Please note that these characters are RP-required. I REPEAT: THESE CHARACTERS ARE RP-REQUIRED. If you do not have the time or dedication to roleplay and at least fulfill the minimum RP requirements of this shop (posted below), please do not try for one. Also note that this shop will be full-literate, which means grammar and spelling do count. If your English is not so hot, please use a spell-checker.
Tabula Rasa requires you to RP at least once a month, either by yourself in story/journal format or with others. This is elaborated upon in the main thread.
This sale will be a concept contest. You must create a character concept that fits with the Tabula you are trying for. The only creative restrictions placed upon your responses are: (1) they must be complete and (2) they must incorporate the Tabula you are trying for. Of course, there are suggestions that can be made, but those are just suggestions!

NOTE: Many people are confused as to what to write for the "background" section. Tabula Rasa is a unique shop in that all Tabula start very "blank". So what could you possibly write for a background? For this, I point you to the main thread. If you are lazy (which will be reflected in your writing, I'm sure), here are the basics (taken from stage information):

As Rasa breaks off the heart, it wanders, in an unnatural state of detachment from matter. But sometimes, it seems Rasa crystallizes and forms a shard; it is one of these shards I had found the day before. From Rasa arise all things immaterial: our thoughts, memories and emotions. I believe that as Rasa crystallizes, a piece of the heart it broke off from is carried with the shard. Aquinas is just now yelling at one I imagine contains the essence of anger—it seems to be yelling back in a sort of thundering hum.
MANIFEST
All beings are made of two things—Rasa and matter. When the Rasa shards had been awakened, they were but solid Rasa. It seems that these shards call for matter, and it returns the call, concentrating around the shard until a full being is produced. They are but white pages, pale and sapped of all colour and emotion. Great voids grace their chests, revealing the shard set where the heart should rightly be.
The Rasa that constitutes a Tabula comes from Rasa that has broken off from someone else's heart. THIS IS ESSENTIALLY WHAT I MEAN WHEN I SAY BACKGROUND! Talk about this broken-off Rasa, and who it broke off from. Some other background ideas include:
-Something like where the shard was found
-Locke/Aquinas/Zoude's original impressions, etc.
ANOTHER NOTE: All Tabula sort of have a connection to where the Rasa came from originally, it's just that they may choose to fight against it or not act upon it.

Sooo... Let me get this straight. These heart-shaped shards will attract matter to them, which will eventually form a humanoid being?
--- Yes. There's more to it, but I don't think it really affects any part of roleplay.
How does roleplay work in this shop? I'm not too good with coming up with stories all on my own; does the staff release prompts? Or is roleplay simply... freeform?
--- Well, you can RP "freeform", that is, make up your own stories, etc. as much as you want. There will also be more structured opportunities in the form of battles, quests, events, etc.
Do we choose their gender?
--- Yes, you can choose their gender.

--- You have a week to complete your entry so that should give you time to think of a name before submitting your entry but by the off chance that you cannot decide on a name then you are welcome to wait until after winners have been announced to choose a name.
REMINDER... The name and gender that you use does not necessarily have to be the name and gender you choose to go with as a final decision at the end when winners are announced.
If we were to write a response for this sale, do we need a... guardian of sorts?
--- Nope, no guardians.
Or are you expecting a Tabula Rasa to just wander around without a soul?
--- Tabula Rasa do have souls. They're just mostly blank, which means that how you RP will very much affect the appearance, statistics, etc. of your Tabula.
Perhaps... the response could occur in the future when they are more developed?
--- You can write from either the Awakened stage or the Manifest stage. The Manifest stage is very similar to the Awakened, but here the Tabula has gathered matter and now has a corporeal body. They still don't have experience, so they're still very "blank".
And do these particular Tabula Rasa have some sort of magic power to them?
--- That depends on how you RP your Tabula Rasa. They will develop skills by going on quests that the RP Managers will develop for each Tabula Rasa.
Who gives them their names, then?
--- You guys (as in the winners) will be naming the Tabula Rasa that you win, so make sure that when that time comes that you name them well because once you give them a name... it will stay with them forever but just to be on the safe side, the staff will asks for name change requests of the Players if we believe it to be inappropriate or unreasonable.
Where do they live? I guess people take them in... But can a Rasa be left to wander the streets and fend for themselves? Do they go to orphanages when they reach their third stage and are physically like humans?
--- Ok... these Tabula Rasas are all in the care of Locke so... no, they do not wander the streets alone. After they get to a certain 'age' they may start venturing out on their own.
Does the general public know of the Rasa? What are their attitudes towards the Rasa Tabula?
--- The general public do know about the Tabula Rasa, but not very much. A lot is based on speculation and rumour. They're opinions may be mixed... it really depends on which plane/dimension they are from.
Rasa break off from existing hearts, right? What happens to the humans whose hearts the Rasa break off from?
--- Tabula Rasas.. are not human hearts but are like a soul of sorts. So the Rasa (aka soul) can be of many different things like the different seasons or even an emotion or memory. No one really knows completely (in-game, of course) what happens to the humans (and I use this term loosely. There are many, many races that all are capable of losing Rasa from the heart.) when Rasa breaks off from their hearts. There are some theories, but this is an area of research.
So Rasas (plural form?) are kind of like the essences of their... element... of sorts?
--- Tabula Rasas should actually be called "Tabulas" for short, simply because "Rasa" is also the word for the spiritual essence floating around everywhere. It could potentially get very confusing. Tabulas do have an essence of some sort contained within them, but that doesn't necessarily mean that essence will have any sort of effect on the Tabula. It's all in how you RP!
The scholar? It's an orphanage/research center sort of place, then...?
--- Locke is actually allowed to do research on the Tabula legally because the king of Odisse commissioned him to. The king has also graciously set aside space at the palace for Locke and the Tabula. His "lab" is not really so high-tech as to actually be called a lab. xD What Locke does is go around and collect Rasa shards with Aquinas's help and bring them to the palace where they manifest. Aquinas, strangely, is really good at collecting shards. xD
Statistics?
--- They will have statistics because there will be a sweet little battle system, where you have to do no math whatsoever on your part! But that means that you can only battle when there's a staff member to preside over you guys.
Are we allowed to get critique for entires in this thread also or just keep them to ourselves and hope for the best?
--- Umm... this is just out of courtesy but please do not critique entries that have already been submitted since that entries are not allowed to edited after submission and to avoid offending or putting someone down. That is at least until the submissions are closed and judging begins. Also do not ask staff members for feedback or critique on entries... some staff members are judges so yeah, you can probably guess why. You can ask others for critiques but you may want to keep that to your friends and avoid asking other contestants unless you really want their opinion. Getting someone to check your entries for grammar and spelling mistakes is all right as well... as long as the entry is you meaning that someone didn't write it for you.
