This account is the centralization for all information on this story that I am authoring, and my good friend is illustrating (we intend to collab to make it a manga). Eventually, I'm going to post it on fictionpress, obviously only the written copy. I already posted the prologue but it wasn't to my liking and I intend to re-write it eventually (which is why I'm not posting my penname). I just wanted to get this story's name out and about and get some opinions on it. Alta_Horatio is the name of this account and it is the name of the main character as well (sans underscore, obviously XD). In fact, my collab partner has named her account after the villian of the story and is dressing the avatar up as him (though the avatar has a female base.... don't ask :xp: ) [u]General Information[/u] [b]Genre:[/b] Fantasy [b]Setting:[/b] Erimentha (map to be posted in journal whenever my collab partner scans it in, as she currently has it despite the fact that I drew it lol) [b]Rating:[/b] T for mild language and some violence [b]Summary:[/b] These troubled times of war, violence, and unrest amongst the populus, there is need for a strong leader to see them through. For that purpose, the one who masters all elements of the Art shall lead the people as the Master User. Those with potential to be next in line for this once-in-a-century opportunity are sent to one of various Academies to be trained in the Art of their specialty (be it water or fire, light or dark, or one of the numerous other branches). Alta lives in a remote village, far from any academy, but despite his lack of proper training, he shows more promise than any other. Having been told this by a traveling Light User whose minor Art was Divination, he is on a quest to find and become apprentice to the Master User of this generation. But there is more to his destiny than just becoming the Master User... The very cause for the unrest that plagues the world is what lets Alta meet a cursed girl named Serafina and her elven protector, Ea. There is more to this curse than meets the eye, and more to Alta's journey than he may realize. Can the curse that is spreading across the land be broken? There is quite a bit of angst in this story, but there is romance and humor sprinkled in too, of course. A lot of the characters can really teach us all a lesson in life, I think... I've learned a lot about myself and about the world in general since I started thinking this story up.
