Stages

Meet Little Miss Sample, our official stages gal. She's the one in yellow. 8D
User Image

Stage 1 Charm
While strolling along one luverly day, you find a charm. 8D Well... actually it's more like a piece of jewelry. (But charm is such a cute word!! D=) It's vurry pretty, and no rich-looking old lady is wearing it. Doesn't look valuable, either. So... you keep it!
Stage 2 Clothing
It's been a while since you found that charm, and now you like wearing it. :D On a completely random note, some of your clothes are dirty. Into the laundry basket! (Unfortunately, when you take the clothes off, you don't notice that your charm came off with it... and it's now attatched itself to a piece of your clothing... D: )
Stage 3 Laundry basket
You can't find your charm anywhere. Wah! ;; And... now... there's a thing. In the laundry basket. .__. It looks like one of the clothes you put in the basket a while back. How very odd.
Stage 4 (This stage has no name yet! ;0; Go here, plz?)
The thing in the laundry basket has finally come out. You didn't actually see it come out but... it's out, okay? Dx So now it's strolling around the house. It doesn't speak English (although you get the feeling that it would if it wanted to, and it doesn't want to), but it's good at miming out what it wants. xD It's a bit bigger then a cat, and that's what it looks like, although it also bears an extraordinary resemblance to your missing clothes. Also, it has a few features from your missing charm... o__o;

Maybe Rosse made additional samples of the stages? 8O Here's where she'll put them.
Stage 1 one
Stage 2 one
Stage 3 none
Stage 4 none
About the Shop

Rosse figured she needed a post for this. 8D Little Miss Sample may be cute, but she sure does suck at giving you a good idea of what the pets here are like.

So in short... You have a bit of clothing. This (maaaagic 8D) charm attatches itself to the clothing. That may not do much now, but... once you put them clothes in the laundry basket? BOOM. The clothes and charm dissappear, and this thing appears. ._.

Anyway, the thing looks like your clothes. 8O The features of the clothes carry onto the thing. This could go quite a few ways. Say a shirt with white at the top becomes one of the things. The thing could have a long white stripe down its back, or bits of white all over it in a Siamese-cat-like way. And that's just the simplest! Maybe a shirt has a big button on the front, solely decorative. That could translate to a button on the things chest - like on the shirt - or somewhere bizzare, like its forehead or cheek. The dimensions of the clothing affect it too - if, say, the clothing in question were a pair of capris, the legs on the thing would be longer than if the clothing were merely a pair of pants. The same can be said for things like the tail - a thing from a pair of shorts is more likely to have a bobtail than a thing from a long-sleeved shirt.
Let's not forget the charms! While the charm doesn't affect the thing as much as the clothing does, it will leave its mark - a jewel on its chest, a swirl of metal around its ear, things such as those. Again, the places of those things can vary, along with the quantity. A thing may have two swirls of metal on it, even if there was only one bit of metal on the charm. The number of jewels, however, reflects the number that were on the charm.

The things don't have an official "species" name or whatever. ;; But they'll get one. Hopefully soon.
Roleplay

Not much to say about RP, besides the obvious don't godmod blahblah. ._. That's not what you put in an interest thread, anyway.

What I want to talk about is... required roleplay. :3

RP isn't strictly required here. Activity is another story, but it's not the one I'm telling. You see, each thing will get its very own journal in the guild. You have to make a journal entry for each of the first three stages, otherwise... the thing won't grow! D:

It's really quite simple, though. For the first stage, roleplay you (or your character) finding the charm. For the second, putting stuff in the laundry. For the third, seeing that thing in the basket. ._.; That's all. Once you've done that, your thing is free to move onto the next stage. 8D

However, roleplaying DOES have benifits. No elder stage or crap like that. BUT, the more roleplay you do before your thing's final stage, the more say you will have in what it looks like. See, the first and the second stage is all that's made before the thing is bought, so if you do it right you could have a hand in what it looks like. Perhaps you could do a real roleplay - you and someone else discussing those neat charms you found the other day, or perhaps WTF-is-in-our-laundry-baskets. Or more journal entries - your character admiring the charm for the first stage, wondering where the charm went for the second, or perhaps more WTFing for the third. If you already own one of the things, and a second one is still growing, any roleplaying you've done with the first WILL help the second, but not as much as roleplay connected with the second directly.

You may say, "but why shouldn't I just cram all the roleplay into right before the last stage?" Well, because since if you own a bunch of the things, they're all going to be with your character, right? And why would it make sense for one person to own a bunch of laundry baskets that all look different? ._. So, the basket that you see your first thing in is the one that ALL your things from there on out will be in, so you might want to have control over that. Not to mention that once you see a feature like ears or tail peeping out of the basket, that feature is SET. You can't change what it will look like in the fourth stage.

Some things, of course, I won't allow you to modify. Some things, no matter how much you've roleplayed, HAVE to stay true to what the clothes are.

Also, take a look at Little Miss Sample. See how generic her pose is? The more you roleplay, the more I might allow you some say on what the pose is.

One last notice.
The one thing you will ALWAYS be able to choose, no matter how little you RP, is your thing's expression. (although naturally, more RP = more complicated expression, but I tend to be nice there.)
The one thing you will NEVER be able to choose, no matter how much you RP, is your thing's eye color. I decide that, it's quite random and doesn't have to do with any other feature on the thing.
How Customs Work

Customs don't work here the way they tend to do. =D Around here, customs come in a piece-it-together sort of dealie. Choose a charm type, and a clothing type, or go all-out and choose cosplay.

Charm Types
Basic
A simple piece of jewelry, with one, maybe two jewels. Nothing too fancy. Little Miss Sample's necklace is an example.
Moderate
A more complex piece of jewelry. You can have more jewels, in fancier shapes. The first extra sample of a charm is an example.
Complicated
Now you can have anything you'd like! Intricate carvings and detail in the metal, many-colored jewels, you name it! No examples so far.

Clothing Types
Basic
A simple piece of clothing, with a somewhat abstract design and a couple colors. Standard clothing only, no fancy dresses. Little Miss Sample's sweater is an example.
Moderate
A more complex piece of clothing. You can have loads of colors, more specific designs, and things like frills. No examples so far.
Complicated
Now it can be as fancy as you'd like! You can have fancy prom dresses, things like that. Sky's the limit! No examples so far.

Cosplay Info
As one would expect, cosplays here aren't as they usually are in most shops. =D Cosplays include a custom piece of clothing and a custom piece of jewelry. The clothing can either be what the character usually wears, or you can opt for a more unique piece of clothing. However way you go, a cosplay will always have a feature from the original character (usually hair-like fur, or ears and tail if the character is an anthro, or something along those lines).
How Breeding Works

It doesn't. We haven't figured out a system yet. XD;;
Hiring
(well... not exactly)

In all honesty, when Rosse owns a shop, she can get a little possessive. XD; She doesn't really like working with other people. So... I won't be hiring any co-owners, thread or RP managers, guild managers, or even any colorists. I am, however, looking for guest colorists... because, in all honesty, I probably won't be able to keep up a unique-lineart shop for very long without some sort of help.

If you enter, you'll be on a list of those who did. If, after the shop opens, I ever need help or for any other reason want you to color for me, I'll PM you then and we'll talk. So basically you're just showing me how good you are.

I'm looking for 2 types of people. The first type will color the lineart I draw and give them. The second type will draw and color their own lineart.

If you enter as the first, take these lines (they're Little Miss Sample's) and color and shade them. DON'T edit the lineart. In your entry, I'd like you to show me the unshaded colored versions, and the shaded colored versions. Also, I'd like you to color the lines, just like Little Miss Sample's. =DD (note - the bright green is the jewel outline, bright red is the chain. I wanted some way for you to tell those two apart.)
You don't have to color all 4 stages, of course - only the 4th is mandatory. (Of course.) After that, I'd also like you to do the first, and after that the 2nd. The 3rd is only necessary if you'd like to do them all.

If you enter as the second, draw, color, and shade your own lines. Don't take anyone else's lines! DD; In your entry, show me the plain lineart, unshaded color, and shaded versions. Don't forget to color the lines!
What I'm looking for here is mainly the ability to style clothes. Rosse's not very stylish, so it's beyond anyone why she's plotted out this shop in particular. xP
If you enter under this, please do all stages. :3

This is important: All entries must be done in Paint or similar program! That is to say, pixels only. Fancy-schmancy Photoshop entries don't count. No fuzzy blurred lines here!

And yes, guest colorists get 100% of everything they color. X3

Hiring is OPEN! If you'd like to apply, just fill out a form and post it. <3 Or PM it, I'm not particular. xD

Getting a Guild

As you may have noticed, this shop needs a guild!

Soon, there will be games, or something, to raise money (because Rosse is a miser T3T;; ). For now, any donations would be appreciated? 8DD;;;
Naming

Our main species doesn't have a name yet. ;0; Sad, no? Rosse will be holding a wee contest to find a nice name!

To suggest a name, fill out one the form at the bottom of the post. Whosever name idea Rosse picks will get special sneak-peeks at things such as event plans for the upcoming shop before anyone else even hears about them! Very nice.

Species Name Suggestions
Launderettes Rosse Big Seagull
Because a launderette is a place where you go to get your laundry done and it's cute. XD But since they come from laundry baskets at home, this probably wouldn't work...
FabriCats pook666
"Cause, you know, it's like fabricate except like...fabric and cat."
Basketeers Rosse Big Seagull
Cos they come from baskets. ._.;
Baskitties A. NuEvil
"Laundry Basket...Kitties..."
Hampeties A. NuEvil
"Hampers, Kinda like baskets with the whole laundry thing..., Pets...."

Feel like suggesting some names? Fill out this form once for each name you've got, and post eet in the thread. 8D

Free pets? nowai

Interested in getting one of these before the shop opens? Read on!

First off, we have a wee trivia contest! =D All based off of info from the front page of the thread, don't worry.
The prize is a semi-custom pet! Absolutely free, naturally. :3
Entries will be closed once I get a certain number of entries. =D How many is to be decided. It's judged based on the number of right answers.
Please PM your answers to meeeee, Rosse Big Seagull~

The Questions
How many emotes are in Rosse's posts on the first page? Note that <3 counts.
How many "code" boxes are on the front page?
What is the name of the pet used for the sample stages?
What is the word used in the roleplay post to describe said sample-stages pet?
What is the one thing you will ALWAYS be able to choose about your pet's fourth stage?
What is the one thing you will NEVER be able to choose about your pet's fourth stage?
Fill in the blank: "Around here, customs come in a piece-it-together sort of ______."
In the feedback post, what does Rosse apologize for?
Name 5 of the colors in the laundry basket of the sample stages.
"8DD;;;" only appears once on the first page. What post is it in? (excluding this one~)
Last question (it's a bit of a trick)... How many different options are there for a custom pet? Excluding semi-custom.

8D~
Sneak Peeks

Perhape Rosse will choose to post something like banners or the cert, maybe even previews from the first flatsale. If so, they'll be up here!

But there are none right now.
