<center>..:: Announcements ::..</center>
12.15.04 :: Oy! I am a busy little beaver. I have finally given out the rest of the Behemoth eggs, as well as two of the new SE familiars (I'll decide where the third one goes later). It's been hellish but I am getting through it! YES.
We are going to be having Secret Santa familiars available here pretty soon, so get those pockets ready!

11.30.04 :: Gaspness. More adults are popping up everywhere! This is most intriguing... perhaps breeding shall be soon. Who knows for sure.
There may be an auction as well.. as for the three remaining Halloween eggs.. Who knows. >>

11.19.04 :: Goodness, a lot has been happening but I am finally kicking this place back into gear. One of the Behemoth eggs from the Halloween event (as late as it is) was given out, the Hybrid finally came out of his egg, and now, adults are starting to spring up! YAY!

10.03.04 :: The Halloween event is now up!

<center>http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3938016</center>

09.26.04 :: Plans for a Halloween event are now ongoing! Be sure to hang out around the thread to hear more about it!

09.14.04 :: Hey folks, over at the Phyxa labs (where I am shop manager) we will be having an event this weekend to find some Phyxas new homes. If you don't own a Phyxa and would like one, please join the guild (it's free!) and get to know more about the Phyxa before then. ^_^

09.10.04 :: The auction is now up for the Fire / Shadow Hybrid.
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3680271
Anyone can bid, including current owners though I'd like to let a new owner get a hold of it.
Items are now available for purchasing. Please check out one of the later poses for information.

09.01.04 :: Well, it's a new month. Wow. It's amazing how fast this year has gone by huh? September. O_O But that's now what I'm here to talk about.
The Fire Shadow Hybrid auction will be happening maybe this weekend or sometime next week. I'm not sure. Anyone can bid on it, including owners (should they feel they can handle two Behemoths) as this will be a Gen 2 Behemoth. Please be sure to check back for further details.

08.29.04 :: Most of the eggs have hatched. Hooray! Also, I have found my camera charger which means that I was able to scan in the True Fire/Shadow Hybrid egg and its child form, which then means that I will be able to hold the auction like I plan to. It will not be until sometime in September though. As with all Hybrids, the lineart is going to be unique (though it's been premade) and you will be able to choose the colors but not the sex. It will be a Generation 2 Behemoth.

08.27.04 :: The first Shadow type was revealed. You can see him on page 121. And hooray, of course, for reaching 100 pages. ^_^
Items will be available ASAP. If you have any suggestions for items, please post them in the thread.

08.23.04 :: We have one guest colorist, Sosiqui. She would have been my first pick but she's extremely busy and we (her and I that is) decided she would do good as a guest colorist. Congratulations!
This means the spot of the third, permanent colorist is still available, as well as a second guest one.

08.19.04 :: The first babies were born! Congratulations to bran-chan and TheMadHatter!

08.17.04 :: Well, it took a few hours but all the eggs got sold. Hooray. Congratulations to everyone. ^_^

08.16.04 :: The first flat sale has been schedule to take place tomorrow, Tuesday, August 17th, at 5PM Gaia Standard Time. Chickies will not be here to update the flat sale window nor the title page so the eggs will be put in the thread or in this post. So, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE THREAD. o_o;

08.14.04 :: A lot of the information is slowly being put up. Hoping to schedule a flat sale sometime within the next week or so.

08.08.04 :: The thread is finally back. Because Dili can no longer run on a good computer, I found another manager. Please welcome Chickies.
I am also aware that the coloring contest never got complete and I'm hoping to remedy that by allowing people to send me requests to become a Breeder / Colorist here at the shop. I will only have one spot open, but the two colorists that I like below them get to create a Behemoth for themselves to keep and will be back up / guest breeders here at the shop.
We're devising a whole new system. These pets will still remain non-Roleplay Required, but we've introduced the Stats system for those who do roleplay. There's also been a slight alteration in the certificates, and we're hoping to get right back on track.
If you are interested in becoming a breeder please post a message here on the thread and Toushin will contact you.
<center>..:: General Rules ::..</center>
1. Do not ask us about availability, either on the thread or in Private Messages. When we decide to have a sale or auction, it will normally be announced 24hrs in advance.
2. Do not cause problems or start fights. Try to be civilized here.
3. Don't use cursing if you don't need to. I have nothing against it but others do.
4. Be courteous to the feelings of others.
5. Do not advertise your shop in here unless you are an affiliate, but do not try to direct traffic from here to there. Only advertise if something is going on.
6. Do not ask for opinions on a future pet you might make -- make another thread for that please, or ask for (Toushin or Chickies') permission.
7. We allow all suggestions on anything, including the incorporation of items and what kinds, species, and familiars. You, however, will not be paid for these ideas.
8. All rules apply to all threads that coordinate with the original main Behemoths thread.
9. Don't ask to work here.
10. Do not ask owners for their eggs.

<center>..:: Ownership Rules ::..</center>
1. Behemoths are currently unlimited, meaning you can own as many as you please but be prepared to handle them all.
2. Behemoths can be given away or resold but only with the notification of Toushin and at the price you bought it at. If you bought your Behemoth in an auction, then you must discuss it with Toushin.
3. We ask that you try to be as active as possible, which does not always mean having to roleplay, even though we love it. Just come and stop by the thread and say hi, let us know you're around. However, the more you RP, chances are some nice things may happen.
4. Be courteous to other Behemoth owners and those who are wishing to become one. You are setting an example for our shop, after all.
5. Behemoths can only be traded as eggs. As soon as they begin to hatch though they must stay with their current owner. However, if an egg produces a set of twins, then the owner can choose to give the other one away.
6. Choosing to never come here and to never contact the staff, or respond to any PMs could result in the loss of your Behemoth.

Quote:
behemoth :: Something enormous in size or power; a huge animal, possibly the hippopotamus, described in the Bible.

In this case, a Behemoth is not a hippopotamus. In the world of Gaia, the Behemoth is a class of dragon, more than likely a cousin. The first part of the definition is true: they are very enormous in size and in power, often intimidating many of those who can be unfortunate to walk in their paths.
While these creatures can appear to be very dangerous and formidable, most have a good nature and are often willing to help a human or animal that is in need despite the stereotype that their more devious counterparts (dragons) have forged over the years in the human mind. Of course, it does also depend on the type of Behemoth that you come across and what its values are.
Like dragons, Behemoths are capable of magic as well as many other natural skills, such as fire breathing, though it again depends on the type of Behemoth it is as each has developed their own special kind of breath weapon. Their sizes also vary, as well as types of wings, and anything else about them.

<center>..:: Types ::..</center>
There are so far six known types of Behemoths, all of which have their own unique appearence. They have been named according to where they dwell, not by appearence alone.

<img src="http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v157/behemothschaos/thread/air.jpg" align="right">Sky Dancers (Air) - Sky Dancers are the Air Behemoths. While they are dubbed Air, they are not the only ones capable of flight, but instead, they live high up in the mountains, and rumors are even amongst the clouds making them a very rare find indeed.
The Sky Dancers are the only Behemoth types that lack scales. Instead, they have feathers and some fur on their bodies which are continuously doused in a special oil to give them a shining appearence while they soar the skies. They have four legs and the wings are positioned just at the shoulder blades, and are rougly four to six times the size of the Behemoth itself.
Sky Dancers are the most understanding and gentlest of the Behemoths, but they rarely ever interact with humans for reasons unknown. In the few occassions when human and Dancer meet, most often good comes of it. However, they have also been known for their very bad tempers which can flare at an instant, so caution is often taken when pursuing one or its nest.
Dancers live in large family groups, called flocks where there is usually one large male who is head of the flock with numerous female mates and other males that act as defenders. The females will occassionally act as defenders but are primarily den mothers, and are very dangerous when their eggs or young are threatened.
As infants, the Dancers lack wings but have a full coat of feathers and fur. They're about the size of a full grown, medium sized dog and spend their days as young learning to hunt (as Dancers are omnivores) and the ways of Dancer life. As adults, their wings come in and they are about the size of an Arabian in length from tip of nose to tip of tail. They have talons on all fours paws, and are capable of grappling with the forepaws. Their tails are mostly consisting of fur along the bottom and does not come in any special design.
Color wise, Dancers are generally very light to a pastel kind of hue, though there have been incidents where there is a dark colored one, but such are indeed rare. They can have very intricate designs on their coats and come in many different shades. Their special breath weapon is a lightning blast.
Semi-Rare

<img src="http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v157/behemothschaos/thread/fire.jpg" align="left">Flame Bearers (Fire) - The Flame Bearers are one of the three only evil Behemoths. These types are not necessarily evil, but they are very cruel and considered the tricksters of the Behemoth community. Just as their name suggests, they are breathers of Fire and can control it with ease, even as a youngster. The ability is almost innate, thus making them formidable and difficult to handle as infants.
Flamers (as they are typically called) are also one of the three species with horns, both male and female. They come in a variety of colors as well, though they are normally medium shaded to a darker one, and are not just limited to reds, oranges, and yellows. Again, in rare cases one might find a pastel color but it's a rare find. Their hide consists of scales while their belly is made of plates going from beneath the jaw all the way down to the tip of the tail. As it descends though, the plates get weaker making their stomachs very vulnerable to attacks.
Flamers tend to live in very small groups, generally consisting of a female and her young. Occassionaly the sire will stay with the mother to raise the young but normally would go off in search of a new mate. These Behemoths are rogues a good majority of their life, except during mating season and their younger years.
As infants, they are the size of a great dane and lack pupils, but in some cases there will be feline slits. Most have spiked manes running down their spines, sometimes stopping at the start of their tail or going on until the tip. They lack wings, as all Behemoths do at this age, and their tails do not provide any protection. Their only defenses are teeth, claws, and their fire breath but it does not have a far enough range to work effectively. When maturing, their wings are at the shoulders and three 'limbs' attached to the main stalk where a few fingers rest at the heightened point. Each limb is connected by a thin membrane which can easily tear under stress. As adults they are roughly the size of a large Clydesdale.
Common

<img src="http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v157/behemothschaos/thread/mountainous.jpg" align="right">Mountainous (Stone) - Next to the Dancers, the Mountainous breed is also extremely gentle despite that they are primarily an offensive type. They are also one of the only three types with horns, both males and females. They use these horns not only to determine a leader or to fight, but also to move aside boulders and other objects while tunneling. As their name suggests, they live in mostly mountains, burrowing deep underground to raise their young. They are not like dwarves and shun the rest of the world; in fact, they are the ones who are most active, thus making them a very common sight amongst the human world.
Infant Mountainous' are the size of a sheltland pony, born with their horns which are not entirely hardened like in their adult stage. The males have a distinct blunt snout while the females have more of a tapered one, and an innocent doe look to them. While they are often burrowing in heated environments, their hide is made of flesh and their stomach covered in slim plates. The plates and hide work together to continuously keep the body cooled, even in the hottest of conditions. Their special breath weapon is acid which is normally vomitted up from their stomach. Depending on how much is used, it could cause them serious illness and a loss of strength as it takes with them all the vitamins and nutrients that they had stored away. The young are incapable of doing this feat, except in dire need.
Even though they are mountain dwellers, as adults they also have wings, which are made primarily of flesh and membrane. Despite the fragile appearence they have, they are capable of withstanding very heavy blows due to evolution to adapt to their need to stay in caverns. As adults they are, at the most, twelve feet, sizing up like a Norwegian horse in length. Mountainous' come in a variety of colors as they are not limited to just a certain type.
Common

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v157/behemothschaos/thread/shadow.jpg" align="left">Shadowlings (Shadow) - Shadowlings are the worse of all the types currently discovered. They are inherently evil with a bad temper, and a love of all things.. well, painful. Causing pain anyhow. The Shadowlings are the final type of Behemoth that have horns, and both sexes come equipped, even at an early age they are extremely hard and ready for use against their enemies. What few enemies they have.
The females have a long flowing mane while the males lack any hair as an infant. They are roughly the size of a cow calf at this age, making them one of the largest of the types as adults. Their body consists primarily of scales and plates, but they do have tufts of hair coming out of their ears, which are extremely sensitive to temperature changes.
Shadows dwell in shadows, obviously. In the darkest part of the world they live either as rogues or in colonies, constantly fighting one another for territory. They are strict carnivores, and will attack other Behemoths that come wandering into their land and feast on their carcass.
When they mature, their wings are like a Flamer's. In fact, the two are very closely related but they still do not tolerate one another. Color wise the Shadows are generally very dark to a medium shade, and it is a very rare case when they are a light color. At that time most people would try to hunt them down for the magnificent hide as it fetches a good price on the market. Besides having talons and teeth, their special breath weapon is acid, capable of rendering human flesh right from the bone. Their breath weapon is not like the Mountainous, which comes from the stomach, but theirs comes from special glands in the mouth. They can spew it out in very large, uncoordinated messes or spit them out in quick secession as little bits, like a snake.
Semi-Rare

<img src="http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v157/behemothschaos/thread/swamp.jpg" align="right">Moss Dwellers (Earth) - The most atrocious looking of the Behemoth types. These fellows, as infants, are about the size of an adult bulldog, with a pair of eyes that can move any way, and in two different directions, making them a formidable opponent when hunting them. They have no tails, and instead of walking, they hop most of the way around. Each paw is webbed as they are swimmers, and they also have a very sticky substance constantly being secreted so as to easily grab onto prey or onto rocks and trees when going into hiding. With some resemblance to an insect, a set of antennae rests on the tops of both sexes' heads, often used to catch smells in the air and to touch things. The colors of their hides vary, and they are not always born to match their surroundings, though some are capable of changing their skin to blend in with their surroundings.
Mossers are also carnivorous. They have a long sticky tongue that can be projected over ten feet to catch prey. They will eat anything from small rodents to horses, and occassionally, other Behemoths. It can take them some time to digest a very large meal, leaving them vulnerable to any enemy attacks. In their jaw, they have a small alignment of teeth used to tear flesh as some will catch them with their tongue, choke them to death, then feast on the remains slowly.
When Mossers mature, they have an unusual set of wings that are like that of a dragonfly's. They can fly with them, though only for short distances as their body grows extremely heavy and the small wings (which comes in a set of two totalling up to four wings) cannot carry the weight for so long. As adults, they are about the size of a Clydesdale, with the added weight. Their teeth also grow in more considerably, and it aligns both upper and lower portions of the mouth.
Mossers are loners, except when it comes to mating. This is the only time that Mossers are seen together. After the mating, the two go their separate ways, abandoning the nest, thus leaving them exposed to possible predators. Very rarely do all of the eggs survive to hatch and be born.
The only defense a Mosser has is the horrid taste of their flesh when bitten. They are capable of attacking with their teeth and very powerful back kicks with their legs. As with other types, their breath weapon is a gas that paralyzes the enemy.
Common

<img src=http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v157/behemothschaos/thread/water.jpg align=left>Abyss Lurkers (Water) - The Lurkers are a water based Behemoth, often found in either very large lakes (normally over five miles in all directions) or in oceans. While they spend a good majority of their life in the water, they are capable of walking up on land. Each foot has a webbing between the toes, and a span of frills on each cheek to guide them while they swim. Both sexes has a span of dorsal fins along their spine, normally starting at the top of the skull and ending at the tip of the tail. Their eyes have two sets of lids, one for actual closing and the other that is a very thin transparency so that they can see under water.
When they mature, the Lurkers have no wings. Instead, they have a membrane that connects from their arms to their bodies that can be used as gliders, though not for the air but the water. This membrane can help them reach speeds of over fifty miles, which comes in handy while hunting. Lurkers are carnivorous and feed on any animal, large or small that happens to wander into the water or near the shore.
Infant Lurkers are born on land where the mother cares for them. They learn to swim at an earlier age but never go off into the deeper parts of their habitat for drowning can occur, as well as other forms of death. The mother stays with the infants even when they mature, often forming large family groups (pods). These pods are not limited to just a mother and her children, but also to males. Infants are the size of a small pony, but as adults, they are about the size of a quarter horse, though the tail adds onto their length.
Adults have not only the membrane, but a tail fin as well to help move them along. They swim like a whale does, not a fish, and are capable of remaining under the water for two to five hours. Their dive depth is unknown, hence why they are known as Abyss Lurkers.
A Lurker's body is made of a soft, rubbery skin with the occassional patch of scales. In some Lurkers, there have been ones composed entirely of scales. The colors are not just limited to tinted blues, which is a great help to their environment, but light colors also work well in some of the lighter based environments.
Lurkers can be somewhat formidable opponents, especially in the sea. They can easily overthrow a large fishing boat, and will not hesitate to eat humans if they are hungry enough. There are no records of them simply attacking a human fishing boat just to eat though. Most of these attacks happen when they are threatened as some fishermen will hunt the pods for their blubber and skins. Along with their massive bodies, they have very sharp teeth, sometimes in two to three rows worth on upper and lower jaw, as well as their breath weapon which is a frost based attack that can freeze a body.
Common

<center>..:: Aging ::..</center>
Behemoths go through three primary stages of growth. Since they are reptilian in nature, they always give birth with eggs but there have been some extremely rare incidents where live birth have been produced, but generally such young rarely ever survive.

<img src=http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v157/behemothschaos/thread/eggu.jpg align=left>Egg - As with all reptiles (or a good majority of them anyhow), the Behemoths are born from eggs. These eggs are normally in clutches from one to six, with higher numbers always a rare occassion. Each egg is set in a nest with the rest of the ones it was born with as all need to be together in order for the eggs to hatch. However, the eggs will hatch at different times. They also have a very thick outer shell, this being their only defense against predators.
When it comes ready to hatch, the egg generally begins to wiggle about as the live becomes more active. Soon enough cracks will begin appearing all along the outer shell. This cracking session can take minutes to hours to complete, but the infant must do it on its own, or it could suffer some severe consequences. Sometimes the mother will help the infant out from the egg.
The eggs generally indicate what colors the Behemoth will have. However, no one can actually tell what type will come out until it happens. They are extremely large, far too big to be carried by just one or two people.
PS: The only eggs that do not show what colors are customs, which are indicated by the grey egg displayed.)

Infant - Each Behemoth infant is different in both appearance and personality. Regardless though, they all still remain the same in some way. As infants they lack wings, and very few are capable of controlling their special breath weapon like they can as adults. Behemoths remain infants for about two to three weeks, though interaction will always help it to grow faster.
Infants are naturally very curious, and this is the point in time where they begin to develop their personality, with the help of their owner and their familiar.

Adult - Finally! Your Behemoth is now fully grown, capable of defending itself, and of course, you! At this stage the Behemoths have finally developed their wings (except for the water types which have no wings), are large enough to be ridden, and have complete control over their breath weapon. This is also the point in time where they can begin to mate, but one week after they have fully matured.
Adults are extremely dangerous because of their offensive capabilities, and some have even been known to turn on poor owners, especially the more evil of the types, which is why they often need to have some very close attention. Good care at the infant stage though will protect an owner from this.
<center>..:: Breeding ::..</center>

Behemoths are capable of breeding two weeks after maturing into adults. Mating pairs must be male/female in order to produce eggs. The pairs do not have to be of the same type, though the chances of an Air / Shadow mating together are extremely rare due to their natural and polar opposites of one another. If two types breed together, the offspring are going to be either of the parents' type, and in some very rare occassions, a true Hybrid may be born into the clutch. Hybrids take on the characteristics of both parents, and are capable of breeding later on though the chances of them passing on their genes to the next generation are very slim.
When Behemoths breed, they can have clutches from two to six eggs, which the owners can do with as they please. The eggs must, however, remain together in order to hatch, though they will normally hatch at separate times. There have been known cases of two Behemoths being born of one egg (not as Siamese Twins, but as twins nonetheless). In this case, the owner of that egg can either choose to keep both infants or to give them away.

<center>Breeding Slots: Closed
Breeding Costs: 3,000g (1,500g from each owner)
</center>

Quote:
When are slots open?
... Generally they will be open once a month on a first come, first serve basis.

Will you reserve?
... No, we will not reserve unless it's a very special case. Like, you live in an entirely different time zone and are incapable of getting yourself into the breeding otherwise.

I'll pay more though!
... No.

How many eggs will we get?
... Depends. If it's two owners, there's a guarantee you'll get two. If it's one owner, you'll get at least one egg.

Can we do anything with the eggs?
... Yes, you can sell them, trade them, auction them, raffle them. I don't care but I need to be made aware and all the sales must follow procedure.

Who do we send the trade to?
... You send it to Toushin, with the subject reading Breeding or else I'll take it as a donation.

How do I apply for breeding?
... Post here in the thread the following information:
Your Name:
Your Behemoth:
Chosen Mate:
Mate's Owner:

Once you have all that done, send the trade and wait for confirmation. You also need to contact the other owner and have them post here as well before any further action can be done. Again, this is first come, first serve so if another pair beats you to the last spot, then you'll have to wait for the next round.

OMG I WANT EGG111!!111!!!1!1!!!111!!!
- Type intelligently please.

Ok... I want an egg. How do I get one?
- Much better. There are many ways to get eggs. There are flat sales, auctions, raffles, events, customs, and you can obtain one through someone's breeding (IF THEY WANT TO GIVE YOU ONE) and as a gift from staff (IF WE FEEL LIKE IT).

Would I be able to buy one for a friend in a flatsale?
- No. Each person can only buy one egg, and that is either for themselves or for a friend.

Will you reserve me an egg?
- Nope.

...But im gonna pay like 10k if you reserve me an egg!
- Nope. Remember, Toush has rabies, and a shotgun. He will attack without provocation. Wait, that is provocation.

*pmpmpmpm staff or owners for eggs*
- *SMACKS* Welcome to the twitlist. Trust me, if we catch anyone harassing the owners for eggs, we'll make sure he/she NEVER gets one.

Do you offer customs?
- Yes.

What are the rules for them?
- There really aren't any rules, except what normally applies to coloring Behemoths. Which means no naturals, no bright colors, or rainbow.

How do they breed?
- Go look at the breeding faq and the breeding information.

Do you do pet trades?
- Yes, we do, either with a customer of the shop or the shop owner itself. Please PM Toushin for details.

Will you let me know when eggs are available?
- No, it's your own responsibility to be here and to be aware of what's going on. We may have a mailing list but that's not a for sure thing.

Can we co-own?
- No, and for the following reasons:
1. Personality problems. One owner might want to play the character one way and the other owner may want to play it another way.
2. One owner will only show up while the other doesn't, which defeats the purpose of co-owning.

Sometime in the future, and under special cases, we'll allow co-owning but for right now, there's no need to. You can allow others to RP the pet, if you want though.

What other pets can we RP here?
- I would rather you not roleplay pets that are not on this list.
...Avaji
...Pixars
...Pennas

If you would like your own pet to be added to this list, please let me know.

<Center>..:: Selling F.A.Q. ::..</center>
How much are eggs auctioned for?
- All Common eggs will start at 2K and have a cap of 20K. All Semi-Rare eggs will have a cap of 75K and start at 2K. These caps can be removed by the staff, and if owners wish to have it removed for their auction, they must PM Toushin or Chickies for permission.

How much are Behemoth eggs sold for?
- Each egg is sold at 2K each, unless it's a rare or a special type.

How much can Behemoth eggs be raffled for?
- No more than 2K but no less than 1.5K in the raffle's earnings.

How many tickets can be sold?
- As many as you would like so long as they meet the quota.

How many times can be people enter?
- Entirely up to you.

Can it be a free to enter raffle but pay 2K upon winning?
- Yes it may.

How much of the sale (raffle, auction, or flat sale) must return to you?
- 25% must return to me from a raffle or flat sale, 50% from an auction.

Can we give our eggs away?
- Yes you may.

How long must an auction go on for?
- 24 hours at the max.

Do you need to be notified of any sales?
- Yes, I must be notified, or at least notify your breeder so they can let me know.

<center>..:: Roleplay ::..</center>

First off, I would like to state that ROLEPLAY IS NOT REQUIRED. Yes, that's right. It is not required. We may have the statistics bar but you are not required to roleplay your Behemoths.
Now for a lovely frequently asked questions about roleplaying.

Quote:
Why should we roleplay?
- Well, for starters, the more you roleplay with your Behemoth, the more its happiness bar will go up, and you qualify to boost your other stats as well as get special things.

What sort of special things?
- Familiars, items, ectera. Your Behemoth may also grow faster than normal.

If we do choose to roleplay, how often do we have to?
- That's entirely up to you. I can't say "Roleplay this many times a week!" when there's no guarantee that I'll be able to roleplay that many times a week.

Can we set up a journal for our Behemoth(s)?
- Sure! Of course, I would like to have a guild where we can do that instead so that we don't have to worry about miscellaneous persons trying to be jerks.

Do we have to roleplay on the thread?
- If you'd like me to be able to follow up on you, yes. You can roleplay in outside places, but if you have a journal, please post the log in your journal so I can be sure to upgrade your stats accordingly.

Is there any special format we should roleplay in?
- No, but I prefer that roleplayers use third person roleplay rather than first person. It just sounds so much better. You don't have to though.

What time era is this?
- It is strictly medieval-fantasy with some steam punk (airships, boats, primitive guns) mixed in. TV does not exist. Radio does not exist. Phones do not exist.

Nesting Grounds</center>

..:: The Setting
The Behemoth Ranch, as it's temporarily called, consists of three major buildings. One is the main building where people can come and inquire about owning a Behemoth and renting out a stable to house theirs in, as well as any other information. This is also a major assocation place for owners and their infants. The second building is about two hundred yards northeast, and this is where all the current Behemoths are housed in. This is also a major association place for owners and their pets. The final building is another two hundred yards northwest of the main building, and it has a corral. This is the breeding stable where mothers and fathers to be can have their own private time together. The corral is protected with a magical bubble so that the parents cannot fly away and other Behemoths cannot get in to destroy the eggs.

The surrounding area is mostly grassland with woods to the east, mountains to the north and west, and the ocean to the south. To reach any of these places would take two to five days travel, though with a full grown Behemoth, it could take either longer or shorter. A few trails lead out in each direction, as well as signs that point out the names. A line of fencing, about four feet high at the poles, each pole four and a half feet away from one another with two thick rungs between them, about half a foot between them.

..:: Communication Amongst Behemoths
Each breed has their own language. While to humans each language sounds the same, every pitch, every click has a different meaning, and some noises we can't even hear because they're so low. There is an overall language though that they can speak with one another.
At first, infants are incapable of actual common communication with humans, meaning english. As they gain more knowledge, however, they will soon be able to speak with their owners and with others. They may slur on certain letters, words, or pronunications because of their teeth and tongue. Overall, though, they can learn the language quickly and easily.

In roleplay, when communicating with fellow Behemoths of the same breed, you should use italics.
"Good morning!"

When communicating with the entire species, you should bold your speech.
"Good morning!"

Of course, when you are talking in the normal human language, you can type in regular quotations. Like this:
"Good morning!"

We only suggest this method because then it becomes easier to understand who you're talking to and in what languages. Some Behemoths are capable of learning the language of other breeds, but the chances are extremely slim that they'll understand, and even slimmer that they'll be able to actually speak it.

..:: Choosing Friendships and Relationships
Unlike dragons, which are of one pure allignment, Behemoths have the free will to choose their own. This can cause problems as many of their territorities impede upon one another and they all have unique personalities that don't always fit in with the general stereotypes (IE, a Mountainous may actually attack a human on sight).

This isn't saying, however, that a Shadowling will not befriend an Sky Dancer. It has been known to happen but such a case is rare. It's even more rare for the two of them to mate as they will need to find a place not only to bare and raise their eggs, there is the issue of the separate breeds coming in to intercede.
The concepts of homosexuality and bisexuality do not exist in the Behemoth culture. It is strictly male and female relationships and there isn't even a notion to be homosexual or bisexual. Such a thing is unheard of and has never happened.
** Please note that this last paragraph is included because I do not want this to happen to my creations. I am not a homophobe (I'm dating another female for goodness' sakes!) but again, these creatures are predominantly from an age older than humans, older than time itself, and they live in the old ways. The idea of seeing two creatures of the same sex mating or doing anything sexual is too difficult to comprehend.
This does not mean they cannot be affectionate with one another as a female will nuzzle and bathe another female, but nothing sexual will ever come as a result, and neither will the idea of wanting to be with them in that way.
I apologize if this may interfere with the plans of others but I do not want it on my thread.
<center>..:: Statistic Bars ::..
User Image</center>
This is an image of the certificate, or at least a part of it. This is where all the statistics go, as well as the regular information regarding your Behemoth.
Each certificate is color coded (the word 'Behemoth' and the Elemental Circle at the upper right corner).
Black - Shadow Behemoth
Blue - Water Behemoth
Gray - Air Behemoth
Green - Swamp Behemoth
Red - Fire Behemoth
Yellow - Mountain Behemoth

In the initial information box are the general information, which is all pretty much explainable on its own.
Name - This is the name that you give your Behemoth and what you will call it. The other Behemoths do not use this name when trying to stay in contact with one another.
Title - The name that the Eldest Behemoth (in this case, Colossus) will give to all of the younger ones. This is the name to which all Behemoths must refer to one another; it is a regal title, often times having to do with their looks or their own behavior.
Gender - The gender of your Behemoth.
Summoner - This is your name. While you are more like a Kin to the Behemoth, you are referred to them by the title of Summoner. There is special reason for this.
Type - The type of Behemoth that yours is. It will be one of the six listed, or it will be a Hybrid.

Beneath the information box are the statistics. There are five bars and at birth, your Behemoth will have some of them filled while others (generally Happiness and Knowledge) will be empty. You improve these statistics with roleplaying, purchasing items, and events.
HP - These are your health points. The more you have the longer you'll be able to stand in battle. HP stats are improved only through special item purchases (which will be rare) and events.
HPN - Your Behemoth's happiness. As a child, when this becomes full, it will allow them to turn into an adult. You can improve the Happiness of your Behemoth by roleplaying, item purchases, and events. This is normally always empty at birth and you can also lose your Happiness with the lack of interaction, as well as bad things happening (like your Behemoth loses a fight.)
KNL - How much Knowledge your Behemoth retains. This is knowledge of the human world, not their own. The memories of Behemoths are actually passed down but they only inherit what retains to their species, not others. Generally this is always empty upon hatching, but in some cases, with special owner care, they may have some knowledge of the human world. You can improve this with books and scrolls, occassionally through roleplay, and events.
STR - Your Behemoth's strength. Generally the males of all breeds will have better strength. The more strength they have, the longer they can do things and they can move heavier objects. This is improved through item purchases and events, rarely ever through roleplay.
SPD - Females tend to normally have the upper hand in speed. Depending on how much speed is retained, this determines also how well of a hunter your Behemoth is because they can catch their prey faster and far more reasily. Their speed also acts as stamina and the more they have, the longer they can also run. This couples with strength so generally having an even bar total with both of them is good. This improves with events, items, and occassionally with roleplay.
