I think I'll try my hand at this, kupo.....
1. Name (If desired): ...Just call me Bohepans. Or...
2. A.K.A : ...'Bo' or 'Boh' for short.
3. Age: Almost 19 (Just give me two months...)
4. From: Texas, U.S.A., Planet Earth
5. When did you first hear about the Final Fantasy games: Erm, I'm guessing about, the summer between 7th and 8th grade. Aaahhh, memories...
6. Did anybody specific introduce you to the world of Final Fantasy: Yes, my best friend in real life, whom shall go nameless.
7. What was the first Final Fantasy game that you have played: Final Fantasy 7
8. What Final Fantasy games have you previously played and completed: FF 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, X-2
9. What Final Fantasy games do you own: 7, 9, X, X-2.
10. How long have you been playing Final Fantasy: By guess, about...erm...5 years. Perhaps a bit longer.
11. Would you consider yourself a favourer of the older Final Fantasy games or for the newer games: Probably newer. But I have nothing against the older games, seeing as I've only finished 2 of them and the rest, maybe started on ROM and that's it.
12. What Final Fantasy game(s) is you personal favourite (Please provide why): Final Fantasy X. Why? Though people complain, the featuring of real voices pushed it over the top, for me. I cried more tiems in FFX than any other FF games. A good storyline is probably one of the main reasons I play Final Fantasy games, and FFX just seemed to me to deliver the best of them all, evne if slightly confusing at times.
13. What Final Fantasy character(s) is your personal favourite (Please provide why): Well, deciding a single favorite would be tough; at least this one's open. First up, we'll have Auron. He had the coolest battle quotes, what can I say? And for outside of battle, he had the best words of wisdom. And he always seemed to know what was needed to be done, even if Tidus once accused him of sounding like an old man, true age not being considered. And hey, he was a legendary guardian. What's not to like? Then we have Tidus... Some accuse him of being whiny, some accuse him of being difficult. Really, to be honest, I didn't see much of that. Maybe a bit. Really, the reason I like him is because he's a lot like me. Soemtimes whiny, sometimes cheeful. Maybe tears come to him easily, but he's still strong, deep down. He can be a bit dense, like me, but still reliable. I have other favorite characters, but it's difficult for me to say exactly why they are.
14. Which games would you recommend to new players. (Please provide your thoughts): Well, perhaps Final Fantasy X. The storyline was a bit plotholed, but the battle system was very newbie-friendly, I think. I mean, the way turns are taken, you can really take your time and figure out exactly what you want to do, and see how much recovery time you'll have for taking certain actions. As well, pretty much everyone has a certain specific role, at first, in battles. That makes you more likely to raise everyone more balanced, in case you need a certain character's abilities later, or find yourself without a certain ally due to storyline reasons. I like this muchly. Towards the end, this slows up a bit, allowing you to not have to rely so heavily on certain allies. This, to me, isn't such a bad thing. I mean, at the beginning, it's good to get used to using all characters, wheras towards the end, it's kinda better to be able to not have to switch out characters for every battle. This is just my opinion, take it for what it's worth...
15. How long have you been participating in the Final Fantasy Forum? Well, I was here for a couple weeks, then gone for a while, and now I'm back again. Total time, erm, probably a bit over a month. Perhaps sitll a newbie, but already I've already made some friends. ^_^;
16. Which threads are your personal favourites and should be checked out by newcomers: Well, I only have one of these, but it has to be the "It's Character Hunting Season" thread. Heh, good for taking out your frustration on any Final Fantasy character you didn't like, good guy, bad guy, or even neutral guy.
17. What Final Fantasy games do you specialize in (Have the most knowledge about): Well, I'd probably say Final Fantasy X. I mean, I've completed two Single Character Challenges on it, of course using two different characters each time, even taking out all the Monster Arena creations. ...Well, at least the Tidus one, anyway; it's been a while since the Wakka one, and I can't remember if I ever quite finished up the Mosnter Arena in that one, but I still think it's quite possible. Anyway, yeah, I'd say FFX is my strong suit. ^_^; But I also have completed FF7 many times, and know a lot about that one, too. Maybe not as much as with FFX, but sitll a fair bit.
18. What Final Fantasy things (characters, bosses, storyline, strategy, etc) are you most knowledgeable about: Hmmmm, possibly strategy. I can farily easily defeat Ruby and Emerald WEAPON from FF7 without any KOTR or Mime business. Heck, I can defeat them without any summons at all. Trust me, it isn't so hard. And other enemies/bosses, I've also found a few unvonventional victory methods, here and there. With characters, erm, MAYBE I'd be good at explaining effective use, especially when it comes to FFX. Now, I know certain characters were sorta supposed to be assigned certain roles in battle, but there are ways to overturn that, even early on, as proven by the fact that I've been able to pull off a couple of Single Character Challenges. Bosses usually don't give me much trouble, but Ican attribute that to the fact that I level up a lot. ^_^; Storyline, uh, no. I'm horrible at expalining things, sometimes. n.n
19. What your best advice to Final Fantasy Forum newcomers and those playing the game for the first time: I'll tackle FF Forum, first off. First of all, be careful what you say around here. Flame wars can happen, no matter how many rules and consequences are set up against it. I personally haven't been hit by any, thank goodness, but I've seen it happen, so... Secondly, read those sticky threads first. If you make a thread that the sticky threads cover, oh dear, prepare to get flamed by the vets. I have nothing against the vets and all for telling people they shouldn't have made the thread, but I've not always seen it done nicely. So just be careful, okay? Thirdly, enjoy yourself! Some threads are mad in seriousness, but some are for fun (like the FF character hunting season thread), so kick back, relax, and stay a while. Now, for playing an FF game for the first time... That's a bit tough. First off, it's a but recycled, but yes, do save often. You never know if an enemy or boss will take you by surprise, of if you'll accidently do something like target your party with a spell or something that takes you all out. Yes, I know the latter seems silly, but I've done it before, and that really ticked me off. Secondly, speaking of that, be VERY careful when targetting spells and such. You don't want to accidently use an Elixer on your enemy, or a Death spell on yourself, or something. Trust me, it can happen. Thirdly, healing is important, but don't overdo it. You'll want enough HP to survive encounters, but don't heal everytime you take even 1 HP damage. When it comes to deciding between a healing spell or a healing item, it depends. For outside battle, healing items are better, as you dont have to worry about an enemy attacinkg you in the mean time. But in battle, healing spells are usually best, especially after a major attack, or after just reviving an ally. And on that note, let's move to revival of KOed allies. In any non-FFX game, reviving out of battle isn't so bad. Just use a Phoenix Down, some healing iteme, and you're on your way. In FFX, you don't even have to worry about that, as all allies are autmatically revived with 1 HP after battle. However, in battle is another story. When using a Phoenix Down to revive an ally, make sure you very quickly use a healing spell, or item if you'd really prefer, on the revived ally. Oftentimes, they aren't revived with very much HP, and won't survive an attack, so you'll want them healed quickly. And I think I've jsut about covered everything... Oh, one last thing. Enjoy the game! That's at least half the reason for getting a game, to have fun. So don't forget to.
20. What is your policy on NoOBs (Forum newcomers who do not read the rules): Since I'm not exactly a regular around here yet, I'm more tolerant. If I run into a newbie that makes mistake, and I'm the one who ends up having to correct them, I try to do so as politely as possible. Remember, folks, we were all newbies once, so we're all entitled to make a few mistakes without getting chewed on for it. Now, I do understand if someone is repeat offender of the same rule-breaking that they should be warned, but a total newbie that has only been on maybe a day or two can still forget a few rules, so I think they should be forgiven.
21. What are your hopes for the Final Fantasy franchise: Well, FFX-2 was a slightly disappointing sequel, but still had plenty of strengths. Really, I wouldn't mind more sequels AS LONG AS Square stays careful. X-2 wasn't a mistake, just a bit of an experiment, if you will. At least, that's what I think. Now, following this, I think Square should at least consider a sequel or so in the future, jsut as long as its done more carefully. Aside from sequels, well, I jsut have to say Square has yet to disappoint me, from the games I've played so far. Keep up the good work, kupo. No complaints from me.
22. Any last comments or other information that you wish to post: Yes, a couple of things, actually... One, I CAN be serious, but I can also be a bit random/hyper. ^_^; Please forgive me. But even despite this slight hyper streak, I can get defensive if someone wrongfully says ill of an FF charater I really like. n.n I try to keep strong emotions in check, but unwarranted insults can set me off on occasion. I only very rarely get mad enough to do anything...well...'explosive', I guess, so odn't worry about that. I'm just saying, is all, that I can get a bit defensive. I try not to, but it happens. ....Aside from that, not much else to say. I don't mind poking fun at some characters as long as nothing too serious is meant. I mean, heck, I even bumped off a couple of my favorite characters at the character kill thread. They're still my favorites, I was just having a bit of fun. Well, that's about it for me. Take care, ladies and gentlepeoples. And forgive any typoes I made. x.x I've been doing this for a couple of years and still can't escape certain typoes... ^_^;
