Zone 3

A vast desert, baking under a hot sun. There aren't many spots around here to escape the heat, but if you're lucky you might stumble accross an almost dried up oasis. Beware of windstorms and sinking sands, or you may not make it home again.

Wild Monsters

The following is a list of wild monsters that may be encountered during your explorations in the jungle. The letter before their name signifies their strength, E being weakest, and S being strongest. It is to the discretion of the RPer as to whether or not their monster can defeat a wild monster (but try to use a bit of common sense, k?)

Dedicated Bunny

Xue Fang's Errantry
Once in the Mandy Desert, Saedusk took off her coat, stuffing it into her pack. Xue was panting wildly. She hadn't realized how much she liked the cold untill arriving in this scorching hot place. Sae explained to Xue how errantries worked.

Soon after Saedusk's explaination Xue's errantry started. She pushed her way through powerful twisters, coming out on the other side. He fur was windblown, causing the girl to laugh.

Next, to make their way through the desert, Xue had to wake a camel. It was sleeping in the middle of the road, making travel past impossible. Xue crouched, readying for an attack. She took off at the camel, charging into it, and knocking herself over. Luckily, the camel woke up, and walked off past Sae.

As they walked on, their canteen became empty, quickly. Eventually they reached an oasis, but unfortuantly the water seemed to have dried up. Saedusk pressed her ear to a rock in the middle of the small hole that use to be a pond. She heard water running through it. Xue jumped up. She began to attack the rock until it split, releasing fresh, cool water for them to fill their canteen with.

Saedusk pointed happily as the desert's exit came into view. Xue barked and ran towards it, only to be knocked off her feet by a rumble that came from the earth. Suddenly a large hole opened in the ground, revealing a large ant. Sae gasped as Xue was sucked into the hole. She ran around to the other side, coaxing Xue to try harded to climb out. The Tiger's legs went at full speed, but she wasn't use to running on sand, especially up out of a deep pit spiraling downwards. Eventually after much struggling and coaxing from Sae, the exhausted Xue plopped up out of the pit next to her trainer. The ant gave up, burrowing back into the ground. Xue took a long drink from the canteen before following Saedusk out of the desert.
[color=black]Passing Through
Jiora sighed softly as she glanced around. Why in the world had she chosen to bring her monsters here of all places? Damn deserts... She adjusted the hat she was wearing to keep off the sun, glancing back at T'nel and Sentinel as she did so.

Sentinel didn't seem to mind the heat at all. That probably had to do with his lack of any body to speak of. Jiora arched a brow when she noticed he was moving in just the right way to keep T'nel in the shade - interesting... Maybe he wasn't as indifferent to things as she's thought he was.

T'nel seemed happy enough - at least so long as she stayed in the shade and slight breeze that Sentinel was providing her. She screeched in distress any time the hot sun was on her for more than a minute or two. Poor thing... That was it - no more desert trips until T'nel had grown some more. ...as soon as this one was over. She couldn't let herself seem soft in front of her monsters, right?

It wasn't long before they came upon a few twisters. Perfect training for T'nel. The wind would keep her cool enough that she wouldn't mind being out of Sentinel's shade. "Alright, T'nel. You just need to get through those, alright?"

T'nel eyed the twister's warily, growling and making soft screeching sounds as she tried to build up her courage. Jiora gave her a gentle nudge after a few moments and she grumbled again, charging forward through the twisters. She reached the other side after a bit of a struggle - somewhat winded but none the worse for the wear. She cooed and wriggled happily as Jiora leaned down to praise her, all four eyes shutting in delight.

Sentinel hung back from the pair, swinging his scythe around in lazy arcs while he waited for them to finish their scene. As he swung the scythe behind himself there was a dull cling, much like that as metal striking stone. He glanced back, his mask shifting to a frowning expression when he noticed what seemed to be a boulder sitting there. That hadn't been there before, had it...?

"Sentinel! Use Death Punch now!!"

What was Jiora yelling about now? He jerked back as the 'boulder' suddenly moved - a wild golem! He reacted quickly, lashing out at the Golem with one of the Death Punches that Jokers were known for. It didn't seem to have much of an effect, and he only just managed to jerk back to avoid a Slap from the Golem.

"Move back further and use Death Cutter!"

Sentinel would have preferred to win the battle on his own, but he had to admit he'd have attempted the same thing. Best to get out of the Golem's striking range before it did some serious damage. He drifted back further, swinging his scythe around in a Death Cutter move. His mask shifted into a smile again when the Golem toppled back - not defeated, but at least wounded.

The Golem stood again and tried to move closer, but Sentinel simply drifted back at a pace to match the Golem's. He lashed out with another Death Cutter, his shoulders shaking in what seemed to be laughter as the Golem fell once more only to rise shakily to its feet a moment later.

The rest of the battle passed in much the same manner - Sentinel staying just out of the Golem's reach and cackling every time he landed a blow. The wild monster was eventually defeated and chased off, leaving Sentinel as the victor. He twirled his scythe proudly, turning to peer curiously back at his owner and barn mate.

"That was brilliant, Sentinel!! You did a great job!" Sentinel's mask shifted to a cheery grin under the praise. He was in such a good mood that he allowed Jiora to talk him into returning to the ranch early - she didn't want to overwork him with more training right after his first battle.

Jiora grinned brightly to herself as they left the desert. An excellent first trip - especially for a beginner like her.
