Serendipities are, in all appearances, aquatic dragons. They spend a good portion of their life in or around water, although it is not neccessary that they be in it all the time. Naturally amiable creatures, fights rarely break out, and fatal injuries are virtually nonexistant.
The Serendipity's existance was discovered not long ago by a lonely former-scientist, retired to the banks of his North Carolinian home. In the wild, Serendipities are known to be able to communicate telepathicaly to others of their "pod;" in captivity, they bond only to their human caretaker, and are able to speak in broken english via that link.
Because of the scientist's careful care and research, Serendipities are now being bred in captivity and sold as pets to those who promise to take good care of them.
They are sentient creatures; they simply don't know our way of communication.

Egg 3-5 Days
The egg stage is the beginning of a Serendipity's life. They remain in their eggs for about two weeks - one for incubation. Once out of the incubation nest and sold, it usually takes around a week for the eggs to hatch. The colors on the eggs decide the colors of the Serendipity.

Baby 2-3 Weeks
The baby stage is the most attention-oriented stage. This is the most crucial point in human-creature bonding. The babies crave constant attention, and begin to imprint you in their mind when you're around. If you want a good bond, you must spend a lot of time with your hatchling.
Curiosity is the hathcling's prime instinct; they want to find out what things are and how they work, but because they're not yet aware of danger, this could get them into trouble.

In the wild, the adolescent stage is when Serendipities are left to fend for their own. Because of this, adolescents tend to be far less affectionate than the babies, but they're also more mellow and less likely to hurt themselves. Not unlike their human companions, they may go through stages of rebellion.
This is the stage when they begin to find interest in other Serendipities, and lifebonds - strong bonds between two Serendipities - have been recorded at the adolescent stage. Chances are your Serendipity will want to spend more time with his friends than with you; don't impede on his space, but try to slip in a hug and a treat every now and then to keep the bond strong.

This is the stage where the bond between you and your Serendipity becomes evident. If you've spent enough time with it throughought its life, you'll begin to feel blasts of emotions or 'hear' very primitive, broken phrases your dragon might have picked up from you. At this stage, he no longer needs you as a guardian, just more as a friend.
He's completely amphibiac; he can survive just as well out of water as in it. Lifebonds are also made during the adult stage, and the female Serendipities become able to reproduce.

Lifebond
A lifebonds form only between two Serendipities, regardless of their gender, and is a permanent bond. Lifebound Serendipities are prone to lay eggs more per clutch (provided that the bond forms between a male and a female; homosexual pairs cannot have offspring), and the Serendipities may choose to live with each other in a single Pond.
Aetasbond
Aetasbonds are uncommon bonds that tie a Serendipity to its human companion. The bound can communicate telephatically, but never in very complicated sentances, and are able to express feeling through the bond.

Eggs are available through several different mehtods:
+Flatsales
+Auctions
+Raffles
+Events

<center>.+ Flatsales +.</center>
Flatsales are held frequently, and are the most common way of recieving an egg. They're done prompt style, which gives everyone an equal chance at winning an egg.

Procedure:

• On the prearranged date and time of the flatsale, I - Impending Instant Noodles - will post a prompt, along with the word "GO," huge and in a noticeable color. This "GO" is your signal to write up and post a response, which you may not edit after sending. Don't worry about spelling - neither of the judges is that nitpicky.
  
• At the end of 30 minutes, if all of the eggs have owner candidates, I will post the word "STOP;" again in huge text with noticeable color. I'll accept posts that end the same minute or a minute after the "STOP," unless Gaia is being supremely laggy; then I'll make some exceptions.
  
• If not all eggs have owner candidates, the flatsale will be extended an extra day.
  
• If, by the end of the extension, not all eggs have owner candidates, the flatsale will end anyway, and the egg will be raffled to those who didn't win the egg of their choice.
  
• Once the flatsale has ended, the responses will be judged, and the winners will be posted in the thread. After the list is posted, please PM Impending Instant Noodles with the egg you tried for, the name you'd like (you can wait until it hatches if you want), and send a trade for 2,000 gold.
  
• After your trade has been recieved, you will be PM'd with the URL to the certificate of your egg. Direct link this URL - it can't grow otherwise.

Auctions will be held in seperate threads. The rules may differ; check the thread for more details.
Procedure:

• Auctions will begin at a prearranged time and date, and will run for 24 hours (unless stated otherwise).
  
• Bids will be accepted until 30 minutes before the end of the auction; any bids after that will be ignored. (This is to prevent "sniping." wink
  
• Once the auction is over, the person with the highest bid is expected to pay within 24 hours, unless he or she contacts me beforehand. If you are unable to pay what you have bid, don't even bid at all.
  
• If the highest bidder fails or is unable to pay, the second highest bidder will be contacted.
  
• The winner is to PM me - Impending Instant Noodles - with a name for their egg (they can wait until it hatches to name it), and send a trade for their winning bid.

Raffles are held when there are eggs remaining from flatsales. They're held in seperate threads.
Procedure:

• Raffle tickets can be purchased in the raffle thread once the raffle begins. There is a maximum of 10 tickets per person, and raffles run for a week.
  
• Once the raffle is over, the winner(s) will be posted on the raffle thread (to keep things fair, we will use a randomizer to choose the winner(s)).
  
• Winners will PM Impending Instant Noodles with a name for their egg (they can wait until it hatches to name it).

If you have a Serendipity, it will be taken away and put up for adoption, and you will no longer be allowed to participate in flatsale, auctions, raffles, or events. Sorry, but you've been warned.

• Extensive roleplay is not neccessary for your Serendipity to grow; however, it is necessary to form the Aetasbond.
  
• Please stop in once a week or so, just to let us know that you're alive and still interested.
  
• Roleplaying takes place in this thread.
  
• Whiners, poor sports, and beggars will be graylisted.
  
• Please, please, please at least make some attempt to write in grammatically correct sentances. Shorthand typing is lazy and looked down upon.
