The Kids
Katurian and Michal - Smerdle
Legacy: The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Legacy's Name: Katurian
Legacy's Sex: Male
Legacy's Ability: He can animate the inanimate. How big the object is he can move really depends on how tired or distracted Kat is, but let's just say that at about 13-years-old, with a full night's sleep and no outside worries or distractions, he should be able to get a dead stallion dancing. As long as the thing never had a life force of its own or doesn't anymore, he can move it.
He can't make things float or anything, but if the object has wings or is light enough to catch in a breeze, he could probably get it to fly around a bit.
As an adult, he will be able to sort of "program" objects to continue doing things he tells them to, even though he's not around to monitor them. He can't do that as a kid/preteen, I'm just throwing it out there so when he does it in the future, no one accuses me of... stuff.
Legacy's Personality: Katurian is a space case, but he's certainly used to people listening when he contributes to a conversation, simply because he does it so rarely. When he makes the effort to participate and people aren't at least civil, he shuts down a bit and becomes silent. Unless he's in mortal danger or Michal is upset or nervous for some reason, Katurian generally doesn't care too much about anything except praise and things that are directly related to his personal happiness. He's needy, and does best with people who are nurturing and complimentary.
Legacy's Appearance: Breakable. Tall, thin, and pale, with messy light brown hair. Pale blue eyes. Strange, fibrous broom-like 'wings' that stick nearly straight up out of his back/shoulders. Pointed ears.
Key's Name: Michal (pronounced just like Michael)
Key's Species: Hyena
Key's Personality: She is the crazy-intuitive sneaky spy to Katurian's spacey apathetic weirdo. Think the hyenas from The Lion King, except actually brainy. Michal is dangerously curious and loves attention, even the negative sort.
Key's Appearance: A regular-looking hyena, only much smaller. Katurian dresses her up sometimes, as if he's a male, pre-incarceration Paris Hilton, and Michal greatly enjoys it.
Special Traits/Talents: Katurian and Michal have a tendency to speak like those creepy twins depicted in movies and books do, that is, one starts a sentence and the other finishes it. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but only other Keys can hear what Michal is saying, so Katurian comes off as kind of crazy. If one says "What?" enough times, Kat can usually remember to knock it off.
Katurian likes boys. Michal likes boys too, although she doesn't appear to follow any rules of actual hyena puberty, acting like a rambunctious child well into Kat's teen years.
Katurian and Michal have been known to play a mean game of Sudoku.

Kin and Adiel - Bloody Anubis
Legacy: The Golden Calf of the Israelites
Legacy's Name: Kin
Legacy's Sex: Male
Legacy's Ability: Makes soil fertile, plants grow, and the weather conditions good. Basically he’s really good for gardening.
Legacy's Personality: Attention whore. In a nutshell. Kin wants you to look at him at all times, and hang on his every word, even though most of the time they may be worthless. Because of this, the boy is prone to acting out. He is fool-hardy, boisterous, and quite vain. His confidence is somewhat annoying, but in no way is he a mean child... He’s quite sociable, wanting to play the big brother or just over-all someone to look up to. He deliberately hunts down the outcasts, the loners, and the shy ones to make contact. Kin wants to be well known. Escape is not an option.
When he becomes older, he’ll have learned a lot from Adiel and will have mellowed out quite a lot. He’s still goofy, more than a little spoiled, and still very vain. A very bratty young ‘god’.
Legacy's Appearance: Golden. That word basically describes everything about Kin’s physical appearance. His hair is a dull golden blonde, his eyes are yellow, and even his skin seems to have a glowing gold sheen to it. At first he’ll seem like a normal boy aside from a whip-like yellow calf’s tail and his rambunctious attitude. As he grows older and his hair gets longer, horns will grow from the sides of his head and curve upwards like a bull’s, then curve again a bit at the top. The overall view is very ornate, and by the time he’s a teen he’ll be braiding his hair and whatnot because it’s so long.
Key's Name: Adiel
Key's Species: Horned Sand Viper [Picture]
Key's Personality: She is not an entity to be molested or tried. Having to be the key to a rather rambunctious and perhaps insufferable boy, she will have more tolerance and will be more at ease compared to the rest of her kind. Still, she is dangerous and not to be thought of as a tame animal; anyone who thinks as much might just receive a nasty bite worthy of hospitalization. She is wise, as most serpents are, and deceptive too. Her pretty words are there to tempt and confound, and to whisper some of the worst judgements into the ears of those who listen, even her legacy. Make no mistake, though- most of the times her fangs are her argument!
Key's Appearance: Her scales are a sandy gold in appearance, and though the rest of her kind possess spots on them, she is solidly that one color. Twin, devilish horns arch over her eyes. Her ‘key’ form will be as an engravement in a golden discus that can be inserted between the heirloom statue’s horns. Once she and the child are free, she will be a fully grown snake. She’s about 4 ft. long, maybe less. Another pic here.
Special Traits/Talents: For Kin, the boy is a bit stronger than any average man, and very sturdy though he isn't very large. He can get smacked around...a lot? Hell, he could probably get hit by an SUV and crawl away with only a few fractures. Good, since any normal kid would have killed themselves doing what he does.

Lily and Pheres - Lithle
Legacy: Medea
Legacy's Name: Lily
Legacy's Sex: Female
Legacy's Ability: Poison affinity. Lily shares an affinity for poison with her past self. She can sense natural poisons, be they from animal or plant. Synthetic poisons, like bleach, do not call out to her. Her affinity allows her immunity to poisons (again, as long as they're natural), though large enough doses will make her ill.
Legacy's Personality:
Child: Here, at last, is a Lily that can learn from experience. Having spent much of her time as a toddler in trouble for her fits and back talking, she now keeps her voice down. Lily as a child is quiet, soft spoken. In doing this, she does not become less intense. Instead, she nurses her passions close, and in doing so, makes them that much more sacred. Her loves and hates are secrets that she studies in the dark, giving them strength, building them up in her mind but never expressing them aloud. She still devotes herself to her friendships, but she no longer screams when she feels slighted. She watches. She memorizes the person she imagines her friend might be leaving her for. She remembers that person, for later. She knows that in time, she'll be strong enough to hurt them. They will get what they deserve.
She is not a generous child, though one might be deceived by how much she willingly gives to those she cares about. It's best to look at her treatment of those who don't earn her favor instead. They receive nothing for her. She will not share her toys. She is reluctant, even, to share her time, hanging back from strangers in a manner that might be received as shyness. In truth, it is the desire to be elsewhere, doing more important things.
Teen: Lily's teen years are an emotional firestorm, best avoided by those who have the ability to run for cover. While she retains some of the brooding quiet from her childhood, she's also achieved an age where she can actually do something about those who she feels have slighted her. She'll nurse her hurts, for days and weeks, until she decides the best path of attack. As a result, her fury often seems to come out of nowhere. Her methods depend on the situation. She's not above leading a boy on and breaking his heart if he angers her. She's also not above a direct physical assault, when she feels she'll have the upper hand in the situation. As to her aptitude with poisons, well, the best that can be said is that she probably won't try and kill anyone, only cause temporary illnesses. While she does her best to keep free of the consequences, it's likely that she'll still find herself in trouble when she's caught exacting some of her petty vengeances. While her guardian, Lithle, is vengeful in her own right, she does have a strict moral code she tries to constrain Lily with. Lily, unfortunately, is not particularly interested in accepting any constraints.
Another important development of Lily's teen years is her emerging interest in the opposite sex. Hormones hit like a punishment from the gods, vengeance for her mean spirited actions. When Lily falls, she fall fast, she falls hard, and there is no way out. She becomes the worst type of lovesick, following the object of her affections from a distance, or leaving anonymous notes and gifts. Simply put, she's a stalker by nature. She is incapable of seeing flaws in a boy she's fallen for, building them up on a pedestal and worshiping at its base. The intensity of her desire tends to leave her burnt out, withdrawn and not nearly as vindictive as usual. She simply fails to notice all the little slights that usually infuriate her. It takes a lot to break her out of her worship. Forced separation, extremely cruel treatment received from her crush, or some fantastically new shiny person might just do the trick, but it is a hard rough road letting go, and bound to be accompanied by tears.
Legacy's Appearance: Lily's skin color leans slightly more toward tan than it does white, she's not dark skinned, but she certainly wouldn't be called pale. Her hair is a mess of dark curls. Her eyes are pale green, but her keen interest in everything gives them intensity.
Child: As a child, Lily is shorter than average. Weight still hangs about her form, not to the point of obesity, but enough so that she'd certainly never be described as skinny. On the bright side of things, her size and shape means her brother's clothes are no longer suitable, and she's finally allotted a wardrobe of her own. She's usually found in dresses, or at the very least long skirts. She likes warm colors, reds, yellows and oranges. Her face shows clearly her every emotion, her eyes dim or burn with the passing of feelings. Auburn hair now reaches beneath her shoulders, nearly to the middle of her back. At threat of having her head shaved, she has learned to care for it. It is still a mass of tight curls, but it is no longer a mess of tangles.
Teen: From child to teen, Lily only gains a moderate amount of height, still placing her below the heads of most her peers. While she receives little in the way of inches, her teen years do make their mark on her form. Put politely, she is well endowed. Curvy. More frankly, she has a large bust and wide hips, weight shifting to give her a womanly figure. She still clearly carries extra pounds, but she carries them well, she is a voluptuous and attractive young woman. As to clothes and hair, it's too far into the future to see.
Key's Name: Pheres
Key's Species: Poison Dart Frog
Key's Personality: Pheres exists in a state of eternal frustration. This has little to do with his natural disposition, and everything to do with being left to cope, day in and day out, with Lily. He tries to be her voice of reason. In his early years, he does this by playing the optimist, but as Lily grows, and grows more stubborn, he becomes less optimistic and more argumentative. He and Lily are almost always bickering, as he attempt to keep her from doing, yet again, something she's bound to regret. This will, with luck, change some once Lily hits youth and starts attempting to act more civilly. At this point, Pheres will be indispensable, her calm reminder of her goals. Though the two of them argue, there is a lot of love between them. Pheres is, by nature, affectionate and kind. He wishes to be friends with the other keys, but finds himself too busy apologizing for Lily's behavior to make polite conversation, more often than not.
Key's Appearance: Pheres is a yellow banded poison dart frog, and a very attractive member of that species. He will, like most frogs, go through a few stages, corresponding with Lily's growth.
Child: At this point, Pheres is more frog than tadpole, and has his bright yellow bands and dark blacks. His tail still remains, though it's smaller than it was.
Teen: Pheres achieves full growth, with no remaining evidence of his tadpole features.
Special Traits/Talents: Pheres is, unsurprisingly, an excellent swimmer. He's also poisonous, so it's a good thing that Lily is immune.
Important Concept Detail: There are no further specifics that need to be mentioned here.

Money had always been tight in Russell Smerdle's household. When Katurian had grown from an awkward kid into an awkward young man in what had seemed like a matter of days, it had been obvious, even to the scatterbrained Legacy, that finding a job would be the right thing to do. All right, so maybe it had been Michal's idea.
The helpful and patient people at Pet Mart had first hired Katurian as a stock boy. They had no problem with his miniature animal companion, but they did find fault with Katurian's seeming inability to restock popular items in a timely manner. When pressed, the boy had been certain he was doing his job and could describe, down to the clink the cans made as he shelved them or the slip of a bag of kitty litter against his palms, a job he was performing in daydreams. Michal's plaintive puppy eyes and Kat's genuine confusion had earned him a demotion rather than getting him fired outright. In his new position it was much easier to determine where he had left off when his mind came back from wandering. Cages were either clean, or they weren't.
Surprisingly, today was the first day Kat had taken an active interest in doing anything work-related. On a whim he had decided to use his magic to clean, and no one had scolded him for it. He was currently sitting on a stepladder out of the way of the most frazzled customers, scrubbing a brush around a dirty bird cage with a lazy wave of one hand, while scratching a drowsy Michal between her tiny ears with the other.

It'd been months now, since Lily had started at Pet Mart. Originally it hadn't been by choice. Lithle, who had never made any of her other charges get a job, had announced (admittedly, somewhere in the middle of one of their screaming matches), that if Lily had time for her poisons, she had time to work. There had been more screaming, after that. But now, she worked.
Pet Mart had been an obvious choice. Animals didn't annoy her nearly so much as people, and the management didn't mind that Pheres stayed perched on her shoulder at all times. She even liked the job, sometimes, she liked the snakes and the urgent wiggly bodies of the puppies. She didn't much care for the rats and things, but overall, it wasn't so bad. She just had to make sure she kept her distance from most the customers. And, didn't poison anything.
For now, her task was feeding the reptiles and toads, one of her favorite activities. A small box of crickets in one hand, she made her way toward the back, where the terrariums were. On her way to the back, she passed Kat and noted that her co-worker was actually doing his part for the changed. She lifted her free hand in a wave, and then stopped for a second to watch him. Now that was a cool ability. Even if it wasn't a very cool use for it.

Unlike either Lily or Katurian, who had been forced to come here, it was by Kin's choice that he was now stocking Pet Mart's numerous shelves and sweeping its aisles when he wasn't. Money in Sibuna's house was also tight, but it was not the reason that the young pseudo-god shouldered responsibility in the form of heavy boxes full of carpet pee-removal. That was Daemyn's job as the eldest boy, to pity their mother dearest and keep the cable -and the electricity, for that matter- flowing in their home. Not that Sibuna wasn't thoroughly terrified of both... but that was a story for another time. Right now it was all about him. It was always about him. That's why he was here now. Kin's needs for clothes, style, and entertainment exceeded the budget of a small-time diner waitress more than twice over. She wouldn't have said a word until they were pushing carts full of their possessions through the countryside, of course, but he knew. After the iPod, Daemyn had berated him well enough and left quite a lasting impression on his ribs to remember it by. Stop his frivolous life-style, or buy his luxuries himself.
Kin worked to earn himself all that he didn't really need and to satiate his boredom until he got it. This Pet's Mart had been the first place he found in the paper that just might accommodate Adiel. As insufferable as she claimed the boy to be, she would not be without him for long. It was lucky for the both of them that his employer wasn't exactly well-versed in exotic snakes from Egypt, and that the former legacy could effectively convince them that she was perfectly docile. Even now she was coiled about his neck, her mouth set close to one of his ears so that she could whisper into it any time she deemed necessary.
Also unlike Lily and Katurian, Kin was quite new to this pet haven. To be matter of fact, it was his first day on the job. So far, it had consisted of one of the other stock boys pointing out where everything was and Kin only half-listening as well as chatting it up with a pair of cute girls who, no, did not want to see his snake. He had restocked a turnstile of informative pet books that were thick enough to kill a small child, and mopped up a spill he didn't want to know the identity of (but smelled suspiciously like chicken soup and amonia). If his supervisor were to check on him now, he would find the young man wandering out of the back room, juggling multi-colored hamster balls and humming a cheerful little show-tune to do it by. Unaware that he would receive an audience, but hoping for one all the same, he wandered into the not-quite-a-scene between Lily and Katurian.
When he did spot them, the cycle of juggling picked up a bit, a cocky but warm little grin spreading across his golden features. He was probably something of a sight, with a pink plastic hamster ball fitted between his horns and three more differently colored ones spinning through the air in a continuous circle. His hands moved routinely along, in smooth succession. This was a trick he often did with the various fruit that Sibuna insisted he eat before the week was up lest he get cancer or scurvy, presented in the form of a quaint little basket she had probably made herself.
"Hey guys," He greeted them casually in the stead of his humming. Those yellow eyes took in Katurian, then flitted to Lily to give her the male's obligatory slow once-over and brow arch, then back to Katurian's magical scrub brush. "I didn't interrupt something, did I? Anyway, do ya happen to know where I can shelf these? That's a cool trick there, guy, by the way." All the while juggling. Adiel's slitted eyes slid silently over the four others, her forked tongue slipping out lazily to taste their scents then dismiss them for the multi-colored balls her charge manipulated. How wistfully she did imagine that they were filled with the rodents they were intended for...

As Lily approached, Michal's head snapped up first, as alert now as she had been apparently tired seconds before. Hi, she said, sure that if the girl with the creepy eyes was here, then so was her frog.
At the sound of his Key's voice in his head, Katurian looked up, aiming a wave back at Lily just as hers stopped. His hand dropped lightly onto Michal's head, as if physical force would keep her silent, and his eyes flickered to the... very shiny boy who was getting closer by the second. "Hey," he managed, watching the hamster balls as they alternately fell into and were thrown by Kin's dexterous hands. "Thanks," he said in response to the compliment, the words coming easier now that he was actually paying attention. He twitched his fingers and the merrily scrubbing brush abruptly stopped its scrubbing. Katurian's eyebrows raised in momentary confusion before dropping back to neutral territory. Was that juggling magic too? Should he return the compliment? What had the other boy just asked? Katurian remained silent, unsure which of the many questions swirling in his head he ought to answer first.
Aisle eight, Michal said cryptically, hoping to interrupt her bond's confused thoughts. She squinted at Adiel, trying to determine if she was just a regular snake or a Snake snake. What were the odds that three of them would come to work in the same place? Well, at least one thing was for sure - that snake didn't have an ounce of fashion sense. Michal was uncharacteristically naked today, but she did have a jeweled necklace draped around her shoulders that glittered prettily when she moved. It had once been a prize in one of those plastic vending machine bubbles, but no one needed to know that.

Pheres was indeed there, a flash of yellow and black peeking out through the mass of Lily's wild curls. At Michal's greeting, he made his way down her arm, perching on her conveniently upturned hands. Hey, you! He sent the greeting with all the enthusiasm he could manage. Sure, Lily might run on fire and ice, but there was always the hope that his friendliness could make up for it.
And then... Lily saw Kin. He was shiny. Shiny. And a snake. And SHINY! Lily smiled, could not help but smile, a sudden undeniably predatory grin. She stood up a little straighter, her closely cut clothing showing off her rather generous assets. Sure, Lily wasn't pretty, but she was sexy in a blatant, unpracticed way.
"Oh, you must be the new boy!" She managed, before the very fact of her attraction to the boy completely hit her. Cheeks flushing, she stepped backward nervously, looking to Katurian for any form of guidence. "Has anyone... I mean... did you get... can we show you off... erm... I mean... around?"

With keen interest, Kin watched the exchange between frog and hyena, and less so on what he was juggling. How odd, that the tiny creature would crawl closer into the midst of something that could easily eat it if the fancy happened upon them. But then, the young man also noticed that it was the type of frog that he'd seen in highschool biology. If it was so, though, how was the girl holding it?
It ended up being a scramble to catch the balls that had suddenly become chaotic as to just what path they were going in. Two were snagged by each arm, but with eyes that never exactly displayed panic, the boy watched as the third took its decent to the floor. It'd surely make a clatter when it hit. If it hit. At the last moment, the boy jabbed out a sandaled foot (he was planning to go swimming after all this) and hooked the ball in the small space left between his bent foot and shin. Balanced like that on one foot, the golden calf gave a winning sort of grin that was meant to try and convince that he wasn't a total fool. Adiel flicked her tongue impassively- she might have liked to see him fail in front of a crowd.
"I am! The name's Kin, by the way," Lily received a wink, more out of habit than of anything. He refrained from tilting his head at her blush, for the ball between his horns would have likely spilled out. Was she impressed with him? Was the other boy? And when she began to jumble her sentences, he took pity on her, a warming sort of smile stretching his features. It was a reassuring sort of thing, and he directed it at the both of them as if they were the newbies and he were the veteran that decided to be kind.
"Only the back room and the aisle I've been directed to. I think I'd like that very much...." His attention focused on Katurian purely, "If you don't mind, that is? I'm not messing up your work patterns, am I?" Though he would have anyway even if they had tried to shoo him off. Adiel hefted her head slowly, maw parting slightly as she murmured the aisle number of the product he already had with him, for he had easily forgotten. She was the ornament, to be matter of fact, and even though she was not your normal sort of servant, she rather thought herself as a grand and terrifying thing to look at. And when she looked at Katurian, she did not see the sparkly necklace as anything more than something particularly nasty to digest.

Michal wagged her tail like the puppy she thought she was and hopped in place when she saw Pheres. Katurian's hands moved on their own, gathering her against his chest as his eyes darted between the other two teenagers. "Yeah, sure. Show you off and around." His lips curved upward ever so slightly at Lily's flustered words. He didn't hold her reaction against her or anything - after all, this kid was... pretty - she just never seemed less than calm, at least whenever he had been paying attention. "It's slow," he drawled, as if to demonstrate how slow it really was. "I don't think anyone would care if we took a break."
He stood and shifted Michal to the crook of one arm as he extended the other and offered a hand to shake. "Katurian. And this is Michal," he said, introducing her as he would another person.

Lily was, indeed, flustered. She felt dizzy with the sudden attraction, the flush of her cheeks only the most outward sign of her feelings. Want was not something that she had yet learned to take in stride. The hit of it was almost painful, and passion was the quickest way to ruin her usual chilly countenance. And she was all too ready to be impressed by juggling tricks, ready to giggle and and blush at the wink.
So it was that when those winking eyes turned, when Kin looked from her to Katurian and did not return his attention to her again. Well...
She was so ready to whirl, to turn and snap and scold him for trying to steal the shiny, golden boy from her. Was ready to say that she saw him first and how dare he, regardless of the truth of the event. But Pheres, bright Pheres who knew her too well, who was accustom to navigating the constant whirl of too much emotion that was her mind, jumped from her fingers, toward Michal.
She reached to grab him, operating on instinct. Succeeded in doing so. Dropped her crickets. The box hit the floor, the lid coming loose. She knelt quickly, in a swish of her long skirts, gathering it again. Even so, it was time, time enough for her to start to think. To realize that maybe Katurian could be her ally in this, speaking as he just had, to smooth things. It helped to have Pheres whispering desperately in her mind. Trying to calm her.
She remained kneeling, Pheres now safe on her shoulder, and cricket box in her hands. Her pale green eyes were burning now, hidden intensity all too close to the surface. "I'm Lily. With Pheres."
"I like your... horns." What, too blatant?

So he had heard right the first time. Kin chuckled throatily, amused with his co-workers already. Perhaps this wouldn't be such a job for him after all? "Great! Well, maybe not for the store, but you know..."
As the cricket cage fell, his attention was drawn back to the female. "Whoops!" Popping the hamsterball up into the air from his foot, the aforementioned goldenboy barely snagged it with his fingertips. Sauntering casually over to the nearest shelf, he ridded himself of his cargo for the moment (even the one between his horns), then went to see what he could do for the situation. Only the situation wasn't all that bad, considering the crickets hadn't been set free and were not hopping all which way.
"Katurian, Michal, Lily, Pheres," He repeated, smiling slightly at the names and hoping he could remember them all. If not, Adiel would. Whether she would be kind and tell him was another matter entirely. Feeling a bit obligated, now that they were naming their animals, he added, "Well, this is Adiel. I'm afraid she's a bit dull compared to everyone else." If the snake was offended, she made no sign. Unblinking, she simply stared slowly between the two humanoids and their guardians, her head lifting a little more so now it was over Kin's ear and hooking over one of those horns. As Michal approached and reached out, a warm and toned hand took his with no hesitation, enveloping firmly and yet somehow still restrained as it was given a couple pumps. Katurian received a grin- the smile of someone who likely praticed it every morning to make sure it looked as welcoming and confident as it was intended to be. Then his hand was released so he could turn at Lily's comment.
Twin yellow brows at her comment, and a lazy, almost haughty sort of smirk crawled over his features. "My horns? That all you like?" He purred flirtatiously. From his horns, Adiel let out a low hiss, her seeping over the horn to hang near her ward's cheek. It was second nature for Kin to be somewhat flirty, but he did not truly know Lily's intent. It was why he chuckled soon after and dismissively turned to study the great wide store they'd soon be exploring. Adiel knew, though. Adiel was not so very dense and knew what the female wanted of her ward. She wouldn't have him easy if she had a say. "Adiel!" Kin would say disapprovingly at her hiss, and sheepishly smile back to the other two. "She's just catching on to the excitement, is all. She's alright, really."
I don't think sssshe liiikess you very muuch. Drawling words so soft they seemed to be nothing but a hiss through a slightly-parted maw. Michal, if her ears were very keen, might have been able to hear it were she listening. Kin's mouth pulled into a thoughtful line, and the serpent continued. Donnn't look now but sssheee is glaaaaring at you.

Oblivious to his near-scolding, Katurian watched helplessly as Pheres began his death-leap toward Michal. The boy moved to pull away, but Lily reacted first, and Katurian was left stunned and speechless with thoughts of Michal dying a slow, painful, frog-poisoned death.
Calm down, Michal said for Katurian alone. He did it on purpose, see?
Katurian silently watched Lily and Kin as they dropped crickets and hamster balls, and made openly flirty comments at each other. Was that why he didn't have a significant other? Lack of banter?
You've got me, the hyena continued privately, completely missing Adiel's hushed hissing. Aisle eight, she prompted again.
"No, no, we're taking a break," Katurian muttered.
Inside voice.
Katurian sighed and looked up from his Key to his coworkers. "So, what do you want to see first?" he said softly, in case they both wanted to just stay here and talk.

Was it the nature of teens or merely some intrinsic Lilyness that had the girl pink tinted and nerve wracked as Kin flirted so openly. More the second, perhaps, as none of the other teens seemed to be suffering the malady. Either way, she could not quite answer his velvet warm question, only stammer a bit and force herself back to her feet, crickets clutched in what was now too tight a grip.
No more clumsy movements. She would prove to him that she could be elegant and graceful.
Worth his time.
So she straightened her skirt, and settled in a bit behind Katurian, so that she might better stare at the object of her affections. Her pale green eyes were indeed focused almost unblinking on Kin's neck. She wanted to watch him. She wanted to memorize him.
"The snakes." She murmured, her voice fluttering like birdsong. "I mean, maybe since you have one... and they are lovely."
This was not posing. She did have a fondness for reptiles, particularly the poisonous ones.
I am sorry. Did I startle you? Unlike Lily, who was more or less unaware of Katurian now, Pheres was far more concerned with the pair that he knew she still had the potential to turn against. She takes minding, I fear.

Standing and chatting? Boooooring. He could talk anyone's ear off any time of the day if he felt like it. But they were on their break now- he wanted to see the store! Unfortunately, what Kin wanted was what he usually ended up having. He was a natural-born leader, even if in this case he was supposed to be the follower. Turning eagerly at the question, for it was a good reprieve from Adiel's hissings, he approached Katurian and Lily.
Those amber eyes sought the other male, and he thrummed out a deep note of musing as he did so. When Lily spoke, his attention drifted over accordingly. He arched his brows in interest, giving a small nod of approval. "Snakes, hmm? Well, Adiel's not the only snake I've got! Just the one that's gotta follow me everywhere. Remind me, maybe I'll tell you about 'em later, if you're still interested. Nice frog you've got by the way- good color!"
With that, though, he was back to Katurian, giving the other a small little nudge with his elbow. "I want to see your favorite spot here, if you've got one. If not, surprise me, I guess. Hell if I know what this place has to offer."
