Story:

You've been walking and walking for what seems like an eternity, and you have found yourself in a field by a wall, a large fall covered with weeds. It looks like the remains of an old castle. You fish your way threw the vines and weeds, only to find a small, rickety old wooden door. You go to open it, but you find it is much stronger then it looks. After much struggle you finally manage to open the door, and open up to find…

The splendid beauty of the castle yard amazes you, but it doesn't look so wild as it should. You ask yourself "Maybe someone lives here..? Naah, it can't be.." But right when you get done doubting yourself, a dark figure looms over your shoulder.

You turn at the feeling of a presence behind you, and gasp at what you see, expecting great terror. You fall to your behind and stare up at the creature, who's Silhouette is only seen in the bright sunlight. It leans down and holds out a hand, and you see the beautiful face of a young woman, holding out her hand to you.

"Hello there, young traveler. How did you get in here? Oh well… doesn't matter. I'm glad to see another life out here other then my pets and keepers."

The woman helps you rise, and takes your hand, behaving as if she's known you for ages, and leads you into the castle. Up the stairs you go, until you are in a mighty high tower. You wonder why you didn't resist, but this woman seemed so kind and gentle, how could you not trust her?

Once you are at the top of the tower, she brings you to a table, and on it seems to be a busted up old chessboard, with the kings, queens, and two pawns from each side missing. The pieces look old and tarnished, yet they are amazingly intact. The woman looks to you and smiles, before lifting a pawn, and holding it out to you, a loving smile spread a crossed her delicate lips.
"You have been chosen. I'm so happy to see you are here at last."

The woman smiled to you kindly, and sat you down in a chair.
"Now that you have been chosen.. I must explain why you where drawn here, and the story behind our mighty chess peices."

"Long, long ago in the times of early civilization, when kings and queens still ruled the lands, and chess was just being introduced as a strategist way to fight a war. The first chess set was created. Sadly the person who created the chess set was an evil sorcerer, who casted a spell upon the pieces. The spell was to corrupt and trap the souls of the army and kingdom of the land.

Each set of pieces where given to two kingdoms, the kiiroi nichibotsu and the buru hinode. The Kiiroi Nichibotsu received the white set, because they where known for their righteousness and pure and honest ways. While the black where given to the Buru Hinode, for they where known to be ruthless, cold, and distant to the other kingdoms.

The two kingdoms normally got along peacefully, but after they received their sets, the kings became obsessed with who was the better player. Soon the two countries went to war, to see who had created the best strategies during chess.

The war went on for years, decades even, and sadly each and every one of the generals and their highest solders perished. Their souls where trapped inside the chess pieces, and where since then put under the guard of the Kuronaho family. They where locked away for ages, until I, the young Tenshi decided it was time to try and free their spirits. That is why you are here, and why you are the chosen…"

Yes, I may have many rules to my shop, but I am a rather friendly person. Please don't let them scare you away, I'm simply trying to be profesinal. READ all of these rules, and obey them, and we will get along just fine. I can be a b***h when I want to be.

Sales:</center>

Flat Sales:
Flat sales are handeled in essay mannor. Where you are given a prompt question and you diliver an answer in paragraph form. Apon winning you send 5k to me, Tenshi_Kuronaho.

There will be a total of 3 flatsales, each contianing four pawns.

If you want a black Check Mate, post your answer in the color indigo, and if you wish for a white Check Mate, post your answer in orange. That way we owners can seperate who's entering for what. ^^

Dureing a Flat Sale, a new thread will be created and then linked to in the main shop. Do not post your answers in this thread! If you post an answer in this thread, it will be ignored, and you will not recieve a Check Mate. Questions will be posted in the flat sale thread.

Raffles:
Should we come to a time where a CheckMate has become abandoned, it will be raffled off to a new owner. In the raffles they will last over a period of 24 hours and I will then proceed to use randomizer.com to select a winner.

Auctions:
In the Auctions, I will be giving out the higher pieces in chess. As in the Rooks, Biships, and knights.

I will auction them off in gender sets. Exsample: white female rook and black female rook

Note: Check Mates are a limited pet. There will be a total of 3 flatsales containing 4 pawns each. And then the auctions containing the 4 biships, 4 rooks, and 4 knights. Afterwards, there will be no other flat sales or auctions, unless someone abandons they're Check Mate.

A: If you happen to be lucky enough to win a flat sale or auction yes.

Q: What if I don't want my Check Mate anymore?
A: Well, your Check Mate will probably be saddened, but I shall raffle it off to someone who wants to give it a decent home.

Q: Is there a Limit to how many I can own?
A: Yes. You may only own two, otherwise it would be impossible for you to keep up with roleplaying and keeping both's journal.

Q: Will there be customs?
A: technicly, they are customs. You don't get to pick the animal, but as they grow, I'll ask you what you want them to look like, and I'll draw that to the best of my ability.

Q: But I want mine to look like so and so from this show!!
A: too bad, there will not be cosplays in this shop o-o I find it extremely difficult to keep a charecter from a show "in charecter" and I don't think anyone likes it when your favorite charecter is being role played wrong.

Q: Do you do pet trades?!
A: Yup! ^__^ I love pets, I love pets very much. If you own the shop on my list below, I will gladly make a pet trade with you. Or you can sugjest the pet to me, and I will look into makeing the trade with you. ^_^

Q: So and so got one and it wasn't from a raffle/auction!
A: That is probably because it was from a pet trade, or they where helpful in making the shop, or they are justy very good friend of mine.

Q: I hate you!!
A: I'm sorry. But please don't bring your angst to my shop. Whatever I did to make you hate me so, is your own problem.

Q: Check Mates takes so long to type, is there a nick name for them?
A: Well I haven't thought of one, but if you have one, feel free to suggest it.

Q: These cost so much!! Why?!
A: I put a lot of hard work into drawing the line arts, and then I have to spend hours, if not days coloring them.

Q: I'm on your black list and I've never done anything here or to you?! Why?!
A: That is because you've probably done something bad to one of my friends in their shop. I don't want you here if you've done something bad to my friends, so leave before I sick my many many rabid fanboys on you.

Q: But I deserve a second chance!!

Q: What's a Breeding Whore?
A: A "Breeding Whore" Is someone who gets a pet and immediately wants to breed it. Or someone who has a pet and puts minimal effort into Role Playing it, before wanting to breed it. OR someone who obsesses with breeding their Pets. These pets are meant for role-play and having fun, not for making more.

Q: I know you from such and such shop, and you wont give me one? Why?!
A: This could be for many reasons. such as the following. 1. You have done something to hurt my feelings or greatly anger me in the past. 2. I don't' know EVERYONE from the shops I stalk O_o 3. You could be a possible breeding whore. ^_^ I don't like breeding whores.

Q: Yo girl! what's up with them queens and kings?!
A: Well.. It seems the original owners could not take care of them, so I took them away and terminated them.. Now everyone goes by the kings and queens just haven't been summoned yet. So as of now I do not know what I will do with the kings and queens, but I wont give them to just anybody.

Q: Your Spelling and Grammar skills SUCK!
A: Yes they do. I'll admit it. But You know what I'm saying, and I don't talk like a n00b. No one's perfect. So back off. ^^

Journals and Roleplay:

Yes that's right, CheckMates are a dairy pet. This means upon receiving your Piece, you will also receive a separate thread all your own to role-play your pet in. Keep in mind these have guide lines and rules you must follow, but those will all be listed below.

Rules:
-You must post in your journal at least once a week. Unless you give me a good excuse for why you will be absent for a long amount of time-

-Nobody can post in another Check Mates Journal without the guardian's prior consent-

-Keep your posting in your journal PG13-

This is all for now for journal upkeep, I may add more later.

General Roleplay
Although I wont take your Check Mate away if you don't role play in the main shop, it is still greatly apreciated, and will aid in the growth of your check mate.

There are a few rules for general RP, and they are:

-All Roleplay will be in this thread-

-All other rules for the shop apply for role play. Accept for the 'you must post once a week'-

That is all for Role Play rules. I may add more later.

<center>Stages:

Check Mates have many stages that take place while you withdraw them. This section here is to explain to you about their stages.
Note: During the first stage the line arts will not change.

Piece Stage:

In the first stage your Check Mate will still be a soul trapped inside a chess piece.. They will glow in reaction to certin things, but other then that they don't do much, but they still need your love.

Extraction Stage:

You may have noticed a little creature peeking out from behind your peice, that my friend, is your Check Mate. They have become comfortible enough to come out. They're small enough to fit into the palm of your hand, but they'll get bigger!

Child Stage:

Your Check Mate has now started to take their original form agian, isn't that great? They apear to be children, but they are really the spirit that you freed from their piece. They are rather hyper dureing this stage, sence they can now do normal things agian.

Full Stage:

Congratulations! You managed to resurrect the spirit of your Check Mate! Your Check Mate won't grow after this, and it is now able to have children. This is the true form of the soul caught inside your chess piece.

Breeding:

Now for the part you all where waiting for! Do Check Mates breed? The answer is, yes, yes they do.

You see, when two Check Mates love eachother, they come together in an act similar to mateing. (do not RP this in description) After this act, a tiny bit of each of their souls come together and inhabit another peice. Don't worry, this wont harm your Check Mate.

Now in order to breed, you will have to fulfill some requirements, those being:

-You have a Check Mate that is an adult-
-You have Role Played the two you desire to mate together and show the process of their bonding-
-You have to have the money required to pay for it-

Breeding Cost: 3k or 3000g
What you can do with them: keep them (if you don't have two already), raffle them off, flat sale them, auction them, or give them to a friend (all with my permission)
How many kids per breeding: 2

All babies will be put into a new board. Or the "Second Gen Board". This meaning they will be in a new chess set, used to play a whole new game.

I will only accept two breeding pairs at a time, for it is difficult for me to find time to draw and color the separate line arts. Please be patient, it could take up to a week or two to receive your babies.

IMPORTANT: You may only breed your Check Mate once, so be careful when chooseing a mate and what you will do with it. I may change this rule later on, but for now this is how it has to be.

<center> Random Facts:

This Post is for random information I thought everybody might like (should) know.

Check Mates Class to Animal:
You may have noticed that Check Mates are anthromorphic beings, and you might have also noticed that the kings and queens are of different species. Now, some of you may wonder: "Do we get to pick what animal it is?" the answer is no. You do not pick what animal it is, and it is not picked at random.

It's simple really, the animals are sorted out by what I thought was a respectful animal for each class.

Pawns- Pawns are Cats and Dogs. Why cat's and dogs you ask? Because they are the most common/popular animal hybrid. Plus common housedogs and cats are rather week in stature.

Bishops- Bishops are foxes. They are Foxes because Bishops are often intelligent and are advisers to the queens and kings, and foxes are rather clever lil buggers.

Rooks- Rooks are Pandas. Now commonly Rooks are castles, and castles are strong. So I made the Rooks panda's because pandas are rather large, and very strong. They are cute and cuddly, plus have strong defenses, so it only seems fit, ne?

Knights- Knights are Horses. And I think it's rather simple to figure out why. xd Since Knights are horses in chess, I figured, might as well make the Check Mates Horses. But they don't just have horse faces, they are actually centaurs. Much like the other Check Mates they have animal like faces, but instead of normal hips and legs, these Check Mates Posses a horses body branching off they're torso.

Kings and Queens- Kings and Queens are pretty much customs. xd since they are so high in stature, I just asked they're owners what they wanted them to be, and they told me. That's why Maya is a cow, because I like cows.

Donations: (possible items to donateing owners or coupons? Dunno yet, but I'm thinking about it o.o )

Pet Trades: Yes, I will do pet trades. I love pets, I love them muches. You can ether make a pet trade with me by 1. Owning the shop and makeing an agreement with me. or 2. buy me one in a flat sale or flatsale(with my prior consent)
I especilly like pets that are black with pink markings (my trade mark) and anything Sesshomaru(from Inu Yasha) or Vanessa (the owner of the salon) I will also accept other minor cosplays. I have tons of people I like. e.e

Although, if you request a pet trade and I turn it down, please do not be offended. I have a limited amount of Check Mates, and it would be very unfair if I just traded them all out.

As of now the chances of be accepting a pet trade a very slim. For I am busy with the pets I already have. I will only accept pet trades if they are for offers so amazeing I would simply be blasted back in my seat.. Like a Fa'e. And Trust me, that probably wont happen. sweatdrop
