asked "Would you happen to have food?" The man turned to reyurn to his large wooden cart, and replied "Oh yes, i have much of that...." Leon, feeling somewhat uneasy, followed the man to a large wooden cart, paired with a small hut and a cage covered in a blanket.

After collecting more food for his travels and resting for a few hours in the mans hut, Leon became curious as to what was in the cage. The Strange old man mysteriously left without a trace, and Leon couldnt help but take a peek as to what was inside. He quickly and quietly approached the cage, which looked more like a suspended jail cell. He slowly lifted the blanket cover, and to his surprise, he saw a person in the cage. "Hey...Hey you!" he whispered. "What are you doing in there?" Leon quickly scanned the area to make sure that the old man didnt see what he was doing....
- She had been sitting for a long time, kneeling, infact, her own thoughts brewing softly in the background of her mind. Her eyes bloodshot by now stared blindly across into the darkness, and only a thin sliver of light near the floor brought to her the sense that she still existed. Her grip on the world had begun to slip, and in the dim light all the colours were turned to a gray scale. She couldn't see herself, but if she could she knew her skin would be sickly pale, her eyes flimed over, her deep chestnut hair dulled and dusty. Her bones had quit protesting weeks ago, and now layed in a state of atrophy, her legs neatly tucked underneath her as she sat back on her heels, knees grated against the hard floor of the cage. Her shoulders were thrown back, chest out slightly, hands limp and fingers slightly curled placed in her lap. Tumbles of soft curls cascaded around her neck, shoulders, back, creating dark shadows around her neck and face.

Her eyelids grated across her dry and dusty eyes as she blinked, and she barely registered the soft brush of eyelash against her skin. The metal had warmed by now, but still abnormal against her flesh. The thick steel collar around her neck dug in, and had rubbed her flesh raw by now, a soft wet glow of blood surrounding it, and a darker dried shadow around that. The link of the chain clinked lightly as it fell over her shoulder and reached to the bars behind her, securely tied off.
Securely captured She shivered slightly, and her emptyness returned shaking the unearthly feeling off. Somewhere in her mind, she knew it had begun playing its games with her. But by now she didn't care, she enjoyed having someone to talk to, though she wasn't sure she even talked. Her lips were filmed shut, dry and cracking, a nasty split down the center of it.

Her brain had begun to tune out the sounds of the outside world. It was not her world, her world was in this cage now. All four small walls that she couldn't see, but she knew the shadow was her wall anyway.
Her breath clogged in her throat, a gentle gurgling sound as the air caught the phlegm located just behind her dry sticky tongue. The sound somehow calmed her. A light breeze turned a curl against her cheek, and softly rustled the material of her deep crimson gown, piled elegantly around her legs and up to the soft flare of her hips and slip waist. It created shadows around her breasts, and cupped them gently, leaving a long reach of pale untouched skin, except for a deep bruise on her left shoulder, spreading across to her collarbone to be lost underneath the crusted blood. The smell of it had become quite bad, but that didn't matter, she really couldn't smell it if she tried.

Softly suffocating in the churning shadows of her mind, the light burned its way through to her, slowly dragging her from the deep wells of her mind back to reality where the light drifted in, searing her dark attuned eyes in pain, and though a scream bubbled up in her throat, and her gut tightened in that way, she sat unmoving. Unbelieving, perhaps. -
Leon gazed at the person, somewhat shocked, yet from all that he had seen and been through, he had become quite unnerved. "Hey Im talking to you! what are you doing in this cage?" Suddenly, the crack of a branch sounded close by, and instinctively, Leon dissapeared into a shadow the cage cast upon the hut it rested beside, waiting apprehensively to see who the passerby was. He waited, for what seemed like forever, but no sound came, no footsteps. The rain ran down his face, causing him to constantly haveto rub his eyes.

After a few moments, Leon slowly rose, and after carefully checking his surroundings, he returned to the cage lifting the covering once again, this time, the smell of rotten blood hit him. He cringed, then looked again insinde the cage, quietly calling to the person within. "Can you talk? Whats your name?" He spoke again. Leon examined the cage for a lock, but found none. Odd.....she cant just be choosing to stay in this thing.... he thought to himself confused. Leon Grabbed the steel like alloy bars of the cage, immediately screaming in pain as an electric shock seered through his body. His hands clasped tightly to the metal, he fought to pry himself off of the cage, falling to his knees as he did so. Electricity still rinnung through him, he jittered some as he tried to pick himself up. Well, i guess that would be a good reason not to leave....

He then approached the cage again, making sure as to not touch the alloy bars, speakiing between his deep breaths, again making sure he had no eavesdroppers "What are you doing....in an....enchanted cage?"
- She twitched her head as if an unseen person was speaking to her. His words vibrated in the silence she had long knew and pierced her eardrums, making her shake her head slightly in a fight to remove the sound that was echoing in her brain. A fleeting expression of pain flitted over her normally emotionless face, and her limbs twitched very slightly, as if she was trying to move. Which she was, to her it seemed her body had long been carved out of rock, solid and humanless, a tangled hard deformation which no life was preserved in.

Slowly, she tilted forwards and fell onto her elbows, her hair hanging down to brush and tumble along the ground, shading her fallen face. Her hands gripped at the floor of the cage, and she dragged herself across to see him more clearly, legs sliding behind her merely dead weight. A patch of shadow caught her face, and she flinched, the sudden light catching in the dust that floated around her body, creating a sort of halo around her delicate face, the shadows accenting the deep crack between her lips, her thinning skin and deep hair, sending shadows of eyelashes slanted across her cheeks.

She stared bewildered at him, her deep eyes offset by the swirling gray film in them. Her eyes narrowed as she attempted to concentrate on his face, her mudded vision only producing a blank shadow of him, a bright buring background of light as her so long dilated pupils refused to obstruct the light filtering in.

She started slightly as a wet drop of rain hit her cheek, making a track in the dust on her paling skin. For a minute she seemed immobile, but then her lips cracked open and she tilted her head up, a few raindrops catching on her dry lips and tongue, sent waves of relief and unending pleasure coursing through her starved body, and her eyes closed briefly as she savoured this small accomplishment.

His questions reverbrated through her mind, and her throat worked as she tried to speak to him. Her lips opened and closed helplessly, the air whistling eerily through her throat -

In the town of Dycropolis, there was another traveler. She appeared to some of the more snobbish residents of the city to be a primitive, by how she dressed.

She was dressed in a blue-gray robe, made of a soft material, and a shawl with a trailing cape made of sewn together rabbit skins, beaded and adorned with owl feathers. Her platinum blonde hair fell down her back, plaited together with more beads and feathers, caught into a bun at the top of her head, and the rest left to fall heavily down her back. A braided silver belt graced her waist, and rabbit skin boots.

She walked without purpose, staying at inns when necessary, or sleeping under the stars, but caught in a wanderlust that made her hunger to see what was over the horizon. Today she was in Dycropolis, and had left her room at the inn to explore the streets of the city. But now she returned, for a brief break, before she would head out again to continue her exploration.

She couldn't explain it, but she could feel that something of importance had happened here, and things of importance were the reason she had started wandering in the first place. She would stay here until she discovered what it was, and then she would move on, wherever her path would take her.

((was that cheesy? I can never tell....))
((Ha no definately not, that was great, keep up the good work!))

Leon watched as the person draged themself over to the side of the cage he stood at, watchign them try to speak in vain. She must have been in there for a long time.....things arent looking good for her.... He thought to himself as he finanly began to realise the mortality that the girl faced. Leon thought to himself for a moment, then turned away fromt he cage, slowly walking off. "Ill be right back, just hold on..."

He silently made his way around to the front of the old mans house once again, makiking sure he was undetected, then entered, taking the food he had planned to eat that night, then returning to the cage. "Here, im pretty sure you this would be more useful to you than it would be to me right now..." Leon began to reach his arm through the bars, then thought it would be better if he didnt. "Uh....." He paused, wondering how he could transport the had and fruit he had into the cage. He then came up with an idea. He unsheathed the blade on his right hand side, using it to skewer the food, and carefully thread it through the bars. "There you go." He spoke somewhat triumphantly, wiping streams of water from his face.

Damien walked trough the bsy streets of Drycopolis searching for any clues on where his former comrades would be. the first thing would do is stop at the inn, i think i will ask some questions there

Damien wondered the noisey streets trying to find the inn.The sound of all the people was defening, the high pithched sounds of children, the chattering of the adults, it was all so overwhelming. So many diffrent races were around interacting with each other as if they were all the same, i was ll so diffret to what Damien had seen growing up as a child, he was bullied because of his demon herritage, well at least they thought hewas a demon.

Finnaly Damien had found the town inn, it was in the centre of Drycopolis. Damien was asttonished to see the size of it, it was far larger than any in he had seen traveling.Damien walked into the and scanned the area for signs of his friends.

Damien walked up to the main desk and adressed the inn keeper
"im looking for and elf and a human, the human has a rather intresting stone with him, have you seen them?" Damien asked the inn keeper

"well a couple mothns ago there was a freaky looking guy who had a elf with him, that migt be the kid your lookin for"

Kortina returned to the inn to see a young man standing at the front desk. This was nothing unusual, but there was something...

He is a demon. Odd.

She tilted her head to one side, and listened to his request. Not finding anything interesting about it, aside from the mention of the stone, she moved closer to the desk to await her turn.

After the innkeep answered the young man's question, he looked over at her, and said, "Let me guess, miss, you want another night. Again."

"I am becoming predictable, I see. Yes, I would purchase another night. Something interesting will happen soon enough, and then I will stop being a thorn in your side as I follow it."

"Uh... sure, whatever you say. You got the coins?" He was looking at her with the same strange look he always did.

"Of course. Here you are." She smiled faintly, the expression seeming to be only a memory of what it once could have been, and handed over the money for the next night. She turned, and seeing the young man still standing there, she nodded at him with another faint smile, and waited for him to allow her to move past him.
- Eyes him suspiciously for a moment, her hesitant hand reaching for the food on the blade. Her long fingers caress the smooth skin of the pear, sliding along the bottom to cup it in her palm, she delicately pulls it off the blade, leaning forward to lick the juice off the sword it left behind. Carefull around the sharp edges, she pulls back, ending up with only a small nick on her tongue, she swallows the thinning blood, shifting farther back into her cage. She shoots a small disgusted glance at the meat, but when her eyes turn to him they seem somewhat wary but grateful. She blinks slightly, and lowers her head to him, averting her eyes as she turns her face to the side.

The skin of the pear crunches quietly underneath her teeth, and the juice dribbles down her chin. She licks it off with the tip of a pink tongue, as she shivers slightly, placing a hand on her stomach. Slowly she chews, twenty seven bites before she swallows the purified fruit, wincing as it slips down her roughed throat and into her stomach. Unaquainted by the sudden lurch in her stomach, she cries out softly, a whispery groan, and she falls over onto her elbows, grasping her stomach as it tries to digest a food it has no enzymes for. Her stomach lurches again and she attempts to hold onto the food in her stomach, breath wistling hard through her nostrils.

She pauses for many moments, waiting for her stomach to settle, before she takes another bite chewing it longer this time, the same echoing assalt on her throat and stomach. She falls onto her side and pulls her legs up to her with her hands, curling up in the fetal position as she holds her stomach.

Her eyes glisten wetly in the darkness, black gems. She lays whimpering softly, slowly digesting the pear as she watches him. Wondering -
Leon watched her as she ate her food in anguish. Not being one that understood the body and its characteristics, he didnt know what to make of her actions, just continuing to watch and wonder. How long has she been here......why is she here....? He thought about how the people acted towards him earlier. Could these people somehow detect that im of demonic decent? Leon remembered grim memories, memories of a darkened city that he fought for his life in, his comerades long gone, their fight had come close to ending many a time, his life seemed to be taking him from one hardship to another.

"I was hoping that no one would ever find out my damned heritage...." Leon spoke to himself quietly. He then unsheathed his second blade and examined it, from the golden hilt which he held to the pure blade, remembering his darkest hour. After a few moments, a raindrop hitting his nose reminded him of how wet he was from being in the rain for so long. He was beginning to realize how cold and tired he was, still having no idea about what to do with the being in the cage. "Ill be back tomorrow....hold tight till then ok?" He said, watching a moment not expecting a reply, as he hadnt gotten any thus far.

He quickly made his way around the hut and entered, breathing a sigh of relief as he saw that the old man hadnt returned yet. he removed his wet clothing leaving him naked save for a pair of shorts he had underneath all that he wore, and set it by a dwindling fire that the old man must have started some time ago. Reaching a bed that the man had set out for him, he slowly lay down upon it with a large sigh, his wonder easily overtaking his wearyness, he lay there wondering what he would do untill time slowly lulled him to sleep, a few hours later, the sun begins to rise, the storm parted......
((Thank you rimedragona for telling me that this was back, and Alius for gifting me a second chance.))
*A solitary figure dressed in a sturdy hooded cloak approached the gates of Dycropolis. The hood covered their eyes and shoulders, born upon their back was a long sword which showed signs of rather recent use. What little of the figure's chest that was not covered by the cloak, showed dark metal and leather. The belt they wore was thick and the large buckle shone in the sun light, many pockets and small pouches were visible along it's outside. The leather greaves born upon their legs were discolored by stains of mud and of something more of a reddened color. The boots they wore had a metal plate sewn around the toes; there was thick dried mud along the outer sole which showed of much travel. Upon their arms were metal bracers, and the left hand was garbed in a single gauntlet which held the reigns of a horse showing the weariness of travel and the calm of one who had seen much bloodshed. It was laden down with a thick pack and an ornate bow upon one side and a small barrel upon the other. The guards looked to one another before two stepped foreword, all seemed to grip their weapons a bit tighter. One of the two brave enough to step foreword spoke, though his voice seemed more than a bit nervous as something about this one struck a cord in him. This was the second seasoned warrior he had seen today, and neither seemed too friendly.*

Good afternoon good sir, welcome to Dycropolis. Before I can let you enter I'm afraid I must ask you what your business is here in our fine city and for you to disarm yourself before entering.

*The figure didn't stop, though their pace slowed slightly and a definitively male voice spoke in a gruff tone which showed sign of little recent use and continued foreword.*

I'm looking for someone.

*The guards glanced to one another as he walked in between the two guards who had hailed him. The guard on the right placed his hand upon the figure's arm and the figure stopped abruptly, the guard spoke.*

I'm afraid sir you are going to have to disarm, or we can not let you into the city.

*The figure turned his head towards the guard, and his face became visible in the afternoon light. His hair was drawn back away from his face; the sharp ridges of his furrowed brow ran down and met with the lines of his nose and mouth forming a deep scowl. A dark scar ran down along the left side of his face, barely missing his eye, which like its companion was a deep blue, almost purple color. They were the eyes of someone who had seen much and lost much, the eyes of someone with nothing left to lose. Those eyes then turned to the hand upon his arm, and the guard pulled his hand back as though afraid he would lose it. They then turned back to the eyes of the guard as the figure spoke again in the same voice as before, though this time slower.*

Disarm? That would be rather painful don't you think?

*The guard looked at him and blinked as the other guards seemed to become even more nervous. The guard he spoke too smiled briefly, then swallowed hard as the figures look turned back to the scowl of before.*

I mean you will have to relinquish your sword sir, and all of your weapons. This is a peaceful city, and they are not allowed inside.

*The figure looked down at the ground and in a tone icy cold and full of malice he spoke once more as he released the reigns of his horse.*

Peaceful. Things must have changed in the last three months, because the last time I was here I watched my friend, my ally, my Brother of the sword be cut down before my eyes by a denizen of your so called Peaceful city...

*The guards looked to one another then again at the cloaked figure, the guard opened his mouth to speak again and the figure turned and looked him directly in the eyes as he spoke again, his tone steadily growing in volume and diminishing again towards the end. The guard could see then the ears which shone of his elven heritage as well as the emotions in his eyes.*

This sword I bear in his name, and I shall not relinquish it to any until vengeance has been brought upon the b*****d who murdered him. Though any man is welcome to try and take it from me, as many have wanted to do thus far... But know hear this, you have my word, which I shall swear upon my family's graves that this sword shall not be drawn while I am within this walls for any purpose other than to defend myself or those who could not defend themselves.

*The guards looked to one another and back at the one who was still locked with the eyes of the man, his foot slid back a bit as he looked into the eyes of the figure. He then slid his gaze from the elf's eyes to his mouth and spoke again.*

I'm sorry sir, but rules are rules and...

*The elf then reached behind him, placing his right hand upon the hilt of his sword and spoke again looking around at all the guards, a small crowd was converging upon the gate to see what the yelling and the commotion was about.*

Then I suppose you will just have to try and take it from me, because nothing will prevent me from finding the murderous dog who dwelt and spilled innocent blood within your cities walls...
