You have somehow gotten to the pet store and adoption center section of Barton Town, and are looking around at all the bright signs and colorful pets. Somehow, your eye is caught by a smaller brownstone building with a wooden sign hanging out in front that said in fancy lettering The Anime Cosplay Children Adoption Center. Deciding that since you have nothing better to be doing, you push open the old oak door and enter. The interior is clean and cheery, despite the ramshackle appearance of the outside of the building. You are greeted by a young woman with messy blue-black hair, slitted yellow eyes, and... fox ears?! She smiles and begins to speak.
"Welcome to the ACCAC! I'm Korini, call me Ko if that's too long. Here you can adopt a child straight from another reality, but you have to prove you're someone who can do it. Oh, read this to figure out how it started." She hands you a piece of paper covered in small, neat, and dense writing, and you begin reading.
Our Story
It began on a clear night, one of a new moon and the perfect time to see the stars unhindered. Watching said constellations was myself, Korini, the kitsune. Lying on my back on the roof of my apartment building, I watched one particularly bright falling star streak across the sky, only to hear a voice.
"Is it comforting, to watch the stars and know that somewhere, someone is doing the same?" The voice was cracked and reedy, from the throat of an old woman who had appeared behind me, her figure wrapped in a deep purplish-blue cloak, which seemed to be cut from the sky above us itself. Sitting up and turning around, I was not very gracious at first, I am sorry to say.
"Lady, this is private property. Unless you have business here, I'm going to have to tell the landlady." I said snippishly. The old woman chuckled, making the folds of her cloak ripple.
"Look to the stars. The wandering souls seek guardians." Was all she said, and I looked up, to see a single star split into many and fall to earth, each one descending in a different location. When I glanced back to the old woman, she had vanished. I am serious, she simply disappeared. In her place was a cloth the color of that volumnous robe she had been wearing wrapped around a little medallion in the shape of a thundercloud with a bolt of lightning emerging from it.
I took in the little symbol, reading on the ancient parchment also with the cloud that the spirits of many beings had come to this world in the form of mere objects, only transforming to what they truly were after another creature had shown them love. After falling over with shock, I decided that I douldn't possibly seek out and look after so many children. I needed some assistance.
And so, special Gaians have been selected by these entities, with a little help from we here at the ACCAC, to watch over them, and help them grow. It has become my duty to unite them in peace, and I have a feeling it will not be a simple task.
The ACC Adoption Center is currently: Opening its custom slots. If you have the gold and the time, go ahead!
