So you're looking to adopt a Cerebrus?

Cerebrus will become available for adoption every once in a while, and we will generally try to always have a pup available for anyone who wants one. Occasionally, we find new litters of pups in the wild, and will bring them into the agency to find homes. We will either sell them for a flat price or we will auction them to the highest bidder.

Also, Cerebrus will become available through the breeding center. The owners of the parents will be able to choose whether to auction or flat sale the new pups, or keep them for themselves, or give them as a gift.

In captivity, Cerebrus pups grow very quickly, and once they are at least a week old and have been settled into a new home for at least three days, they will begin to show behaviors that indicate that they are about to grow up. You will at this point see a colored ! on their certificate. You then must bring them in to the agency, where we will give them a check-up and some vitamins that will allow them to grow. If you do not bring them in by the time they are 3 weeks old, they will grow on their own, but you should keep an eye on them so they grow as healthy as possible.

Make sure you directly link to your Cerebrus puppy image so you get the notice that your Cerebrus is ready to grow up. After that, you may direct link if you need to.

One of our main goals here at the Cerebri HQ is the preservation of this species, and in order to make the species thrive, we are working to breed them.

We are also aware that some of these animals have hidden/recessive traits, that someday may be able to come out through breeding and special genetic treatments. In order to make these traits come out, we want to be breeding as much as possible.

Breeding requires one adult female Cerebrus and one adult male Cerebrus, both of which must not have been bred less than a week prior (they need time to rest). They also must not be full brother and sister (they can be half-siblings), and offspring cannot mate with their parents. In order to make this species strong, we need to encourage as much genetic diversity as possible.

The time for breeding can sometimes be very short, or sometimes it may take a few days for the pair to come to like each other.

exclaim The price for breeding is 1000 gold per pair. The owner(s) of the Cerebri are responsible for figuring out the payment.
exclaim The price for genetic treatments is an additional 500 gold per pair, but does not guarantee that your pups will have the hidden traits show up, it is just very likely that at least one will.
exclaim Please, only two Cerebri from each owner should be in breeding or in the waiting pen at a time, so that everybody may get a turn.

If you want to breed your Cerebri (whether with two you own or with another person's), come to this thread and check to see if a pen is open. If it is, post in the thread the following:
question The two Cerebri that are to be bred (And the numbers from the list below, please)
question Which pen you would like to breed them in
question What kind of food you would like them to eat (can be anything)
And plase send the trade with the gold to me immediately! I'll pass on payment to the breeder if it's not me.

After that, just wait and keep checking back until your pups are ready. The parents and pups will stay in the pen together until all the puppies have either found a home or gone to sale/auction. Your Cerebri will have between 2 and 5 pups, with 3 being most likely and 5 being very rare.

After Breeding:

Selling your Cerebri:
Once your Cerebri have had puppies, you have a choice as to what to do with them.
arrow You may keep them for yourself or selves. Post as to which pups are going to which owners. In the event that there are more than 2 pups, each owner may only keep one. This costs nothing.
arrow You may give them away as gifts. Post as to which pup(s) are being given to who. This costs nothing.
arrow You may flatsale them. Post as to which pup(s) will be flatsold and how much you want me to charge, and I will sell them in this thread. Half of the sale price goes to the shop, and half goes to you.
arrow You may auction them. This is entirely up to you to run. Post a link to your auction, and I'll try to get it up for advertising for you. Half of the final price goes to the shop, and half goes to you. Unless the price goes astronomically high, at which point no more than 5000 gold will be taken by the shop. We do not forsee this happening any time soon, but good luck to you.
arrow If you really wish to keep more than one for yourself, then you may do so for 1000 gold.

Once the Cerebri has found an owner, the owner should come here to name the pup, and the certificate will be made out with the name of the owner and the pup. Then, the pup will grow up just like for the parentless pups.

Akkhima's Keroberos is generally available for breeding when he's not too busy helping around the agency.

Brad-O-Mac's Verbal is just waiting for a good female Cerebrus to come along.

Violent Death Taker's Araburzum will breed with anyone as long as they are willing to breed with him. He is a fun and Caring 3-headed dog even though his cert says "Loner".

Leez0rz's Kazan is looking for a mate, even though he may be curious just about everything. He'll put a smile on his future pups.

Mizukino would like all the pretty young Cerebri ladies out there to know that her boys (Zehri, Taki, Yechiel, and Bumble) are always willing to make babies.

Adella Aerith's Nuinannowen, Shianne and Hunter are always open for breeding, as long as they are not breeding at the time. Watch out boys, Nuiannowen has quite an attitude.

Females

Akkhima's Shandra is young still, but she'd make an excellent mother.

Brad-O-Mac's Precious is looking for a mate that enjoys fun as much as she does.

Brad-O-Mac's Squeakums will happily mate with any good father.

Brad-O-Mac's Susie-Q is interested in breeding with another dog of any sort, except for one that's too serious.

Brad-O-Mac's Opal won't breed with just anyone, but your Cerebrus might be the one.

Mizukino would also like to say that her beautiful girls (Azure, Panzei, Kehari, and Eurelli) are always willing breed with a handsome lad.

Adella Aerith's Shuichi and Zeirco are always ready and willing to find a good mate. Perhaps they can warm that special female's heart.

question Huh? What is all this? What am I paying for?
exclaim Basically, you're paying for a little image to go in your signature. We call it a pet, because you can use it to roleplay and pretend it's yours. Once you own a Cerebrus, you can use it to breed with other Cerebri and make more Cerebri. That's about it.

question Can I reserve a flatsale Cerebrus before it goes on sale?
exclaim Nope. The first one to post that they are interested in buying after the pup goes on sale is the one that gets it.

question Can I reserve a pup from a breeding before it is bred?
exclaim You'll have to take that up with the owners of the dogs in the breeding... maybe they'll let you, for a price. But, it's up to them, so don't be annoying about it.

question Will you make me a custom Cerebrus?
exclaim Not right now... Maybe int he future, but our focus right now is on the rescue and breeding of existing dogs.

question Can I sell my adult Cerebrus to another person?
exclaim No. Just no. It loves you!

question Can I directly link to the adult Cerebrus image on your server?
exclaim Why yes, you can. Most pet shops don't let you, but it's fine by me. You may also not direct link if you want, but you won't get event notices.

question Can I edit my certificate?
exclaim You can resize it, if you want. You can also take the image of your Cerebrus off of the certificate to put it in a large signature image, if you want. But please don't go around with an edited certificate in your signature.

question What do the things on the certificate mean?
exclaim Name is the name of the Cerebrus, which you choose. DOB is the date the Cerebrus was born or found. Parents will list the Cerebri that your Cerebrus was born from, if they are known. Personality is a general roleplaying guideline. Owner is whoever owns the Cerebrus. Type will usually either be First Generation, meaning it had no parents, Scion, meaning it was from a breeding, or a special type if the Cerebus was, in some way, special. Colored By lists who did the coloring for the Cerebrus certificte, and under that is a copyright by me, because the outline and certificate are my art.

question How strict is the Personality of my Cerebrus?
exclaim It's pretty loose... your Cerebrus should never act against that trait, but it is not the end all for your pet. It is a trait we discovered early on for the pup, so it may not be prominent later in the pup's life, but it should never not be there.

question Can I come work for you?
exclaim I am not currently looking for more colorists, but if you want to try to really wow me with your creations, I'll consider it.

question What are the technical aspects of breeding?
exclaim I mostly use randomizer.org... I generate a string of numbers from 1 to 10, which I compare the first to a staggered chart of numbers of puppies. Then I use the rest of the numbers to determine male or female puppies, 1-5 being Female, 6-10 being male. The colors of the puppies is up to random chance. Genetic trait passing is a secret!

question You spelled it wrong! It's Cerebus or Cerberus!
exclaim Do you go whining that Faekat spelled Cat wrong? No, you don't, do you? It's like that, it's a creative misspelling.

question Ok, fine. So what's Cerebrus? Cerebri? Pup? Dog?
exclaim One of them is a Cerebrus. Two are Cerebri. Pup is a young one, dog is what I say for short when I don't feel like typing out Cerebrus.

question Which Cerebrus owner gets which pup?
exclaim If there is more than one owner in a breeding, that's going to be entirely up to you. You might want to decide beforehand who gets first pick, who might get extra pups, and how to split any money that you gain from pups that are flatsold.
