It is definitely the middle of nowhere. Nothing but leafy shrubbery and small trees as far as the eye can see, and a single, large, childish looking house right in the middle of it. There are no roads; there are no paths. Just plants.

The house itself is something to behold; it looks ripped straight out of a fairy tale; namely the one where two children stumble upon a house made completely of candy. The exterior is white, the accents are pink. The entire dwelling resembles a birthday cake, with a single chimney that could be a candle.

And then, there is the door. Painted dozens of brilliant colors with no rhyme or reason to them, it looks as if a child had dipped their hands into several buckets of paint and then drawn something of a pictoral diary entry. A single figure is repeated throughout the account, a small, happy looking being with stumpy legs, pigtails, and a prominant bump on the forehead. She is shown waking up, and then eating a breakfast of tasty fruits, getting dressed, going outside to play among the shrubs, and then then looking up at the sky as clouds form. It rains, and then the plants grow taller. Others like her join her, playing and frolicking in the rain as the plants around them are nurtured.

When it is all finished, they return, and at the bottom of the door, it shows her returning to a very LARGE being with pigtails. She eats dinner (more fruits), bathes, and then goes to sleep.

The pictures go around something at the bottom; something that appears to be a tiny door, right in the middle of the large door. This door is no more than two feet tall, with a clumsily painted word on it in shocking pink. "Anandra."

As if just being there summons her presence, the little door is flung open as the being from the drawings pokes her head out.

User Image

She stares upward, smiles cheerfully, and chatters something in a strange, baby-talk sounding language as she gestures frantically toward the big doorknob. She's inviting you into her home, eager for you to meet her friends and share her experiences.

The happy family:
Junyi: Owner, artist, colorist, everythingist. @_@
Anandra: Special helper, mascot... eye... candy?

There is an ancient Aeyan legend that says that when the world was created, the Flower Goddess Aey had created all of the plants on the planet at once. The process was exhausting, and the Goddess Aey couldn't nurture ALL of the plants in that state. So, with the last of her strength, she created helpers- Water-bringers. Their job was to bring the rain to the flowers, and to nurture and care for them.

As the Goddess Aey slept, the Water-bringers carried out their duties, multiplying in number and caring for the different kinds of plants in the world. And as they worshipped their Goddess of the Flowers, they gave themselves a name.

Aeya. From Aey.

The Aeya have since grown apart; developing preferences for which plants they nurture and banding together to form tribes. But all Aeya recognize their purpose and their shared traits, and all of the different tribes coexist peacefully, as cousins to each other.

Physical Traits:
The Aeya are a small, child-like species, and they are often referred to as "The Eternal Children." No matter how far they are into their lives, they always resemble very tiny children. No records exist of an Aeya growing taller than two feet, or shorter than ten inches. They are small and delicate creatures, and should be treated with care.

All Aeya are different, and the differences between tribes are sometimes so great that one might wonder if they're of the same species. However, there are some traits that ALL Aeya share. All Aeya have stumpy legs; like miniature tree trunks. There is an obscure legend that states that the first Aeya were created from the branches of a small sapling, but only a few Aeya know of it. Most Aeya don't question their features; their legs work just fine, and that's all that matters.

All Aeya are covered in a thin layer of fur, much like the fuzz on a peach. It's nearly impossible to see the hairs unless one is very close to an Aeya, but there is no question as to its existance if one reaches out to touch an Aeya. The fur is often patterned along the sides of the legs, but the patterns differ from tribe to tribe.

And finally, all Aeya have a large bump on their foreheads. Whether it used to be a horn or a bud is unknown, and their exact use is still a mystery, even to the Aeya. All they know is that when they touch it to a plant, it flourishes. There MUST be more to it, though...

Language and Communication:
The Aeya share a common language that sounds very much like the babbling of an infant, but there are many dialects that vary from tribe to tribe. They don't understand most human languages, but if properly trained, they can learn the basics without too much trouble. They can't form complex sentences in human languages, though, and their speech patterns (and voices!) will resemble those of toddlers. They are not telepathic, nor are they empathic, and their minds will not be able to comprehend such communication. (Just a note to all those psychics out there!)

Life-cycles and Lifestyles:
The Aeya live a VERY long time. So long, in fact, that none of them are sure if they would die if they aged enough. While they can be killed by injury or disease, none of them can think of one ever dying of old age.

And by that same token, none of them can remember a time when any Aeya were ever BORN. They know they had to have been born in order to come into existence, but they can't remember their birth, their parents, or ever growing up. They simply exist.

If a human wants to call an Aeya to become their companion, they must leave an Offering out for the Aeya. Offerings take a lot of time and effort to produce, and when made properly, glow faintly with the magic of life.

An Offering is left out among the plants. When it catches the interest of an Aeya, they will leave an indication that they had seen the Offering, and that they are interested in whatever left it there. Then, they will wait nearby for whoever left it to return. Note: This is the ONLY time I will require you to return to the thread and post (but preferably roleplay). At this point, you may ask the Aeya to stay with you as a companion in exchange for the Offering. If they accept, they will attach the Offering to their clothing. And then they're yours!

Aeya are herbivores; they will not eat meat. Ever. They prefer to eat fruits, but can be persuaded to try other foods. They do not like to eat unnatural things (So no twinkies).

All of what I just said, without the flowery mumbo-jumbo:
When you get your Offering, direct-link it. You will need to direct-link it, or else you won't be able to see if there have been any changes left by an Aeya. It will take about one week for this to happen. When you get your full-grown Aeya, please save it to your own server. Thank you.

Here you will find discriptions of the different Aeyan tribes and what sets them apart from the others. More will be added as more are discovered, so keep checking back!

User ImageRia:
When other tribes refer to the Ria, their strange metaphors liken them to what we could call "Vanilla". Average in height, average in build, average taste in clothing, and they bring water to the average plant. They have no distinguishing characteristics to set them apart from the rest of their race (Other than the fact that they have no distinguishing characteristics), but they don't mind. Their lives are simple, and their needs are simple to match.

Males and females tend to be similar in height, but the male will often have a lighter build than the female. Females are generally more outgoing and friendly than males, who tend to be shy and withdrawn.

Tutti:
Lovers of beauty, elegance, and other things of the sort, the Tutti tribe has been described by many as superficial. They are very particular about which plants they bring water to, and these plants are nearly always flowering fruit trees. They have long tails to help them better grip branches, and the Offerings they are most drawn to are those that resemble (you guessed it) fruit. They love beads and other shiny things, and often find themselves in competition with one another to see who has the MOST shiny things on their person.

Both male and female Tutti are shorter than average, with males being significantly larger and sturdier than females. However, personality varies very little between genders. To the other tribes, all Tutti act the same.

Tal'de:
The builders of the Aeya. All Tal'de carry a set of tools with them at all times, "just in case". They bring water to the tall, evergreen trees, and are equipped with wings to help them reach those lofty heights. They are very careful about harvesting wood for building projects, and take great care in their craftmanship. Many of them are also tinkerers, and are constantantly creating new contraptions... mostly for amusement.

Both male and female Tal'de are larger than average, but height and body type don't seem to vary TOO much between genders (Although the females do tend to have SLIGHTLY lighter builds). Males are usually more dominant than females, although neither seem to care who takes charge over whom. In general, the Tal'de are a lively, hard-working, and curious sort.

General Rules:
1. First and foremost: READ THESE. I'll be able to tell if you didn't. stare
2. Do not cause trouble. Do not troll, do not flame. This should be pretty self-explanatory.
3. Do not PM Junyi! If you have a question, ask in the thread. If you want to affiliate with me, ask in the thread. If you have a comment or complaint... you get the general idea.
4. Do not spam, please. I would also prefer you not bump. Advertising is right out.
5. Sending me gold when there is nothing on sale will be considered a donation. There will be no refunds. Thank you, please drive through.
6. This is MY art. I drew it, I inked it, I colored it. It's not much, but it's mine. Do not steal or claim it as your own, please.

Flatsale-Specific Rules:
1. Flatsales will start EXACTLY at the time they are scheduled for, EVEN IF I AM NOT HERE. They will go by the gaian clock. This is to give those on dial-up a chance, and to make sure flatsales don't go down in flames if something happens and I can't be there.
2. NO EDITING POSTS!!!!!111oneoneone This should go without saying.
3. No whining if you don't get the one you want, and don't whine BEFORE flatsales or threaten others who are going after the one you want. That's just poor sportsmanship.
4. One Offering per person. If you buy for a friend, you can't get one for yourself AT THAT sale.
5. First come, first serve. And no reserving.
6. You must declare which offering you are going after BY NUMBER. No "I want one!" or "I want the blue one!" posts. If you do not give me a number, I do not give you an Offering. If you are beaten to it, you may post again and try for another, if it is still available.
7. ONE AT A TIME, PLEASE. No posts like "Number X, and Number Y if X is taken. Sorry. sweatdrop
8. Payment is due IMMEDIATELY (in pure gold, please) after the winners' list is announced. Do not make your own list.
9. I reserve the right to refuse to sell (Like if someone is being a butthead), but I will ALWAYS give a reason if I ever choose not to sell to someone.

Auction-Specific Rules:
1. Do not whine, threaten, or make sob stories designed to discourage others from bidding against you.
2. No editing or retracting bids.
3. If you do not bid or express interest before thirty minutes before the end of the auction, you may not participate in the final bidding. This is to help prevent sniping.
4. The only items I will accept are donation letters and items, and they will be taken at MINIMUM GEN value. No more than twelve items in a bid, please. (NOTE: I do not accept April or May letters or items)
5. Payment is due immediately after the auction ends and the winner is announced.
6. I reserve the right to refuse bids, but I will always give a reason for doing so.

Raffle-Specific Rules:
1. All tickets cost 100g each, at a maximum of ten tickets per person.
2. Buying for friends IS allowed.
3. Do not argue the results. I use randomizer.org for, and I will post a screencap of the results. If you don't trust me (or the screencap), then don't participate.

1. PREVIEWPLZKTHX?
User Image User Image
On the left, a male Tutti. On the right, a female Tutti. These are just the sketches, and I plan to have the lineart finished, colored, and ready for sale by the end of the month.

2. Only two forms? That's kinda lame.
Maybe so. But these are but one tribe of the Aeya. When other tribes are discovered, there will be new and exciting breeds to be adopted. In plain English: there will be different linearts. Eventually.

3. Wait... TRIBES?
Tribes. Aeya might be child-like little beings, but they do form societies. The offerings for sale now only catch the interest of one tribe. When Junyi or Anandra figure out ways to entice members from other Aeyan tribes to come forth, then you'll be the first to know. Anandra and the Aeya currently up for adoption are of the Ria tribe.

4. So how do I get an Aeya?
Stick around for a flatsale or wait for an auction or raffle. The flatsale price is 2k. If you hang out in the thread often and play well with others, I might end up giving you one. Begging does not get you Aeya. I might be persuaded to do a pet trade; depends on the pet, and please don't be disappointed if I turn you down.

5. How often do I need to role-play my Aeya?
While role-play will certainly be encouraged, I'm not going to take your Aeya away if you don't role-play it. Role-play is optional. If you just want something to sit in your sig and look pretty, fine. Stick it on your shelf and never look at it again. Just obey Gaian sig laws, please. However, Aeya that are NOT role-played will not be able to create offerings (read: breed). This will be explained in the Breeding section.

6. How many Aeya am I allowed to have?
I originally had a rule that said only one Generation 1 Aeya per person, in order to make things fair for everyone. I have CHANGED MY MIND. There will be many tribes in the future, and it would be unfair to force someone to have only one Aeya. Because of this rule, I will start having Newbie flatsales, raffles, and auctions, where only people WITHOUT AN AEYA will be able to buy. This seems like the fairest solution to me. 3nodding

7. May I make a journal for my Aeya?
Of course! I will not set it up for you, though. Make it yourself, section it as you like... But Anandra requests that she have the last post in your setup (If you take up the whole page, that would be post 15) so that she can leave little notes for you and your Aeya.

8. How can I get a custom Aeya?
Periodically, I will auction (or sometimes raffle, I suppose) custom Aeya. You specify everything about the Aeya EXCEPT the following:
- Pose (I'm not a good artist; let me have my generic poses!)
- Armor (Only ONE tribe will wear armor; I'm sticking to that!)
- Weapon (See above)
- Tribe (All custom Aeya WILL NOT HAVE A TRIBE)

Based on the description you give me, I will make an Offering that I think suits it best. If, for example, you want a DBZ Aeya, it would come from a Dragon Ball.

9. Do you do pet trades?
Yes and no. I do not have a specific wishlist of pets I'd like, but I do have pretty bizarre criteria for a pet I will accept for a trade:
- The pet must be an RP-OPTIONAL or LIGHT RP pet. I am a busy Junyi, and I have as many RP pets as I can handle. You may offer an RP-heavy pet, but be aware that I'll be more likely to turn it down unless it is AWESOME.
- The pet must be of decent quality. I know I'm not one to talk as far as quality is concerned, but I am extremely picky about the art I accept. Please do not be offended if I reject you on these grounds; I just want to make an even trade.
- The pet must be something I LIKE. (So very important.) Look at the pets I already own (in my sig randomizer) to see what I tend to gravitate towards as far as pets go. I prefer humanoid pets, but I will consider others, as I might have friends who would enjoy the pet.

Okay, so your pet fits these criteria. What kind of Aeya will you get in return?

If it is a "standard" version of the pet in question, I will trade a Ria tribe Aeya. You choose the colorings/markings.

If it is an uncommon/unusual version, you will have your pick of existing tribes, along with colorings/markings.

If it is a rare version, you will have your pick of existing tribes, and I will modify the lineart to match the rare pet you are trading. f I get an Angelic pet, you will get an Angelic Aeya. You still specify the colorings/markings.

If it is a custom, you will get a custom. Everybody wins!

Please keep pet trade requests in the thread. All PMed pet-trade requests will be directed to the thread (if I'm feeling nice) or deleted (if I'm not.)

Breeding is currently: CLOSED!

In order to be eligible for breeding, an Aeya has to be owned for at least two weeks AND have been actively roleplayed. The Aeya does not have to RPed IN THIS THREAD, but if you have been RPing it elsewhere, please provide me with a link so I may verify this.

A breeding Aeya has two options for producing offspring. The first, and most obvious, is Cross-Pollination. The specifics are slightly obvious, and two offspring will be produced. They tend to resemble their parents, although there will sometimes be surprises.

The second is Self-Pollination. One Aeya will be able to produce one offspring. The offspring will always be the same gender as its parent, and will bear a closer resemblence to the parent than with cross-pollination.

All breeding will take one week to complete.

Cross-Pollinating will cost 3k (1.5k from each parent)
Self-Pollinating will cost 1.5k

Breeding Slots:
1. -CLOSED-
2. -CLOSED-
3. -CLOSED-
