Everyone has heard of Angels, right? Most planets have these heavenly spirits, they just go by different names depending on where you roam! On Earth they're known as angels, guardians, watchers, protectors; they follow the guidance of a being they call their God.
Gaia, too, has it's own angels. Unlike Earth angels, however, these creatures are the very spirit of Gaia, it's Guardians. For centuries they were happy to protect Gaia and it's inhabitants, watching over the world and keeping the peace. They were praised and sometimes feared, and like all beings with the freedom of choice, some fell from their paths. There were other gaurdians to keep the fallen in line, however, and all was well in the world. As with all things, though, eventually people began to get used to their presence, angels were being taken for granted.
As magic and myth became more and more widely accepted, people began to care less for angels and more for the unknown dark arts and enchantment. The angels began to feel without purpose, and so they hid themselves from us and withdrew amongst their own kind. Before long the Guardians became mere rumors. Two hundred years have since passed since the last Guardian's presence was felt.

I've always known about angels, ever since I was a young girl. I can vaguely remember times when my mother told me stories before sleep; I heard all about the guiding forces that protected our small family. Still, it was a long time ago, and I had.... reasons for loosing my own faith in such creatures. I lost both of my parents in one night, during a storm at sea. From then on I moved in and began staying with my mother's parents. I was only six when it happened, and like many other Gaian's I began to focus more on my powers as a water mage, and believe less in the celestial.
Recently, however, I've come to wonder if maybe angels don't exist after all. I've made an odd discovery as of late, a strange "stone" that I quite literally stumbled upon during one of my walks near my childhood home.

It looks like an egg, obviously, but other than the apperance there isn't much other resemblance.
As I held what I assumed to be a relic in my arms it was almost like holding air, or a sheet of paper, there was no weight, despite how heavy it looked like it should have been.
That was how it all began. The emblem on the front seemed to mean something, and so I decided that same night that I had some researching to do.
